Had a warm and friendly welcome at arrival and shown to our pitch which was surrounded by a dry stone wall with wild flowers growing out of it. The pitch was large, flat and had a sea view.
The site was wonderful with chickens running around and sometimes into the van. The shop sold the basics as well as bread and bacon by the slice which is a great idea if you are backpacking or on your own.
There is a footpath from the site to the coastal footpath which has stunning views, you can also walk down onto Kynnance Cove which is beautiful but small and I suspect very busy in the school holidays.
Henrys is on the edge of Lizard Village which has a couple of shops, post office, cafe which serves superb locally sourced breakfasts and a fish and chip shop (check opening times if you are planning a fish and chip supper).
There are 2 pubs, we ate in The Top House a couple of times and the food was good and not badly priced, we didn't try the food in The Witch Bowl because when we tried we were told the kitchen was too busy even though half the tables in the restaurant were empty.
The thing that struck me was how friendly the locals were compared to the rest of Cornwall, we even ended up rather drunk on cider playing cards and chatting with 4 locals in The Top House one night.
If you have children with you there are plenty of local attractions to drive to from Henrys although we mainly had long sunny walks along the coastal path.
A word of warning, if you are the sort of pampered camper that like 5 star toilet and shower facilities this is probably not the site for you. The toilets and shower are unisex which does take a bit of getting used to and housed in old stone buildings, they are clean just a bit dated.
This is such a stunning site for couples, families, young or old. It is so different from any site I have been to, I can't wait to go back, I just hope they are not booked up next year!

My husband booked this site due to its reviews and location. We found a quirky campsite with lovely small fields and secluded pitches on a lovely campsite. There are quite a few pitches however it does not feel like it as it is well laid out.
The owners are friendly and very helpful and they have a nice little shop and sell various items and also sell local produce. The toilets are a bit rustic but clean and tidy.
The toilets and showers are unisex and not many in number but I never had to queue for a toilet/shower during our stay. There is a small dish washing area but again we never had to wait to use it.
There are chickens running around giving it a farm feel. We walked to the Lizard and Kynance Cove from the camp site and there are plenty of other walks around from the campsite.
There are a few shops and a post office within 2 mins of the campsite. The showers do cost 20p and I did think this was a slight cheek after paying £22 a night to camp!
We would recommend this to anyone and do plan to re visit again soon.

Just returned from cornwall. Spent 2 nights at henry's campsite. If your in the area this is the place to be. Very central for Lizard village. Lots of lovely walks to lizard point and coastal paths.
Lizard village is very small, couple of gift shops, two pubs, smugglers - fish n chip shop - sells really good local fish. There is a small cafe at lizard point. Had a lovely cream tea.
The campsite is great - very shabby chic! Feels very secluded with the lovely plants around each large pitch. Lovely sea view. Shower facilities are the only thing lacking with this site. The 20p shower was ok, about 40p should do the trick.
You can buy free range eggs and other supplies from the shop. Didnt sample the old rosie.
The only other comment - phone signal is poor in general in this area. But you can use the free wifi in the Top House pub. The locals very very friendly there as well. We had a great time.

Freshly back from Henry's today and what a fabulous little find! Jo (owner) very friendly, we had arrived earlier than 12.30 and were shown to our pitch. It was absolutely beautiful and each pitch is contained and some quite secluded with shrubs and plants.Wonderful seaviews too! There is a site map where you can choose your pitch for next time! George our 8 year old loved the free roaming chickens! They also have pot bellied pigs, horses and ducks too!
There are same-sex loo's and shower's, there is one 'family' cubicle so very handy! 20p for a 2 minute shower, is a quick 2 minutes! So take a few 20p's with you, also 20p for hairdryer, again take a few! One reviewer mentioned that it was a bit of a trek to the shower/loo block from bottom of site.Hmmm we were at the bottom and please be reassured it's a 30 second/minute stroll! The majority of pitches were electric hook-up, we didn't have this, this time and for 2 adults 1 8 year old it was £24 per night. You are certainly paying for the uniqueness and views! You can hire a fire basket at £2.50 but they request you buy their wood £4.50, it's not a terribly big bag of wood.
There is a small shop selling the basics too. The Lizard is within walking distance (15 min walk). Cadgwith is about 1hr 30 min walk along the costal path and about 40 mins across countryside. Jo provides you with a hand drawn map! Not much at Cadgwith though, a cafe, pub and shop. You can walk to Kynance Cove, well worth the walk, beautiful beach and lovely cafe where you can watch the waves roll in! Coverack is only about a 20 min drive, lovely part of the coast with a few cafe's and little shops.

