We arrived with our massive tent (7 x 6 m) on a fully booked campsite.(theses are the biggest pitches we have come across.By far). All pitches are mostly level and easily pegged. We had 2 weeks of rain, but the ground remained well drained and we still could leave the car by the tent. The only road noise was from the tractors. We never had to wait for the FREE shower. We liked the FREE freezer and fridge for our ice blocks and lillte food. Our 5 children loved the site for the safe freedom and shallow stream. The toilets are clean with plenty of loo roll and soap. This is a working farm, yet the owners still had time to help and chat. Bad points. To be really picky. 1 mile to the pub. If you camp near the tree in the corner you will be woken early morning by the loudest owl. Would I return.YES

Sshhh.Don't tell everyone about this site - it's great! Just spent four nights at this site and it really is a little gem.
Tent pitches are around the edge of a field on closely cut, flat grass. No marked pitches - go where you like - but due to the limit the owners put on numbers, there is plenty of room for even the largest of units and still a good distance to your immediate neighbours. There are also a dozen touring pitches with hardstanding and EHU in a separate area.
OK the facilities are in short supply and basic, but are more than adequate and kept spotlessly clean throughout the day. 1 hot shower (free), 1 wash basin with hot water, 2 pot wash with hot water, 2 toilets (cold water sinks) and a gents urinals. There is also a fridge and freezer for campers use. All the facilities are up at the farm buildings - about a 200m walk from your pitch. There is a tap with drinking water in the camping field.
The location is superb - only 5 mins walk from Austwick, where there is a good pub and village shop, and only a 15 min drive from Settle if you need more shops. Just inside the edge of the national Park, you don't need to move your car - just walk straight from the site to enjoy some spectacular scenery.
All in all, a great site - will be back again!

Visited with my 9 year old son in a small two person tent. We walked in from clapham railway station. Good stores in clapham village and the Game Cock Inn in Austwick is excellent and well worth a visit - cracking Thwaites beer. You can walk from the campsite as we did but try and book as it does get busy.
Only one shower might be a problem and is overcome with great ease.
Great views, near ingleborough, good experience. The green lanes and bridleways are ideal for biking so take your bikes. Lots of good walking too.
All in all a wonderful time.

As other reviews suggest, this is a pleasant campsite set within a nice environ. The facilities are basic but very clean. The owners could probably improve the site by installing a second wash basin with hot water to mitigate the early morning queues.
For excellent pub 'fodder' and real ales to a CAMRA standard, the pub at Helwith Bridge can be recommended strongly enough.

Travelled there from the Midlands for a family gathering. Well worth the journey. Lovely site friendly and well run. Best of all was the location - in some of the best countryside we have ever visited. Agreed the Game Cock is a lovely pub - shame about the pudding selection though.
A good area for walking and for cycling. There seemed to be lots of cycling groups riding by. You'd need to be fit as the area is hilly.

Perfect for a quiet weekend away near Austwick, large hardstanding pitches with plenty of room so your not on top of everyone, friendly helpful owners who, once you're on site, are available if needed but keep out of the way and let you enjoy your break,
Village of Austwick has a great little pub 'The Gamecock' food on the pricey side but big portions and look great, nice shop/post office
Well worth a visit to this well kept clean well run site with the views on offer you will be glad you did

We stayed at this very picturesque and well run site for a week. Hook-up is limited so book in advance. The site lies within the National Park and provides good access for walking and cycling.
Within a short drive of Settle and Ingleton all the local attractions are within easy reach. The best pub we found was the New Inn in the very pretty village of Clapham - just over two miles from the campsite.
The nearest local pub is in Austwick is called the Gamecock Inn and boasts a French Chef. There is no street lighting and torches are recommended.
It is an absolute pleasure to wake up to the sounds of sheep baa-ing and the unusual call of the curlew. The facilities at the Farm are very good, well cleaned, and functional. Edward and Margaret are on hand to answer any questions. We had a wonderful week and would recommend this site very highly.

Just come back from a wonderful weekend at Woodend Farm, granted the sunshine helped but what a lovely place to stay. The farmers wife, Margaret welcomed us and gave us a quick tour of the facilities, basic but spotless and more than adequate.
She said that she never takes more than 17 tents which means that there is plenty of space for each pitch around a sizeable field, this was welcome news having stayed at sites in the past where they crammed us in like sardines!
Plenty of places to walk to in the area, and we will definitely take our bikes next time as the bridleways look fab. Went for a walk to Faisor which is only a mile and a half away but has a very welcoming cafe at the end of it with very good but cheap tea, coffee and cakes!
Went for a meal at the local pub, The Game Cock, which is a 20 minute walk down a very dark road, I agree with other reviewers that a torch for the journey home is a must. Food was excellent and not too pricey but as it's the only pub in the village and the restaurant is very small you need to book in advance. They do bar snacks and takeaway pizzas though so you wont starve if they're fully booked!
All in all a fantastic place to stay and we can't wait to go back.

We arrived at site without previously having booked pitch. Sign outside informed us site was full, however spoke to caretaker (owner's away on holiday) who said we could pitch in tent field for the night as all tourers would be leaving tomorrow, no hook up but we were self sufficient, this was not a problem for one night. The next day, Sunday we had the choice of pitches. The pitches are hardstanding for the van and our awning was on the grass. We virtually had the site to ourselves the first couple of nights, the site only has 5/6 pitches available for hookup. This site was beautiful, lovely and friendly. Our small dog jumped onto the bed one morning and had an accident, the caretaker was happy to wash and hang out our bedding to dry and advise us of shopping in Settle to purchase another quilt ! The local pub does very good food, but as previously mentioned, if walking there at night as we did, remember your torch !
Access to the site is by narrow lanes, though my van is 24ft I had no problems turning in and out of the site, there are plenty of passing places in the lane leading to the site. Shower facilities nice and clean. Though there is only one shower, I was informed that the owners are planning to install more in the next year. Only downside was the wind blowing branches off which landed on the roof of the van during the night and alarmed my wife ! next time I'll remember not to park under the tree's. Great location for Settle and surrounding area's.

A little gem of a campsite. Nestled in the shadows of the surrounding hills you really can feel like you are miles away from civilisation here. Peaceful and quiet plus the couple who run the campsite are lovely.
Facilities wise there is 1 shower, 2 toilets (with cold water sinks) and a set of urinals along with 2 washing up sinks and a further sink with hot water. Less facilities than most of the sites we've stayed at, but due to the limited amount of people allowed to camp on the site there was never queues, the toilets were clean and never ran out of looroll & soap. Although we never used them there is also a fridge and freezer avaliable for the campers to use.
Turned out to be the perfect base for walking the surrounding peaks. We will certainly return to this campsite.
