We love it at Upton, yes the showers and toilets need to be modernised, but you really feel you have this farm in the middle of now where all to yourself. The family owners can't do enough for you. Never over crowded and always very welcoming, seems to bring out the happy camper in you, a good mix of families, and young people, never too rowdy but always up for a good night in the bar.

A lovely site, run by lovely people. The new playground is ideal for slightly older children (5 - 12).
The toilet block is very basic, a bit smelly and in need of a facelift. That being said the toilets worked and were clean, there was always paper and soap and the showers were hot. The main gripe was the lack of cold water at the sinks for teeth cleaning.
We were surprised to find that there were no washing up facilities at all - and the vanity sinks in the toilets were too small (water wasn't really hot enough either). We washed up at the tent, but there wasn't anywhere to empty dirty water as the standpipes ran straight onto the ground, so no drains.
The restaurant attached to the site is great - good food, at reasonable prices. 8 of us had meals (the kids required adult meals as the kids meals were toddler portions) and we had two rounds of drinks - came to about £50.
They had an 80's disco on the Saturday night and karaoke on the Sunday - daughter really wanted to go to the karaoke but as it was raining incessantly we decided to go home a day early.
The swimming pool is very small, and didn't look particularly inviting - would have been OK though, but we thought the charges were a bit steep, given that for only about £5 more per family would could go to a leisure complex with flumes etc.
There is no shop on site, and nothing close as far as we could tell.
We had a daytrip to Conkers which was good, once we realised that the 'over 13s' assault course wasn't manned and therefore we could let our kids go on it. Without that the kids were a bit bored walking through forests. They did like the indoor area, but as it was the only dry day of our weekend we were loathe to let them linger in it.
It was a bit noisy on the Friday night with people returning from the bar (downside of a bar being on site?) - and it didn't help that the couple in the tent next to us had a humungous argument during which my 7yrs old learned some very choice words!
All that being said, we will certainly return to this site, hopefully when the weather is nicer as it was obvious that had it been dry we would have been able to really chill while the kids played within site.

Stayed here for a weekend in May 2008.
The pitches are flat and large enough on this site,We had pitches backing onto the fishing pool(3 and 4)when we were there.
It is a good site for visiting surrounding areas with plenty of walks nearby.
The main let down for us was the toilet and shower facilities on site as they were very poor indeed and in urgent need of a revamp.
Cost per night was £18.00 with hook up and for this money I would expect investment in the toilet and shower facilities very soon.
The fish and chip shop in Market Bosworth is well worth a visit as the food is really good here.
Would I stay again?. NO. Not until the facilities have been modernised.

We have stayed at Upton many times. We only live a few miles away and tend to go there for our first trip of the year as we can nip back home if we forget anything.
Always have a good time here, there is a fishing lake, small indoor swimming pool and a children's play area.
There is not really alot around here but great for us. We have gone up there as well for bank holiday weekend especially May Day.

We visited this site in March 2008 on a rally with a Caravan Club we belong to. It is the third year we have been there.
The field is flat and well tended. There is a pool for fishing on site, you have to get a permit on site to use it. Not being a fisherman myself I dont know what the fishing is like, but there were a couple of people fishing it over the weekend.
There is a good children playground being built at the moment. It should be open in weeks.
There is a covered swimming pool, and this is the best part. It is heated and the thermometer in the water was reading 92 degrees. It was like swimming in a hot bath. All the kids on our rally loved it.
There is a barn that can be hired for functions and also a pub and restaurant on site. There are showers and toilets but I would advise you have your own sanitation as it is quit a way from the pitches and they are fairly basic but clean and usable.
There are no shops in the tiny village of Upton but Market Bosworth, Nuneaton and Atherstone are only a short drive away.
Twycross Zoo and The Bosworth Battlefield site are within easy driving distance for a trip out.
The site owners were very helpful and pleasant and we will definitely be going there againe.
