If you are looking for a campsite in a fantastic part of Cornwall, owners Ron and Jo are warm friendly and welcoming to their part of paradise. With the site in the middle of ancient stone walls which separate many of the pitches, the view down the valley to the sea is simply stunning. The site itself has ample toilets and brightly coloured showers. Jo's home baked scones are to die for. The village itself is a two minute walk, with plenty of shops to keep you fed watered, with the pub very friendly. Walks are a plenty, the south west coastal path is 15 mins from the site. Walks to kynance cove and cagdwith are a spectacular. A must visit campsite to experience, you wont be disappointed.

We stayed at Henry's for 4 blissful nights in early July. We found it to be a quirky but amazing, idyllic and magical site - although I suspect it may be the case that you either 'get' Henry's, or you don't. The fabulous weather probably helped, but we just got a feeling as soon as we arrived here that this is a very special place indeed.
The site is very conveniently nestled right in the Lizard Village (the southernmost village in mainland Britain), literally within a minutes walk of the village green, shops and pubs - yet it is very tranquil and feels like a remote, secret hideaway. It is so quiet you can hear the waves crashing on the shore way below and there is no light pollution so the night sky is bright with stars.
Although the site is on a slope it has been cleverly set out so that the pitches are all very level and most have panoramic sea views. The pitches feel quite secluded and private as they are laid out in separate 'bays', surrounded by traditional Cornish stone walls and standing stones. This also means that although the site is set back on a cliff top you are actually quite sheltered. Our lovely grassy green pitch was plenty big enough to accommodate our Outwell Troutlake and there was loads of room to park the car. We had our own private walled 'back garden' and couldn't even see the pitches on either side.
The pitches are well maintained and the site is more like a wild garden than a campsite. There is a profusion of colour: pretty native plants (grasses, flowers such as Campion & Foxgloves), trees and shrubs grow in and amongst the stone walls and more unusual sub-tropical species give added interest. Flags, art and sculpture are everywhere and you can tell that a lot of hard work has gone into making this site what it is.
Although it is not a working farm, chickens have the run of the site and there are also pens of ducks and pigs.
The slightly ramshackle old farm buildings and higgledy-piggeldy toilet/shower/dishwashing facilities may not be to everyone's liking, but for me it all adds to the charm. There are 3 smallish unisex toilet/shower blocks, each housing a shower or two and a couple of toilets and wash basins. If you like immaculate, shiny facilities you will be disappointed but they are generally kept clean and are more than adequate. It is worth mentioning that he showers cost 20p for 2 minutes – even I found that I needed longer, so take enough 20p coins into the shower with you.
There is an on site shop stocking a good range of products, they will freeze ice blocks for you and have a washing machine and phone / battery charging facilities. Jo makes fresh scones every day and you can buy lovely hot coffee and even jugs of cider. Fire braziers are also available to hire and logs are on sale for an evening campfire. 'Reception' (basically the owner's kitchen) and the shop seem to be permanently open and the owners (Ron & Jo) are always about, with a smile and a greeting. This is the sort of place where people look you in the eye, say good morning and stop for a chat; there is a very convivial, friendly atmosphere.
The Lizard Peninsular itself is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is unique, unspoiled and stunningly beautiful; home to many of Britain’s rarest plants and wildlife, quaint harbours, fishing villages, rugged cliffs and beautiful coves. There are plenty of walks from the site on the South Coast path; I would recommend the one to Cadgwith Cove (approx 2 miles one way) where you can buy fresh fish straight from the fishing boats. Ann's pasty shop in the Lizard village makes the best pasties in Cornwall (and therefore by definition in the world) and there is a great butchers / deli (try the hogs pudding for breakfast, it is yum). Polpeor cafe on Lizard Point is a must, it is BYO and you can enjoy a seafood dinner on the outside terrace with amazing sea views.
There are certain places you stumble upon every so often that stick in your memory and your consciousness. Places like this restore your faith in human nature, in life. They are all too rare, but Henry's is definitely one of them and all credit to Ron and Jo for that.

Henry's - a stunning quirky campsite, that I don't really want to share! Pitches are all different shapes and sizes, some surrounded by shurbs, others within granite posts, excellent views. Have been here a few times (as we're local) and always had great weather and a great reception.
The owners work really hard to keep the site clean and tidy and always stop for a chat (if they have time). Facilities are a bit 'old hat' but they all work, are clean and lots of hot water (20p for shower, usually needed 40p).
There are pigs, chickens, guinea pigs around the site. Fire baskets to hire. Great fish and chips at chip shop, 5 mins walk away. If weather holds we're hoping to return in September for our last trip away this year.

