Fabulous location overlooking Looe Bay, you can sit for hours and drink in the view. Very helpful owners. Try and pitch on one of the flatter areas as the site does shelve quite steeply!
We spent a very relaxing four night stay here and became practised at the art of sitting around, drinking cider and chilling and consequently slept like logs!
The only thing I would say is that the toilets and showers could have been cleaner, I don't think the toilets were cleaned properly from Monday until we left on Friday lunchtime. Having said that we would go back as you just can't beat the location.

The location of this site is superb with fantastic views and access to the SW Coastal Path. Looe is about 30-40 minutes walk but it is hard going. However, the lane approaching the site is not for those who can't reverse a caravan.
The owners are really friendly and helpful (and slightly barking mad) and the facilities are adequate.
The only problem we had was that 'the pitch where you want' routine led to a chaotic and claustrophobic feel to the site with cars and tents / caravans being very close. At busy times I think a more formal allocation of pitches would be better for everyone.

This is as you can see from the pictures a very pretty site with a wonderful view over Looe bay.
It is a long narrow country road that leads up to the site, could be difficult to manoeuvre with bigger motorhomes. The site itself is quite sloping, the best level spots are closest to the facilities but your view will be obstructed by other motorhomes using the site.
The showers are in a barn conversion, there is a large shower within the toilet block. These are good condition and you should have no issues (the majority are push-on type showers).
It is about a two mile walk into Looe which is quite hard going due to the amount of hills, and there aren't other facilities nearby so I recommend getting your food in advance! As it is a rural site there is no entertainment on site.
The shire horses are a welcoming site, and they are what is left of the 'farm' with regards to animals. Friendly dogs are welcome but be aware there is an on site dog as well as the horses. The dog is very friendly though.
I would recommend a stay here to 'get away' from it all. Literally. Lovely place.

This is an excellent site with spectacular views from every pitch, we were greeted by Mike who is very friendly and helpful.
The toilets & showers are good & were always clean, the shire horses were a real bonus they are always ready to come to the paddock fence when called.
This is a very dog friendly site with lots of walks nearby.
There is no site shop but calor gas is available & no children's playground, this site is ideal for people who enjoy quiet surroundings with some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere.

We arrived in our hired 1972 campervan 'I am Spartacus' on a very windy getting wet day. Mike & Sky, the campsite very friendly dog, greeted us & helped us get into place. Unfortunately our van was having a few electrical problems so the owners of the van had to come out for some minor surgery, Mike stayed out in the rain & helped out, lending us tools & electric hook ups.
We met Liz the next day when my 5 & 7 year old went to beg to feed the shire horses, they had been promised they could feed them toast. Liz was wonderful leaving her breakfast table & helping the kids. Nothing was a problem.
The facilities were good, the toilet & 1 electric shower room is in the same barn as the shire horses which is quite comforting on a midnight toilet run to hear them shuffling around. There was another shower block with 4 more showers but these were not in use-it was April & the site not busy. The hot water for the washing up was not on, which was huge hassle I had to boil endless kettles of water to try & wash any greasy items. The washing up facilities & lack of hot water would be my only complaint. I didn't use the clothes washing facilities but all looked clean & well looked after.
Overall a great site with fantastic views would definitely recommend a few nights stay.

On arrival at this site, the first thing you notice is the beautiful view, followed by a friendly greeting from the owner coming down the path as there is no actual reception area.
Unfortunately I am afraid to say that from here onwards things declined quite rapidly. After putting the tent up in very windy conditions, we thought we would go and investigate the facilities. They are very basic and although we realised that this is a farm, what we didn't know was that the shower / toilets had only one (semi-open) partition to the horse stables!
It all seemed like something from the land that time had forgotten as there was also another shower block next to the stables which to be honest looked run-down and very neglected, the water was not on to this unit and from the thick dust and cobwebs it appeared not to have been serviced since last season. There was never any fresh smell of cleaning in either area ie disinfectant, the washing-up sinks being particularly dirty and unhygienic, we cleaned this area ourselves before we could bring ourselves to wash any dishes!
When using the facilities we noticed straight away the lack of running hot water which we both feel a basic and very essential provision. There was cold running water in all sinks including the washing up area, where there was one separate sink with a water heater above it that worked briefly then gave up. To do any dishes you have to wait and then use a bowl to transfer water into a larger sink! a bin was provided in the washing-up area, a notice above it stating 'please do not use this bin for rubbish please use trailer 60 yards away'
During the whole four days we had no running hot water in any of the sinks at all. The final insult that after one fluctuating hot / cold (intermittent) shower in the mens, that was the end of any hope of a hot shower. An electrician was in attendance on Easter Sunday and he stated that 'there was a new one on order'. The soap dish on the shower rail was very dirty and lashed together with cable ties! following this breakdown no 'out of order' sign was posted on the door resulting in an abortive, freezing attempt at a shower in what is an unheated shower block.

What can I say lovely site, Mike was lovely. We had a lovely pitch with fantastic views over to Looe Bay. Great Toilets and free showers, my daughter took her laptop and had free wi-fi which was useful to check weather reports etc, Monkey sanctuary down the road was very interesting. All in all good value.

Loved this friendly, clean well maintained site. Views fantastic day and starry night, facilities are more than adequate and clean, fab, more than enough for the seasoned camper, recommended to all my friends as a must visit, from the friendly welcome of Mike and Liz and their menagerie, (we hosted their lucky black cat during our stay), and the most stunning views we have seen from our tent!

Great site, thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The weather on the most part was scorchio, but on the one wet day we had there, the site seemed to hold up well, no puddles or waterlogging. Facilities are good. Showers are just right, toilets are basic but fine. Views from the site are worth the stay alone! Mike was very friendly and helpful.
Local facilities are the only slight niggle. No pub within walking distance really, parking in looe costs, even just to nip to coop, so we found ourselves popping into liskeard morrisons for provisions a few times. We also found the footpaths from site overgrown and badly maintained. Not the site's fault obviously, but worth noting.
Close to looe, polperro and the beautiful fowey. Also took a trip to the eden project, which isn't too far, and st michaels mount, which is a bit further but do-able on a day trip.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable and special site, but expect to have to drive to visit places.

Well what can we say, first the weather (ok say no more just glad we had upgraded to a caravan this year). The site is lovely, the owners Mike and Liz are absolute angels, I had the misfortune of my car breaking down and being on a Sunday no garages open. Mike was very kind and lent me his car so the four of us could go to the local shops which are about two miles away. Anyway back to the review of the site toilets and showers basic but good, washing machines on site very good, views brilliant. Only set back is the access a very narrow lane leading up to the site just before the monkey sanctuary with a 17% hill with tight left hand bend (went straight up it once I had kicked the other half and the kids out the car ) but once up that part, fine, no problems. All in all brilliant apart from weather and mike and liz couldn't do anything about that. Recommendation all the way lovely
