Great site, all staff are friendly, good pub serving food, campsite is kept really nice & tidy with level pitches. There is 1 downfall which is the toilets, there's only 2 & 2 showers in the ladies & are not kept very clean. Nice play area for the kids & also a nice little swimming pool. Also a very good field to exercise your dogs on.
Shops are about 10mns away.
On the whole we enjoyed our stay at upton barn, everyone was friendly & we will go again.

Spent 3 nights here on a midweek deal for £50 to include 2 adults, 2 kids, caravan and 10 amp EHU. Additional £10 paid on arrival for the security key fob, which is refunded when you leave. No additional charges for dogs, awnings etc.
Good Points:
- Friendly welcome, pleasant people who run the site
- Swimming pool which if a little small, was nice and warm and the kids loved it
- Peaceful and quiet
- Nice location, handy for a long weekend for us
- Fishing lake which was well used and lots of fish being caught. (I know nothing about fishing but the anglers seemed happy)
- Well laid out spacious pitches
- Restaurant and bar area with outside seating if needed. Restaurant was a tad pricey but the service was good and the food was nice.
- Brilliant fish and chip shop at Market Bosworth. This place has won awards and does deserve them.
Bad Points:
- Shower/toilet facilities were not clean and were VERY dated and basic. The floors were wet, dirty and slippery and there were only 2 showers and 2 toilets in both the mens and womens - with 45 pitches on site, this is simply not enough. The ladies showers were so grotty on the third morning of our stay, I decided to leave having my shower until I got home!
- Nowhere on site to even buy a newspaper or a bottle of milk.
- Elsan waste area was old, filthy and smelly
We left feeling this is an 'if only' kind of site. Money spent on improving and extending the shower/toilet blocks and Elsan waste point would make this a 'return again and again' place for us. Overall 6/10.

Got back yesterday from here and I have to say that before I'd even left I'd already booked my next visit.
The staff were friendly and made you very welcome the food was good my kids loved the pool and the park. We made some great friends there over the 4day stay and my daughter made friends with the owners granddaughter they made her more than welcome playing in their garden it was a great site for families and I cant wait to go back!
Its true what they say come as a visitor leave as a friend. Yes the loo's are in need of updating but they are always clean.
The only problem I had was wasps but that is through no fault of the owners and as soon as they became aware of a nest they dealt with it! all in all a fantastic place to stay!the pitches were well spaced out and the field was well kept and maintained with plenty of water points and the waste water and elsan points were close by they provided a washing up point for campers.
There is always a member of staff on hand on the field and security is brilliant

Came here when the weather was bad in the summer holidays, the pitches themselves are decent enough, but don't tend to drain brilliantly. There is a small payable pool on site but we didn't use it.
We did use the bar which was fine if not a little pricey, the toilets and showers however are in dire need of renovation, they wasn't dirty just very old. There is a fantastic chip shop that has won national awards a couple of miles away in bosworth

Just got back from a weekend at Upton Barn. Considered writing a long report but to be honest, so fed up with the place it's not worth the effort so I'll summarise with bullet points.
Pros:
* Nice enough location; fields well kept for both tents and caravans; water points ok; good play area for kids; lake looked ok if you like your fishing.
Cons:
* Toilet/shower blocks (both men and women) very very dated and not clean at all. No respect for privacy in womens (blokes taking little kids in whilst my partner was trying to shower despite the gents being literally next door).
* Despite apparently being a 'strict no-noise after 11pm' policy on site and the threat of immediate ejection from the site by the warden, it was blatantly obvious this was not the case.
* Lots of swearing from other groups, some of which at full volume, at all times of the day and night. Not good considering it's supposed to be a family site.
* Parties going on till all hours of the night with no respect for any other campers or caravanners.
* We rang the wardens out of hours number twice on the Saturday night/early Sunday morning as you're told to do so if you're experiencing any problems (this is printed on tickets given to you as you check in and is on numerous signs around the site). There was a tent containing a large group of teenagers/students that had been drinking throughout the day and were constantly using foul language despite young kids playing in the same field. We tolerated it during the day but when the noise levels were still ridiculous past midnight we rang the number for the first time. The warden visited but they started again as soon as he'd left. The second time we rang (gone 1 in the morning at this point!) no one came out.
* No active patrolling by any wardens, or certainly none that we saw over two days. As a result, the large gathering of teenagers/students that had set up in the tent field (apparently they don't allow such groups, according to one warden?!?) kept most of the tent field up all night on both the Friday and Saturday, plus left a mountain of rubbish that would have required a mini-skip to dispose of.
The site could really do with an overhaul for its facilities. If it had the toilet/shower block re-vamped and bought into the 21st century, plus had a warden system that was both visible and active during the day (and responded if called at night) then a lot of my critcisms would be solved. As it is, the site promises a lot but in all honesty fails to deliver. It's a shame as the location is nice, the fields were well maintained, and the noise from traffic around the area was non-existent. There is potential there to be a nice family site but too many negatives for us to consider returning at any point in the future.

