This one of the best sites around. The owners are very friendly and are the best we have had on any site. It is a nice quiet site even though its near a village.
You can get nice fresh eggs at a good price. There is bus stop not far from the gates, also 2 park and rides close by which is good if you only have your motorhome because parking is free if you use the bus into York.
They also are dog friendly.

This is a wonderful site with a very helpful owner. I have been here twice this year and hoping to come again next year. I have been reading all the reviews and are all very good. Very handy for visiting York and by train to harrogate.

This popular site has much going for it. It is clean, tidy and well maintained. The pitches are generous in size and very level. There is free Wi-Fi on the site, that is fast, and many facilities close by including a Chinese Restaurant, Indian Restaurant and a Fish and Chip Shop. The bus into York is every half hour with the stop being about 200 yards away.
Though it wasn't an issue for us, this site does raise the old chestnut; Should grey waste go into the shrubs or down the CDP. Cherry Tree opted for the grey going into the CDP.

We have just returned from a most enjoyable 3 days at this site. It is easy to find and very well maintained. Our pitch had lovely open views and the pitches were well spaced apart. As mentioned in earlier reviews, the pitches are reinforced which would be a boon in wet weather. Free Wi Fi was available with details available in a useful welcome pack. The site is most convenient for the Poppleton Bar Park and Ride terminus where there is free parking and a very regular and fast service into York. This is much the most convenient way to visit, as city centre parking is expensive and the traffic is heavy and often congested. The owners were both friendly and efficient and we shall definitely return.

Just spent a couple of nights at this site and really enjoyed it, well maintained and spotlessly clean, very helpful owners and only a short walk to local pubs and restaurants shops etc, number 10 bus goes to york every 30 mins ( works out cheaper to buy a dayrider ticket). There are no toilet or shower facilities but that is made clear on the website. Will definitely go back.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this site
Very well maintained site with spacious pitches.
We wanted hard standing when we rang to book (we got a cancellation) there was none available, so were offered a reinforced grass pitch - fine for us.
We received a text to let us know our allocated pitch 'C' prior to arrival and a note on the gate upon arrival too, and the reinforced matting was duly laid out.
After a short time, the owner arrived and he gave us information on where everything was, he was friendly and very helpful.
The hut is full of useful information on the area and transport links, as well as an extra ehu cable etc
Yes the site doesn't have toilet/shower facilities, but we were aware of that when we booked and didn't need them, as we have our own.
Overall, this is a cracking little site in a great location with excellent public transport options for access to York. Excellent customer service from the owner and good value for money. We will certainly return again.

On arrival we were welcomed by the friendly proprietor and the site's facilities explained to us.
This small site is well planned and exceptionally well kept by the proprietors and ideal for anyone with their own toilet and shower facilities.
The lack of those facilities is not an issue for us and therefore not reflected in the assessment.
Good sized pitches on hard-standing with space for awning on grass if required.
Public transport into York is nearby.
In short, ideal for us, and we will be back next time we visit York.

Stayed for 3 nights in December. Tidy well maintained site, with spacious feel. Friendly owner was there to meet us on arrival. Level hardstanding pitches. Windy when we were there, but the weather was severe and it was December. Easy bus ride to York. Well serviced information hut. Fresh eggs when available. Even heater on the tap near us, to stop water freezing and lighted wc disposal. We would go back and recommend. The owner's take care of their site and it shows.

Cherry Tree Cottage is a delightful site and very easy to find. The layout is good and you have plenty of space for your unit and car. Ideal for a visit to York as close to a bus route and Park&Ride.
There is a kiosk full of local info and a book swap area.
Very good value for money and we hope to visit again soon.

Site is very clean and tidy, free range eggs to buy very tasty. Owner could not have been more helpful, he made us feel very welcome. Bus stops outside of site and runs every 30 minutes into York, also handy if you want to go to the races. Co-op shop at garage within walking distance for essentials. We will go back to this site. Enjoyed our 3 day stay. We went to the races on Saturday on the bus and returned by taxi after having a great day, taxi was £10. 00 so not bad, unfortunately we did not have any winners.
