We visited Meadowfield Gardens last weekend as part of a rally organised by Trent Valley District Association.

What a surprise, the site was flat, and well maintained. It was great to have the goats, hens and ducks around (in their enclosures not wandering).

The toilet block was very well kept and I believe it contained a shower as well though we used our caravan shower.

The owners came around to check that everything was to our satisfaction and ask if everything was ok.

Brownhills Motor homes is about a 15min drive away and Southwell is about a 5 min drive away, so the site is in a good location for visiting several places, including Newark Showground.

We visited the Crown in which is just a few minutes walk away and enjoyed a good meal.

We would certainly stay again.

This is a fantastic little site in a charming little village. We loved it so much we extended our stay by over a week. Meadowfields is a relatively 'new' site with electric hook up for 5 caravans. Its owners Tony and Rachel are friendly and relaxed and provided a warm welcome. The site itself is in the beautiful gardens of the owners grounds surrounded by mature trees and a pond that you can fish in. It has a male and female toilet which are both kept spotlessly clean and a separate shower that provides hot water (you pay extra for the shower).

The village of Rolleston has one pub (The Crown) which is about a 15 min walk away and drinks are very rasonably priced especially between 5-6.30 during the week. We found this to be a very friendly place although is more of a bistro than typical pub. In the other direction is the Bromley Arms pub right by the river Trent which serves a selection of cask ales and food, unfortunately it does require walking at the side of a busy road.

The site itself is close to Southwell, Newark and Nottingham as well as many other attractions locally. You can also buy local produce from the owners such as home-made jam and fresh eggs.

Overall this is a fantastic place to stay if you require peace and quiet in a friendly environment.

We will definitely be returning in the near future to this wonderful little site.

We stayed here with friends last weekend and had a lovely time - the site is really quiet (well it was I think before my children arrived!) and well secluded. The owners were really friendly too and the kids loved pond dipping, watching the animals and playing in the small wood too.

We walked to the Bromley Arms on the side of the Trent - only about a ten minute walk and well worth it, especially on a sunny afternoon! We didn't make it to the other pub nearby in the village, as the weather was so good we had a bbq instead!

All in all a brill site - clean and well-kept and plenty to amuse the kids. A perfect place to get away from it all for the weekend - we definitely hope to go back.

We stayed with some friends at this extremely friendly camp site August bank holiday. The site is small (I think they only take about 18 tents) and all the tents pitch around the outside of this sheltered field, leaving plenty of space for the children to play in the middle (although there is no park, there is plenty of space).
There is one male and one female toilet but we had very little queueing and they are kept very clean and tidy. There is only one shower, again kept clean, the only criticism would be that you had to get the key to the shower from the house and if a big group had it, it got passed between them and so your wait would be a little longer. This did not ruin our break though because we usually spend time on camp in the morning and don't tend to rush about. The shower and toilets could do with little shelves in them, just to put your toiletry bags on, but otherwise they are a good size. There are no washing up facilities, but that just added to out camping experience.

There is a lovely pub down the road, fantastic food and right on the river, only a few minutes in the car and I would say about 25 minutes walk. It also has a village shop next to it with everything you would need.

All in all we would definitely visit again, John was absolutely fantastic, checking we were ok when the tents were up and usually having a chat on the way past!

Excellent site for cycle camping with small tent when testing new equipment.

Very sheltered with walks in the wooded areas.

Chickens goats rabbits and ducks and the scarecrows to talk to being a solo cyclist.

Free fishing in the pond

Tony and Rachel are great very helpful gave me a cuppa on arival.

Only probelm getting normal toilet paper to flush in the Potporta toilets.

Great site great people going back asap when tested gear is modified.

Mini market in Friskerton is not far away with picnic site and pub by the River Trent

Wow! had an great time the site had all we needed. Really good setting, big field, some hard standing, if that's what your after, but we set up next to the pond where I could do some fishing. This had a few nice carp and roach.
The chemical toilet was clean, water was nice and close by. We had a bbq where we had use of a picnic bench which were around the pond for people to use
Tony rachel and kelly were most welcoming, let us have tour round their greenhouse where they sell an assortment of plants. We bought some lovely bedding plants, also on site they have loads of chickens (not forgetting big george there cockerel) so eggs are available,

We had a trip down to the bromley inn situated right at the side of the trent, only about 5 mins away in a car where we had a nice meal. A good time was had by all I've recommended it to all my friends as I am to you and I plan to go back asap

Minimal no pubs or clubs on site, just quiet rural setting ideal if you just want to get away and have a quiet break like we did. There are two chemical toilets on site they are very clean, there are hook ups for caravans but not for tents, fresh drinking water on tap. The tent field is large and we were the first to tent there, the owners were lovely and very helpful, tony showed my kids the rabbits and chickens they have, they thought it was great.

Located between the caravan area and the tent field is a small pond with ducks on an island in the middle of the pond. The pond itself is stocked with carp and other types of fish we spent the day fishing and caught a couple, this is all in with the price, no extra cost to fish, my son loved it. Everyone there was so pleasant a truly great short break.

Loads to do at a short drive, minsters, rivers, quad biking, forest treks. Loads of places to eat drink and explore, great location.
