What a wonderful few days with the family, nice & peaceful, the owners could not do enough for you. This is a hidden gem away from the hustle & bustle of the fast life. Nice to have peace and tranquillity and we thank the owners for sharing this lovely place with us. We will return. Very easy for travelling and easy to get to places. The grandchildren loved the place and can't wait to return.
Thank you again.

Just back from a night at Bungdale Head Farm. It was our daughter's (2) first camping trip and we wanted somewhere quiet, with good views, space for little one to run round and something to occupy her. We couldn't have asked for more. There are two toilets which were spotless which is all we needed for one night away. The rates were really reasonable and a lovely warm welcome by the owners (despite the rain). The site was nice and quiet which is just what we wanted and fabulous views. With it being a working farm there was also the cows, sheep and dogs to keep our daughter happy. Couldn't have asked for more and safe to say my daughter loved camping. Would deffinately stay at this site again.

Just spent a lovely weekend at this great little site. Really friendly owners and a great position, with lovely views all around. Great walking, about 4 miles into Helmsley and 1. 5 miles to Rievaulx Abbey, both well worth a visit. Would highly recommend this little site and we are definitely going to re visit it again later in the year.

This has been my second visit to this site. For me its perfect, quiet and nicely away from towns and the associated hustle and bustle. The field is on a gentle slope but it is possible to get level, well with a motorhome it is. Nice views of the rural countryside all around. Friendly farmer. Facilities are just about adequate, which to be honest suits me just fine. There's a pub a few minutes away by car, you could walk there over the fields and through the woods if you are a walker. The Cleveland Way walk is close by. A nice quiet get away from it type of site. Don't go if you want the full package of kids swings and washing machines etc. I like this site, and hope you do.

We have a folding caravan and arrived a day late due to my car croaking, but I'd phoned to warn the owners and they were very understanding. The lady was lovely - it was my first time towing and she reversed the van into a nice, sheltered spot against the hedge for me. She provided a longer lead for EHU as ours was too short to reach!
Lovely little site, reasonably priced. The facilities are a bit basic - no showers - but we were only staying for a couple of nights, so we weren't bothered.
Short (and slightly damp) walk to the pub for a gourmet meal if you're into that.
Very kindly let us leave the van on site after check-out time so that we could visit the falconry centre up the road.
I would definitely recommend this site for a quiet getaway!

A lot has already been said about this campsite and we have to agree with the comments. We originally stayed the week before bank holiday for 5 nights and loved it so much that we returned for the bank holiday weekend for a further 4 nights. Even though it was busier there was still plenty of space the owners just opened another field! It really is a peaceful site and beautiful surroundings. Plenty of walks in the area and further afield. Because it is in a peaceful location you need to travel on the narrow roads but Helmsley has all you need and if you want a decent relatively cheap meal ( early bird before 7pm mon to fri) try the White Swan at Ampleforth. So ok the site doesn't have showers or playground but that was not a problem especially for our 2 children ages 8 & 7 who made their own entertainment. Despite being busy on the farm the owners were very friendly and took time out to talk to us and even showed my 8 yr old son the controls of the combined harvester. I think that others also extended their stay speaks volumes for this site. Selfishly I hope this site can retain its basic charm. Returning? - just trying to work out when!

Just returned from 3 fabulous nights at this peaceful campsite with our two children (2 and 4). The owners are extremely friendly without being intrusive, and we were given a pitch with plenty of room around for the children to play. You are very close to the small farm, and we had great fun feeding grass to the sheep and saying hello to the cows.
Although there are no showers and two toilets, there is plenty of space to give yourself a good scrub down at the sink should you want to, and even on the busy holiday weekend we didn't have to wait for the loo, so don't let it put you off.
This is proper camping - back to nature, friendly and peaceful. Thanks!

Lovely peaceful farm location on a hill with fantastic views and animals even the drive to it is fantastic. Very clean toilet block and large grass paddock behind the farm house so felt safe and secure on first camping trip with my children. If you love the countryside and exploring this place is for you its so tranquil and you don't have to use the car just explore the surrounding area if you want. We took and used bikes and visited the Abbey and Helmsley as well as walks in the forest through the sheep fields. Would go again and have recommended very reasonable prices and electric if you want it. A shower would be nice but not a problem for short stays.

Wow! From start to finish, what an excellent site and lovely, friendly, helpful owners!
My family met my Sister and brother-in-law at this site and what a great location. It was everything we wanted and the added benefits of great scenery, good walks and good routes to local town Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Thirsk.
The toilet facilities where kept clean at all times, good access to water waste and chemical waste points.
Nice clean site with EH points.
The kids loved it as much as us, the adults, did.
Will definitely be going back to this site again. Value for money.

We have just returned from this campsite and just had to let everyone know how beautiful it is! The views are incredible and as its a working farm we fell to sleep listening to the sheep that's the only noice we heard all night (bar the rain!)
helmsley is a gorgeous little town with plenty of pubs to visit for dinner and plenty to do we visited the castle and a abbey in one day.
The campsite has two spotless toilets and the owners where friendly, we had our 3 year old son with us and he loved seeing the animals
We will be back!
