Just spent 3 nights there. Lovely setting - mountain views - big field for tents not requiring electric, field with statics tourers and tents with electric. Lots of space in big field for tents and £4 person children cheaper cost us £12 night for 12 man tent 2 adults 3 children. Close to Keswick and you can book. Doubt you will find anywhere as cheap. You can book in advance unlike other places. Owners really friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets clean with hot water. Dog and bone pub Keswick good menu and lets you take dogs in. In square near chip shop.

We found a laid back gem ! site has about 20 EHU. But also lots of extra space for tents etc. We arrived and owners were at shops, so were directed to just find a spot and pitch, by their 11 year old son, after he had got off his farm tractor which he adequately drove into farmyard !
Facilities are ok. Mens- 2 toilets, 2 showers (20p) and a trough! didn't go into ladies ! however, spotlessly clean ! great location. 5 miles keswick, 15 minutes grasmere.
Only negative - if you want T.V, you need a sat dish ! we have a great directional aerial, but it was a no go !
Would we go back ? already planning to !

Spent a couple of nights here just after the Easter weekend and it was ideal. There was quite a bit of rain, so the ground was pretty soft, but it held out well.
The location is brilliant - about 5 miles from Keswick in the direction of Grasmere. There's a bus stop at the end of the lane, with regular buses running in both directions. There are ideal opportunities for walking: Thirlmere, Watendlath, Borrowdale on one side of the road and the Helvellyn range of the other.
Facilities are pretty basic, but spotlessly clean and plenty hot water. Fees are cheap - only £11 for two adults + EHU + camper.
Excellent site, will return.

Visited this site for an overnight stay on the Sunday of August Bank Holiday weekend. The campsite had several tourers and quite a few tents, but still had room - surprising for the Lakes, but probably due to the awful weather that we've had recently!
The owners were very friendly and the toilet block was very clean & adequate. There were 2 showers in each block, which required 20p, I think, although I didn't use them.
The situation was beautiful - just a few minutes walk to the Lake and we liked the fact that you could pitch your tent on top of little hillocks at the top of the field, giving you your own space (although quite a steep path up). Fantastic views towards the Helvelllyn range and Castle Crag (when the rain stopped)! If you didn't want to pitch your tent at the top, they had a field adjacent to the farm.
Price was £4 per person. Pub/hotel 20 mins walk. Nearest shops in Keswick or Grasmere. Really good, if you just want a basic site.

This was our first camping experience and this site certainly helped to make it a huge success!
We had a large tent and the owners were really accommodating as well as very friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower block was very adequate. The hills around were excellent for the kids to climb and they were a good substitute for a playground. The views were stunning.
Very close to Thirlmere which is such a peaceful lake - perfect for a holiday and the site itself is the ideal base for exploring the Lake District.
We had a lot of rain the first few days and the ground got rather muddy. We also broke quite a few tent pegs, but these were little things that didn't spoil the holiday in the slightest. Very friendly people frequented the site and gave us lots of tips and help.
