Really disappointed with this site. Their website gave the impression of a tidy, well maintained camp site. However this was not the case. We paid £29 per night for a grass pitch, with electric hookup and porch awning. The pitches were extremely cramped - we had to park our car in the visitors car park as there was not enough room for the caravan, awning and car.

Having a small child we welcomed the opportunity to have a pitch adjacent to the playpark and toilet/shower block. The toilet/shower block was in a terrible condition - damp, grubby, holes in the ceiling, chunks of plaster coming away from the wall and overrun with dead spiders (daddy long legs!) The dish washing facilities were poor - dirty with an off putting odour, which was probably coming from congealed/rotten food stuck around the lid of the bin - there on day 1 of our holiday and still there on day 5.

The focus of this site seemed to be the many static caravans. St Andrews is a fantastic holiday location - loads to do, whatever age, but I would not stay at this site again. Such a pity, as the location was excellent but did not offer good value for money.

We have just returned from a long weekend at this site, not very impressed with the shower/toilets in field 1 these were outdated and in need of a major overhaul (although field 2 looked newer). Paid for an awning total for 3 nights £81 but weather was far too windy to erect so a very expensive holiday and this was for only electric (10 amp at that)

The clubhouse was good with great entertainment on both nights (although ryder cup was on but large tv was put on in sitting/lounge area for those who wanted to watch it so was much appreciated. Staff in clubhouse & restaurant were nice and friendly so no complaints there and restaurant on site was good and excellently priced.

Didn't have kids young enough with us to utilise the playpark but this looks new and very nice, room in clubhouse which housed pool table/games etc which was greatly used by kids in our company and they had no complaints there. I must say felt very let down by being informed that we were not allowed to take bbq due to health & safety advice to find 2 bbq's sitting behind 2 caravans that are there for the season! We have not ruled out returning but please renovate your shower/toilet facilities. Thanks

This is a nice site with great views over St Andrews but when we arrived they had double booked our pitch they then offered us our money back as it was Easter weekend at 4 pm I sked them how they thought we would find somewhere else at such short notice so they went to look for another pitch for us and we got one. They also have regular patrols around the park witch looks good but they don't seem o do anything as on the sunday when we were out for the day high winds got up and ripped our canopy and even blew out wind breaks down and no staff seemed to bother it used to be when camping the staff on site or even the campers next to you would have helped out in situation like this but not on this site. As for the site itself it has nice bar and restaurant with good food and entertainment and good play park for children and very clean and tidy but is no good for tents only caravans and motorhomes and even then it is not very flat.

 Unit=folding camper

We visited St Andrews for a holiday around my brother's wedding. It is a gorgeous town and the location of this site is perfect for exploring. Our folding camper was put through its paces in high winds but we were ok with storm straps on the awning - it is an exposed location. We asked to be situated away from the club house in the far field. It is on a gentle slope but we pitched up fine and the awning was ok. You get allocated a generously sized well-defined plot.

The shower and toilet facilities were adequate - there was always a warm shower to be had and they did keep them reasonably clean.

The playground was fine for my 3 year old turning 4 soon after.

We didn't use any of the other site facilities - we don't generally use such things, but chose the site for its proximity to town.

It was a quiet time with children in Scotland returning to school at the end of September, but nevertheless the middle weekend brought a group who'd come together and against the rules of the site decided to erect a gazebo and were arrogantly warning people they would be noisy. We reported this to the warden about the gazebo concerned for noise later on, so he visited them but let them keep it up for one night and made them take it down the next day. Inevitably we were kept up with noise.

We complained later on and they did nothing about the noise which was excessive, and at midnight I complained again and finally he agreed it was time to call time on them. So we have to be thankful they were willing to do something later on, but really this should have been avoided had they enforced the no gazebo rule in the first place as the people basically got away with their plan to flout the rules and party away. Despite this, this was just one night. But I do think if parks have rules they should not shy away from enforcing them because people will return again and see what they can get away with at the expense of other campers.

However, all in all, if I was visiting St Andrews I would use this site again.

We stayed at this campsite for the first time this month. Having spoken to an unfriendly woman on the phone to make the reservation, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly night-watchman who greeted us and apologised for having to take money on our arrival (£10 deposit per toilet key, which we knew about). As it had rained for 2 days solid prior to our visit, we were relieved to see we were at the top of the hill and our pitch was not too muddy.