I arrived at Henry's campsite not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. The site is fantastic and quirky in equal measure! The pitches are individual and carefully divided with trees, bushes and shrubs. I was pleased to see that dogs and children seemed very welcome and that there was plenty for children to do.
The showers were adequate and the presence of a washer/dryer was very welcome. The site is not cheap, but was not too expensive either (£14 per night for a tent) bearing in mind the proximity to Lizard village and to Lizard point.
The surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful, A 10 minute walk sees you on the coast and clearly marked paths enable you to explore plenty of the nearby area. Visiting Lizard point and seeing the resident Chough (birds)was the highlight of my two month trip around the UK, I'm sure I wouldn't have had such a good time had the campsite not been so nice.

My wife and I have stayed at Henry's camp site a few times, the last being 2007, the only reason we have not been since 2007 is because we wanted to try a different part of the country, however we will be going back to our favourite part of the world next year and hopefully staying at Henry's, (if Ron and Jo can fit us in). A few people have commented on the shower/toilet situation but we think this all adds to the overall charm of the place, it is difficult to describe this place but I think you just need to go there and try it, we were not sure the first time we pitched up but that feeling went within the first hour. The night sky over Henry's just has to be seen to be believed, I urge every camper on that site to just lay on your back on the grass and look up and if you are not amazed then there is something wrong with you. The Lizard is stunning and the village has all you really need to help you have a relaxing holiday. Everything about Henry's is absolutely charming and Ron and Jo have got everything just about right and as for those scones, well see for yourself, we brought a bag home with us last time.

Fabulous site, in a perfect location for walking (particularly the SW Coastal Path) and relaxing on the beach.
The owners couldn't have been more understanding or helpful when we arrived in a downpour, with a tent already full of water, even lending us a couple of towels!
Unisex toilet/shower blocks may not be to everyone's taste, but they were always clean and I never saw a queue (though we were only there 2 days mid-week).
Showers cost 20p for 2 minutes, though the fact that they're unisex means that couples can share to get best value! There seemed to be only 2 sinks for washing up (both with free hot water) and one general tap for filling water containers, which is almost hidden in a plant by the wash-ups.
All the 3 toilet/shower blocks seem to be together at the top of the site, which is fine if you're on the top couple of terraces but may be a bit of a trek uphill if you're pitched lower down.
The basic prices are very reasonable, but the owners do charge for a lot of the 'extras'. If you want an open campfire, it costs £6 per day to hire a brazier with logs. I don't think they allow you to use your own fire-pits (even on legs), so they have a bit of a monopoly and probably make a decent profit on this. They also charge 10p (per pack) to freeze your ice packs, and 20p for 5 mins in the tumble drier. I've forgotten what the washing machines cost, but it's similar.
There's a small but well-stocked shop on site selling almost everything you could need from food to camping spares, and a decent sized village shop and post office within easy walking distance.
Other reviews have already mentioned the chickens (which were hilarious and had the sweetest fluffy chicks following them around), pigs, goats and the random bits of art & sculpture, which really make this site unique.
We'll definitely be going back, but will be booking well in advance as it was fully booked up a week ahead this year, even for the second week in September.

Wow - great campsite!
Its quirky and beautiful and just our cup of tea.
Lovely level pitches in terraces. Ours had a wooden cut out seat, near which we sited the log basket which made for great evenings. Unfortunately during our stay we had almost constant fog on the site, but it didn't spoil things.
I was a bit sceptical that the website didn't show too many photos, but I needn't have worried, it was delightful.
Showers and facilities were fine and followed the quirky feel of the site.
Owners were lovely and the site was just a short walk to the amenities of the village.
Would definitely return.

We stayed here in july for my 40th birthday and we also renewed our wedding vows here around the camp fire everyone was so friendly and joined us to make our day special. The owners are absolutely wonderful, they provide a well kept site full of exotic plants, animals standing stones, there is a large play are for the kids, showers, shop, this is a total gem of a place very magical. The village itself is lovely I would highly recommend the witchball pub for food. We cant wait to return.
Jo also makes really nice scones that go down well with a jug of rosie, I cannot praise this place any higher our wedding photographer said it was one of the best locations she had been to, and everyone we met were return campers or new like us that would definitely be returning, fantastic people fantastic site.

We visited this site in mixed weather. The owners-Ron & Jo could not have been more helpful, especially as I was on my own with two young children! Facilities clean and never had to queue. The site was full but still didn't feel over crowded.
I can't recommend it enough but may be not what you're looking for if you are used to the caravan club type site!
The area is also outstanding-we usually frequent North Cornwall and it is a lot less crowded the further down you get!
I would love to recommend it to everyone but then we would be less likely to get a pitch in the future!
