Just spent a long weekend here in our camper van, man what a find. First off, Andy the owner is a top guy, the site facilities are ample and adequate, the showers and toilets are built in wooden sheds and are kept clean and tidy. The field is perfectly level and has hard standing and grass pitches, we opted for EHU and was surprised to find a pitch right by the river, literally 10 feet away, and to top it all Andy the owner allows camp fires, but they have to be contained in an old cut in half oil drum, not a problem though.
We read reviews for this site before we went so we were armed with three bags of logs in readiness, man the wife couldn't wait for it to get dark. On the friday night we had a camp fire with the obligatory toasted marsmallows and all the latecomers were looking at us as though we were doing something wrong, but then on the Saturday night the whole row of campers by the river had roaring log fires toasting marshmallows.
Nothing there apart from sheer peace and quiet, the animal and owl noises at night were great. Daytime we cycled into brecon, lovely ride through real quiet country lanes, took about 30mins. There is a small community of seasonal caravaners there and you can see they all get on very well, only down side, Dog owners who do not look after their dogs, most were kept on a leash but one was free to roam and cock his leg over anyones water barrel, most unhygienic.
If you are looking for a weekend peace and quiet, trust me you will love it. I just hope not too many people discover it.

Aberbran Fawr Farm is easy to find off the A40 near Brecon. Check in at the farmhouse and then pitch-up in the field on the left beside the River Usk. The field is level with short grass and has electrical hook-ups down one side. Facilities are basic but clean - there is no hot water tap for washing up but the two private shower rooms have free hot showers and include a toilet, sink and plenty of coat hooks. There are two other self-contained toilet and sink units. Andy (the Farmer) is an excellent host and provided a fire pit and logs to enjoy a real camp fire beside our tent; he also sells fresh eggs from the farm. There are a couple of rope swings hanging from trees near the river which our children enjoyed playing on. This is a very relaxed site with friendly campers, some of whom return each year.
There are several footpaths nearby. If you walk over the bridge beside the site and continue to the next farm house, you'll see an ancient pedestrian only 'stone and earth' bridge on the right crossing 'Nant Bran' stream. The footpath then continues through some fields in the direction of Aberyscir. We stayed in August so the PYO season was coming to an end, but would not hesitate to return again to enjoy this site.

Don't want to share it but a brilliant site. Owners very helpful and always there despite running a busy farm. Spotless facilities, two showers and four toilets. Beautiful location for great walks in brecon beacons, brecon near for good shops. Kids love the river and campfires welcome. Loved it and will be back if they have space. Thanks for a great time

We have just got back from a 2 night stay on this site. We were very impressed. It is very basic surrounded by beautiful scenery and I haveto say sat around the camp fire watching the night sky full of stars was idelic we don't see stars like that around the built up Midlands!
The toilets and showers are in purpose built sheds, they could do with up dating but are very clean and are all you really need for a back to basics holiday!
There were a LOT of moths in there. I know this isn't the campsites fault. But I hate moths so sat on loo in dark!
There could do with being a few more toilets and showers too. On the Thurs night it was quiet so didn't bother us much but Friday night got quite busy so there was an occasional wait. I am nit picking here, because we would return to this site in a heart beat.

Just spent three nights here, given the recent atrocious weather the field is holding up well. We had a choice of ehu but eventually chose to park next to the river without electric. Very peaceful and set in stunning scenery. Plenty of room for kids to play.
Toilet and shower facilities adequate and served thier purpose, showers are free with plenty of hot water. One little problem - no running hot water to wash dishes- but that was easily overcome.
Great to have a campfire.
We went to the PYO and picked a load of broad beans for the family, our grandson thought this was great, pity there weren't any stawberrys available at that time.
Brecon is 5 minutes away by car, 10 minutes by local bus, which is available from the top of the lane.
Plenty to do and see in and around Brecon and we spent a great three hours on Brecon canal in a rented boat [ £45 quid for 3 hours].
Would visit this site again especially in soft fruit season.

We had a really lovely holiday here.
The campsite was really easy to find and the owners were very friendly.
We stayed for 4 nights and it got busy towards the end. However it was fine with lots of people there.
A big treat was being able to have a camp fire in an old cut in half oil drum. My only gripe was that someone nicked our bricks from under the drum while we were out!
Understandably the owner doesn't like burnt patches all over the site but was very helpful and we found some more stones to prop it up on.
We bought eggs and logs from the owner.
Dogs are allowed and it was great to take mine.
We found this campsite to be in a great location.
A short drive to the mountain Pen-y-fan, in the other direction The Red Kite feeding station and it was close to Brecon.
There were only a few toilet/shower facilities housed in wooden sheds, but they were clean and never seemed to be too busy.
I will definitely go back here. It's one of those gems you don't find very often. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a lovely long weekend at this site. We had high hopes after the reviews and we weren't disappointed. This is just a fab location that offers so much, and unlike other sites with all the fancy pubs and entertainment, this was good old fashioned getting away from it all. Sure the toilets and showers need updating, but they are functional, and after speaking with the owner Andy (who is a top guy) this will be done when the planners allow it.
We had two units in our party, 4 adults, 4 children aged between 8 and 4 and we all loved it. The kids had a blast playing by the river and fetching logs for our campfire. The evenings were spent around said campfire how great was that in these days of rules and regs. All of this while surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
We will be back.
PS I have only marked child friendliness down because the river is close by, this could be a concern for toddlers

The site is on a farm (live stock) and also fresh fruit when in season, andy and Kay the owners are very friendly, and will always help if they can, toilets are basic but clean, shower are clean and free and plenty of hot water,
The site is on level field beside the river usk.
The nearest town is Brecon and also shops are in Brecon, fresh farm produce is available from farm.
Ideal location for walking the beacons.
Andy allows camp fire's but they must be in a bin Andy will supply these

Great site. Clean shower and toilet.
Had a fire and pitched next to the river, great for having a few evening beers after walking for 12 miles over the Brecons. The site has good views of hills and open fields, which makes for a relaxed stay
Owner was friendly and helpful.
If in the area would stop here again.

The Bagnalls are quite right but if you look on the website and the locations link, this is all explained. On the google map, check the push pins out for full instructions.
We have been staying there for the last four years (seasonal) and we love it, we live approx 30 miles from the site and are here every free moment.
I often go on the internet on site via laptop and mobile (orange) no problems. As for Fires Andy will provide a bin to have a fire in, that of course does not mean you can go chopping trees down, there is always plenty of wood lying around, we have a chimnea and use preformed coal Briquettes (maxibrite) and find one bucket of coal will burn all night and get the chimnea red hot great for toasting them marshmallows on bring on the (Red)