The toilet block was basic and would probably have been clean if I had not showered after a group of about 30 kids (very well behaved ones though)! Its not the most modern, but was adequate.

The strong points of the site are

1) Panoramic view

2) Clubhouse entertainment excellent (we saw

Jay Jackson who was fantastic!)

3) Meals and carry out service from clubhouse

really good value. Great service and

friendly atmosphere. We would definitely go

back to the restaurant.

4) Sky Sports showing football and other sports

in bar

5) Swimming pool/gym/steam room and squash

courts just outside site - 5 mins walk from

our caravan.

6) Games room with pool tables

We will definitely be back to this site - despite the complete lack of customer service from the woman at reception. All other staff were friendly and helpful.

Second year visiting this site my partner is disabled we choose this site for it being close to st Andrews. Site is geared up for statics, motorhomes and caravans so not a lot of space for tents, the official area for tents with electrical hook up is right next door to the bar which is rather noisy. As my partner is disabled there is no disabled shower/toilet at this tent area so we where put into the second tour field next to the disabled toilet ( be warned they have only three keys for the disabled shower/toilet so even though you have put down as one member of your family is disabled you still have to say and ask to book a key) The views are fantastic from the top of the field where we are. We found the site very helpful with placing us near the disabled access loo that we needed to be near. The site is very dog friendly which our child adored. Very clean loo in disabled loo & shower needs some pumping to get it going but it is still very usable.

A huge site mainly given over to static caravans.

We were last here about four years ago, so, being aware of the noise at the first touring area next to the club, we booked a pitch in the main touring park at the far end of the site. As well as being rather noisy, the first touring area looks rather congested but it has decent views.

The view over St Andrews bay from the main touring area is blocked by a line of trees, although there is a bit of a view from the top end of the site.

The toilet block here has been refurbished since our last visit, but spoiled by choked shower drains, lights that only seem to come on at night, no coat hooks on toilet doors and no escape for the steam from the showers. The interior door is accessed by key code and looks like it has been recovered form a skip.

A huge concrete pad outside (motorhome service point?) has three grey water drains and all were choked.

We did however find the staff very friendly, but obviously the site is geared towards statics rather than tourers.

The only reason to visit here was to see St Andrews again. A beautiful town with lots of facilities.

I don't think we are likely to be back at this site, although we have been coming here for over fifty years.

Spent a long weekend here and that was long enough, small pitches, on a steep hill, grass pitches, this sit is more set up for statics.

Toilets were cold and in need of modernisation/demolition. Not that clean either.

Was a bit disappointed with this site, kids play ground was more for younger kids and as its on the top of a hill it was always cold and windy,

Plus sides, 2 mins from St Andrews, path right down to the beach, cant think of any more than that!

For what we got it was a bit expensive and don't think it would survive if it wasn't so close to the town.

Wont be going back there again.

We parked the caravan in the new area on the far upper side of this large caravan site. The views over the East sands beach and St Andrews were spectacular. St Andrews is a beautiful historic town and only 15mins to the centre on bikes.

There was a good swimming pool at the bottom of the site for the kids with a slide run by Fife council.

The toilet block in this far area of the site was new and kept very clean. The shop was well stocked but remember to order morning rolls.

The site is on a steep slope and I never managed to properly level the caravan. I needed a small ramp for the lower side wheel. Also, being on a cliff the strong wind will pick up fast.

A good site for fresh air and views but don't park near the club if you have children because it can get noisy and the games room is extortionate. Will return.

We spent a couple of nights at Kinkell Braes early September.

The site has a great position very close to St Andrews town centre (15-20min walk) with great views over the East Sands.

We were in Touring field 1 which is closest to the bar. Remember your blocks as the field has a gradual slope. The toilet and shower areas, although working, are very old.

If you arrive after 5 you are 'greeted' by the night warden. What a happy soul he is. Not! We arrived at half past 5 where we were told we were 'just along the front of the field, numbers on the posts, oh aye and its a tenner for the toilet key'. On hooking up. No electricity, so back to the warden to let him know to which I was asked ' are you sure its no your van?' When I assured him it wasn't then he came and switched the electricity on from the distribution board.

The staff in the reception the next day were far more friendly and made you feel more welcome so just try and get there before 5 :-)

All in all a great weekend in not so great weather.
