A wonderful site excellent facilities owners very friendly and welcoming.
When not being used our caravan was stored for us at very reasonable rates both winter and summer.
Our only reason for leaving this idyllic spot was for business reasons which meant we were unable to get there more frequently.
we look forward to the day when we may get the chance to return.
Welshpool and Churchstoke only a few miles away.
Everything you could possibly want for your holiday can be got from Harry Tuffins in Churchstoke shopping etc.

We arrived at this site later than expected on a Friday evening, after 8.30, and the owners were still very friendly and welcoming. We were given a little leaflet and site map telling us about local facilities, A & E departments etc, and told where to head on the site.
We drove to the top end as we didn't need an electric hook-up,(there were pitches elsewhere on site catering for those that did, as well as caravans and motorhomes) and we found plenty of large, clearly defined pitches and picked one near the stream.
We picked the farthest spot from the toilets etc, but this only meant a less than two minute walk along a well made road trough the site to get to them. On this site, even parking next to them wouldn't have been an issue as the toilet / shower and kitchen block were spotlessly clean and very well maintained, as were the rest of the grounds.
The kitchen had a small fridge and freezer, a microwave and sink, as well as lots of local tourist information, and there is a well set out recycling point so that you can do your bit for the environment too.
I asked the owner whether there were restrictions on barbecues etc, and he directed me to a fire point where there were several bricks which you could take to your pitch and stand cookers etc on to minimise risks-as a first time camper without a lot of the usual bits and pieces this was great as we were using a disposable barbecue and a one ring stove.
Unfortunately we were only able to stay for one of the two nights we had booked but this was no reflection on the site, and we will happily return in the future as there are some lovely local walks and pubs.
It was peaceful and relaxing, and the owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly-we offered to pay for both nights as we had made the booking but they refused to take payment for the second night which we were unable to stay for which I felt was very good of them.
All in all a really lovely site in a beautiful setting, and the over 25s rule meant peace and quiet for all! Definitely a place to unwind and relax (and dog friendly too!).

On arrival was greeted warmly by the owner, who gave us a leaflet about the site & local attractions.
This is a adults only site & is very well set out with plenty of hardstanding areas, EHU, the pitches are well spaced with a variety of shrubs and trees which when matured will give extra privacy. It's set in a sweeping valley with views of the Stiperstones and adjoining hills.
Although a main road is near it didn't spoil our visit, infact we were more concious of the birds singing and a babbling stream. The toilets and showers were alway clean & warm, there is a kitchen area for washing up and food preparation area, this also included a fridge, freezer and microwave at no extra cost.
We visited Montgomery, an historical town with castle ruins, museum and teashops, Church Stoke sunday market and shop, Icecream Dairy shop, nr Mellington (very good)and Welshpool for the supermarket and other shops.

Just returned from four nights at this site – what a gem. Compact, neat and tidy and spotlessly clean. The owners are relaxed and friendly and very welcoming. A mixture of hard standing [level] and grass [slightly sloping]. There are several new fully serviced pitches.
This is an adults only site so it’s very quiet and peaceful with very little road noise which was hardly noticeable in the caravan. No shop on site but there are a variety of supermarkets in Welshpool just 5 miles away.
The toilet block is heated, in fact it was very warm, but there was only one cubicle and one urinal in the gents [two cubicles in the ladies]. However, this was not a problem as there is a disabled toilet and shower room to use in an emergency.
Hard standing – fully serviced – adults only - and very clean; all for £18 per night. All in all a very good site and one I’ll be returning to this year.

Well, this is a wonderful site the owners are pleasant and caring, the site is spotless as is the toilet/shower block and the pitchs are a generous size some grass mostly hard standing and fully serviced, nearby shop and post office good supply of what you forgot things, a short drive to Montgomery and Churchstoke and Welshpool only about 6 miles.
One thing to consider, the site does not take card payments so it is cash or cheque but the shop in Chirbury gave us cash back and there are cash machines in the near by towns.
All together a very enjoyable stay we will visit again soon.

We visited Rhyd y Groes for a few days during the February half term. It snowed just as we were setting up which made the area even more attractive. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Although we were a little concerned about the proximity of the A road we needn't have worried, as there is a small hill between the site and the road which acts as a very effective sound barrier. It's not a particularly busy road anyway, so the traffic was sporadic and not a problem. All in all it was a very quiet site.
There were quite a number of caravans there on seasonal pitches but only two other units were being used at the time of our visit, making it especially peaceful.
The pitches were of quite a good size and were quite well spaced out. Some were level (most of the hardstandings), but some were gently sloping (mainly the grass pitches).
The wash block was very warm indeed and because some of the pipes were under the floor it was like having underfloor heating which meant that it was very comfortable walking around having taken a shower. Although the shower was a push button type, with no way of adjusting the temperature, I found that it was just right for me and the pressure was good too. There was only one urinal and one sit down toilet, so whether that would be a problem in the peak season I don't know. There were two washbasins. I suppose if I had to criticise anything it would be a slight lack of hooks and the somewhat lukewarm water from the sink taps.
The kitchen area was very handy and well kept. Although we manage quite happily in our caravan without a microwave, having access to one in the kitchen area on site did come in very handy on a couple of occasions.
All in all, this is a well kept, attractive site with some nice views of the surrounding countryside. There are one or two walks you can do right from the site as well as some a little further afield. Part of Offa's Dyke is only a few minutes away. Although there are some nice pubs in the general area, they are a bit of a hike if going on foot. There's some useful information about pubs and restaurants in the area in the kitchen on site, along with information about other attractions both close to hand as well as further afield.
We would recommend this site and have already booked to go again, as this is an excellent base from which to explore this attractive area.

We have just returned from an absolutely fantastic week at this lovely peaceful site.
We were pitched on the main part of the site as we use EHU. The pitches are well defined with young shrubs between each one which made your pitch feel like your own, and you also knew nobody would be squeezed in next to you! There is a dog walk on site which is an excellent area to exercise your dogs.
William and Helen offered a very warm welcome, and this is a very friendly site, everyone willing to stop and chat, or wave as they passed. They obviously take great care of the site as the toilets, kitchen and grounds were always kept clean and tidy.
The kitchen has excellent facilities with a good fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave, washing up facilities and food preparation area. The toilets were always kept lovely and clean with free showers in both the gents and ladies plus a free hair dryer in the ladies.
Welshpool (approx 5 miles) has all the shops, take aways and pubs you would ever need, having a major supermarket just as you come into town, plus its a nice town to walk around. Montgomery is a nice little town also worth a visit. For the more intrepid walker we would recommend Stiperstones NNR around 7 miles away, which is a good work out and offers fantastic views or the Welsh and Shropshire countryside.
Overall an excellent site which we will be going back to in the very near future

First time campers. Stayed an hours drive away from home. Excellent small quiet site with lovely new clean facilities - brilliant disabled/ wet room facility ideal for family use. Not much for kids to do on site but we only stayed two nights to get us started. This isn't a really a family site. Site owner very friendly and welcoming if a little elusive as has a farm to run too. Powys Castle, Welshpool and the LLanfair railway well worth a visit.

Stayed one night on route to west coast of Wales.
What a delightful site it is with it's lovely mountain view.
We received a friendly welcome, the facilities were exceptionally clean, the site was very organised and well managed, and we were able to recycle.
There are grass & hard standing pitches and some of the tourers were there for the season.
This was a quiet site great for adults.