Stayed here for one night only and the weather was a scorcher. Not really that impressed with the site though, children's play area was not bad but once our kids had played on it once they didn't want to go back to it again. The swimming pool didn't actually look too bad although I wouldn't fancy using it. Toilets are rather grim even though they were clean. Looks as though a lot of regulars use this site.
We were unfortunate to have a group a campers who practically took over the whole field, played rock music to everyone till quite late and were just general planks. They did spoil it for us as as much as we tried to relax we definitely weren't, which didn't help. We wont be in any rush to return here.

Disappointed with this very promising sounding site. Toilets for gents constituted two washbasins, two wc's and two showers although kept clean could definitely could do with up-dating.
The 'swimming pool' is very small (about 40'x14').
The ELSON point was disgusting when I used it on 19th July 09.
There is no shop on site or near by, we had to drive to Nuneaton to find decent shopping facilities, and for £18.00 per night (10 amp elec) we expected better.
On the plus side the pitches are spacious and level and the staff are fantastic, the bar sells excellent beer and the bar meals are good as to are the meals in the on-site restaurant.
Great pity about the toilets and no shop

Recently visited this site and although its not the Ritz it is very friendly the staff always on hand to help. The toilet blocks do need some updating- but were clean with plenty of paper and showers were hot. There is a play area for kids- my five year old loved this.Excellent pond for fishing-which hubby loved as for myself it was nice to go to a friendly site where you can keep your eye on not only the little ones but dads too.
There is no shop on site but was directed to the village shop about 1 1/2 miles away or Morrisons at Hinckley 5 miles.
We didn't use the on site snack bar/restaurant but I was informed by other campers that the restaurant on site was good value for money and portion size.
Again the on site pool is dated but clean-we thought we would give it a go-it was very warm £2.50 per adult and £1.50 for a child for 2hrs.
On entering Upton Barn you do pay £10 for a key fob for the security gate refunded at the end of the stay- I thought a good idea! Ideal place to stay for local attractions Twycross Zoo Bosworth Battlefield, Conkers. Overall I would recommend this site and I am looking forward to revisiting again soon.

Just got back, absolutely loved it!
There are waste disposal points and places to wash up, I can only assume the below reviewer didn't go looking for it?
Hot water and plenty of it, the Toilet blocks etc are always clean and I didn't have any issue brushing my teeth either?
Fishing was good, and reasonably priced (I am rubbish, my own 8 and 11 year old daughters put me to shame (Again) )
Site well tended, and tidy. The kids play area is ideal for those between 5 - 12 I would say.
The food in the attached barn restaurant was just absolutely incredible. You go expecting a 'Ok' bar snack, and end up with a home cooked masterpiece! I spent less than £25 for a family of four and we were all full up!
I didn't personally go in the pool but the kids did. No issues from what they said ?
We're going again! Perfect for that 'escape from the hum drum ' Monday to Friday drudge.

Toilets not great need a clean. Did not use the pool but sister-in-law had and said it was a bit grim and expensive for what it was. Site had large lots of caravans. Staff friendly except the guy who collects the charges on his quad. Good little pub and great play area for the kids. Fishing pond had a slick on it would say fuel of some sort. Security barriers hard to get a vehicle on or off site (had to walk down to the pub and back to vehicle) if you don't get the fob think it was a £10 deposit.
