Went to site after finding on UKCampsite.co.uk. Very quiet and relaxing and spotless clean. Good facilities in kitchen. Would recommend this site as a good base. Hosts were very good, couldn't do enough for you. Will be going back. I would recommend as it is for over 25s, no noise at night, very peaceful. Very close to welshpool for shopping and a few good pubs local. Showers all inc in pitch fee and were also very clean

This is our favourite site to come to when we haven't got the kids! The grounds are kept immaculate at all times of the year. There are shrubs planted in between each pitch to give a private feel, The toilet block is heated which is great in the winter. The washing up area is in doors and also heated, facilities include kettle, microwave fridge and freezer. There is an ample dog walking field. The site is a great base to visit Powys Castle, Coed y Dinas and Welshpool. If your looking for peace and quite this is the site for you.

On returning to this site we were given a warm welcome and caught up on what's new or changed in the area, which was really helpful.
In my opinion the owners have learnt how to pitch their presence correctly for this type of adult site by not being intrusive but at the same time always being available as and when needed.
We used a hard standing pitch for the convenience of having EHU and water connection (I'd call this luxury caravanning)
The pitches are of ample size to take both caravan and large awning and car plus surrounding grass to BBQ or just laze away your day in peace and quiet.
The facilities are always exceptionally clean there is a press button shower unit in each of the toilet facilities which I think is an asset in this age of water conservation. All three toilet facilities are heated so no nasty shocks should you bare all.
The kitchen area has both a fridge and freezer also microwave and kettle plus washing up area with paper towels. Also there is information of the area, eating out, local wildlife and also a book lending area with DVD's.
If you are taking your dog on the site, it has a good enclosed dog walking area with a dog bin near to the gate, and is continually maintained by William on his trusty grass-cutting machine.
The site is well planted with a lot of thought put into the choice of shrubs and general plantings between each of the pitches. Perhaps if you are into manicured perfection they would benefit from a pruning but unfortunately the weather this year hasn't been on the gardeners side, as a gardener myself I am aware of the trials and tribulations this recent weather has caused.
The main food super stores are approx 5mls away Morrison's, Tesco's, Co-op, not forgetting the many options for local food source, in and around Welshpool and the many farm shops that are open to anyone that is passing, whilst in the other direction there is Tuffins, (which really needs to be experienced, especially the car-boot sale Sunday mornings)
This area has such a lot to offer in its natural diversity, there are lakes, castles, market towns and scenery, too name just a few, that you would never tire of.

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon. And although there was not many empty pitches, there were only a handful of people on site. It appears that most pitches are used as seasonal. It was nice and quiet.
We wanted EHU, so had a grass pitch near the facilities. Most of the pitches are hardstanding, although, if you don't need EHU there is grass tent pitches at one end of the site.
The facilities are kept very clean. There is only one shower for each sex and a disabled room, but never had to wait. There is a kitchen which has a fridge, freezer, kettle and microwave, also sink for washing up. This room also has lots of local info and also has a selection of books/magazines that you can borrow.
We always took the short drive into Welshpool for shopping. Morrisons, Tesco, and Co-op are the main ones, but there is a good selection of smaller shops there.
The owners were nice and always available. If we visited this area again. I would return to this site. We had a great stay, even the weather behaved.

Site is well situated for touring round parts of Wales and Shropshire. It is not within easy walking distance of any facilities such as shops, pubs etc and you would need to use your car to reach such facilities. Site was easy to reach from the road network, no narrow single track roads to negotiate. It is fairly close to an A road which means a little road noise between the hours of 6. 30am to 7. 30pm but does ease overnight.
We didn't use any of the local pubs, but did visit the chinese takeaway in Churchstoke which was very good and portion sizes were very generous.
Site accepts caravans, motor homes and campers. There are ample recycling facilities, a dog walk, kitchen/information room and a shower block. Ladies, gents and disabled facilities. Shower in the ladies was a little colder than I would have liked and is a very annoying push button type and doesn't stay on long enough. No shelf facility in the shower itself for shower gel, shampoo, conditioner etc. There is a shelf just outside the shower but you have to keep reaching out to get your things and subsequently wet everything up.
Shower block/kitchen and information room is situated to the front of the site and is heated (a little to hot for my liking).
Site is nicely planted up with shrubs between each pitch (although they could do with a good prune as they are getting very straggly). Pitches in our opinion are a little to close to each other and the road area a little to narrow.
We felt that the site could have been better laid out to allow more room and better views of the lovely surrounding area instead all you can see is the top of the shower block and the van at the side of you. Pitches are a mix of hardstanding and grass but the majority are hardstanding. Most pitches have own water supply and drainage, this we quite liked as you didn't get the noise of everyone wheeling aqua rolls and wastemasters around.
Other reviewers have commented on the friendly owners, we couldn't comment on this because we only saw one of them on arrival when they took our money and gave us instructions on what pitches we could use. We never saw anyone pottering around, cleaning or tidying up or gardening (which is very much needed as it was looking a little overgrown during our visit).
There were a number of pitches that were used as seasonal - probably over half of them. Site was relatively quiet mid week but got busier towards the weekend as the seasonal pitches were used. I could imagine when full that the limited number of showers could be a problem, although on our trip we never experienced a problem. The other half did comment that the gents got very steamy and condensed up when the site was busier.
We felt that the site was very pricey at £21 a night for two adults and one dog. This is even more expensive that some of the larger sites such as Caravan Club, Caravan and Camping Club etc. There was no Wi Fi or extras to account for the high cost. We probably wouldn't have minded so much if we had got the personal touch, but as mentioned previously we never saw anyone after we had paid.
We didn't come away feeling wow what a great site we must go again, but neither did we feel that we would never want to visit the site again. The surrounding area is beautiful and would definitely deserve a second or third viewing.
Just a word of warning we could not use the digital aerial on our van we had to use our sat dish to pick up a decent picture.