What a little gem! We were a little hesitant having read some reviews about the toilets and shows and closeness to neighbours but I have to say after a fantastic 5 night stay myself, husband and toddler were gutted to leave! We aren't in anyway 'hippy' and were slightly worried we wouldn't like it but Jo and Ron although appear very 'hippy' themselves know exactly how to run a campsite and are very business astute not that they would like you tp tell them that!
There is a small but beautiful shop that stocks anything you could ever want (and has the bonus of being open until 10.30pm!) from fresh scones, eggs, ice pack service to Old Rosie cider sold by the jug (they have the jug!). Our electric cable tripped for some reason and Ron even offered for us to borrow one of his! Our toddler loved the chickens which wonder though the awning as if they own the place - highly amusing! We asked our son what was the best thing about his 2 week campervan holiday and he said 'the chickens'! The location is fab for walking and cycling and would recommend the fish and chip shop in the village centre - just fab!
There isn't enough room here to say how fab the site is - just go and visit it for yourselves!

We found Henrys Campsite as the coolest campsite in Cornwall and we were not disappointed. Set in an great location with wonderful views of the sea but just a stones throw from Lizard.
We went with friends and planned to walk some of the Coastal path. You could walk from the campsite to the Coastal path easily with Kynance Cove one way and the lighthouse and the point the other.
Henrys is completely laid-back. The owners were really kind and helpful and the little shop sold pretty much everything you might need.
It was a bit tricky to find initially and we ended up arriving later than planned which wasn't a problem for the owners.
The pitches were fantastic. Our one was surrounded by a lovely Cornish stone hedge and had it's own picnic bench. The stone Walls were high so did keep some of the wind out. You could hire off the ground baskets to have an open fire a couple of times. Showers and toilets were basic but clean. However putting coins in the meter was annoying.
The animals around the campsite were lovely to see. The pig playing football with the children had to be the funniest.
The short walk into Lizard was convenient with a couple of good pubs, great butcher for BBQ meat, good cafe for breakfast and a fish and chip shop.
Absolutely loved this campsite, would definitely recommend and was perfect for walking the Coastal path.

An excellent, interesting and rewarding site whose layout ensures privacy, shelter and encourages an air of calm and tranquillity. All facilities were fine and worked well, the fact that they are often surrounded by carvings and murals and interestingly laid out adds greatly to the charm of the site. Clearly much hard work over the years has made this the site that it is.
We visited both nearby pubs in the village and found them both to be welcoming and friendly, particularly the staff in the Top House. The site is ideally placed for the village amenities and is perfect for exploring the Lizard on foot.
Finally no review of this find of a place would be complete without a mention of Jo and Ron who provide the kind of welcome and level of service that appears genuine and effortless and totally complements the excellent location.

Amazing hospitality, just really warm people. They welcomed us in at the dead of the night, welcomed us into a beautiful pitch to ourselves, didn't mind we were a group of students and even gave us money off because we were. Ask for firewood if you need it, they are very willing to give away. And check out the praise music and mini bookshop in the toilet. Real history all over the site and amazing views in the morning. So unexpected and such a breath of fresh air to the commercialised northern coast campsites.

Well, well, well! What a truly amazing campsite! They don't come much better than this campers!
We spent a timeless 2 nights here, so relaxing. Ron and Jo are truly great people, doing truly great things.
This is not the kind of campsite that could have opened over night - it has evolved into what I can only describe as a sub-tropical, sculptural, artistic masterpiece. Standing stones, granite walling, stunning plant life, and at night creative lighting.
Henry's is completely individual, unique, amazing. The passion injected into this place oozes through every nook and cranny.
Well done Ron and Jo - can't wait for our next visit - this place is too special for words.
If you like regimental, rule-laden, immaculately mown square, soul-less campsites, then don't go to Henry's!
If you want to leave your stresses behind, and get back in touch with nature, and the real importance of life, then Henry's will be just the place to go.

This is the best campsite we've been to. We toured Cornwall for our 3 week getaway in 2009, and the memories of this quirky campsite are still vivid.
The chicks roaming around where lovely, drove our dog wild though! Thought I'd have a problem with unisex facilities but they were fine. Some great walks, then back to the campsite for a chillout evening watching the sun go down.
Haven't found that chillout feeling at any other campsite we've so far stayed at!

Just arrived back form Henrys. We are a couple who went alone with a large tent for two weeks. We had a great time. Most of the time quiet. Ron and Jo are very friendly and helpful. Even though sometimes you are close to others you still can feel secluded as the way the site is laid out. Facilities are above average.
We found the top house pub to be very friendly and felt like a local by the time we left, they did basic pub grub but it was ok and good value.
If you want supermarkets Helston is your best bet as the local one is over priced. You have the choice of a 24hr Tesco,Lidl or Somerfield. Cadgwith has a fish seller run by local fishermen open from 3pm till 6pm.
Falmouth and Penzance are near the same distance away, Penzance being easier to park though. Day trips to the Scilly Isles from here either by ferry or helicopter.
Sennen Cove near Lands End is worth a vist as is Praa Sands. Mullion Cove is lovely.