Clean and the toilet/shower block was both warm, claan and free. So refreshing to come across a site that isn't trying to squeeze every last penny out of you.
Lots of wildlife including a delightful pair of baby hares that amused us that amused us this morning.
We didn't get the chance to explore the immediate area apart from the fact that there is a petrol station/shop at the bottom of the road that sells calor gas bottles.
We will certainly go back again, soon.

Wonderfully quiet site, We were met by the owner at the gate and given our welcome pack and a choice of pitch (which I like because if you get it wrong it is only your own fault) and told to set up and then come to the house to pay, no rush.
We chose a grass pitch opposite the toilet block and near to the sizeable dog walk.
The only snag was that it was on a slope and needed levelling blocks, no problem though because there are plenty for you to use behind the toilet block which is something a lot of sites don't think of.
The site is very well laid out and the planting is something that Alan Titchmarsh would be proud of.
This visit was a two night stopover on the way to somewhere else but it is one we will definitely be going back to.
Welshpool has plenty of good shops and restaurants.

This is a great adults only site, situated in an ideal location for touring the borders. The large gravel pitches were perfect for our motorhome and trailer (with our Smart Car)
The fully serviced pitch was very reasonably priced. Excellent access to and from the site with our long outfit.
There is a special area for tents beautifully mowed grass and very quiet when we visited in August.
The site is very peaceful during the week and a bit busier at weekends when people in seasonal pitches turned up. The toilet block was adequate and the kitchen facilities were very good. Some road noise at night but we still slept well! The site is beautifully maintained by the owner and if nature watching is your thing, this is the place to be.
Shopping at Welshpool is good, park at Asda it's free. There is a fabulous Indian restaurant in Montgomery about a 10 minute drive, we got the best takeaway we have eaten.
A car is necessary here as even the nearest pub is a very stiff walk up hill, so motor caravanner's will need to use their vans! Powys Castle makes a great day out and Offa's Dike Path is 5 mins away.
If you go in the summer take the little steam train a really exciting and cheap day out, take a packed lunch. We will be back!

Have just returned from this lovely site where even the weather behaved itself! I couldn't agree more with previous revewers about this little heaven on earth.
The owners are very friendly, and gave us information about the site, useful numbers, places to go, we even got a map. Each pitch is separated by trees and shrubs, they told me that each camper 'had their own little garden' for the caravans as well as tents. We pitched up at the far end and had the camping area to ourselves virtually for the eight days we stayed. It was so peaceful with only the birdsong and little brook as company. It was lovely spotting the birds in the evenings when we were there, and I have a couple of great photos of a fox!
There are some excellent books in the kitchen/information room about wildlife and plant identification as well as some novels and games.
Facilities were excellent, as well as being clean and tidy, there was a kitchen area for food preparation with fridge, freezer and microwave, and even a kettle! Toilet block was also spotless with a push button shower with just the right temperature.
Location of the site is fairly central with Welshpool and shops and pubs five miles away, and Chirbury the same distance the other way which has a pub and gereral store, five miles on from that is Church Stoke with an excellent general store called Tuffins that sell everything under one roof - it even has a wildlife park.
We did a lot of walking, not only on Offas path, but also local hills such as Corndon, Roundton and Todleth as well as the canal in Welshpool, Stiperstones and Long Mynd the favorites for this area.
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we didn't bother to move on to North Wales, and stayed four extra days!In fact we only left in the end because the weather was changing.
We will definitely be returning to this amazing site. David Bellamy would be very proud to visit too!

Beautiful site. The entrance is enticing with flowering shrubs. The whole site is well tended and clean. The pitches may be a little small but adequate. Well set out surrounded by shrubs and planting. Facilities are small, 1 shower, 2 toilets and 2 sinks in the ladies, but clean. Quiet site set in wonderful surroundings. Owners friendly and keen to ensure guests are comfortable. There is a kitchen area for dish washing, a microwave and kettle there for anyone camping in a tent. We will certainly use again.
