Go there, if you want to visit the area and see the lovely city of Chester this is the site to stop at.
Its the most friendliest site weve ever been to, Sylvia and Mike introduced themselves and even had the decency to ask what our Christian names were and for the whole week they called us by them, we've never received this kind of hospitality anywhere else, its a family run friendly site who are interested in you enjoying yourself and always asking if everything is ok.
The price is well worth it, the site is brilliant, showers and toilets are immaculate, utility room with microwave, kettle, fridge etc to cater for tents is spot on. The fishing is good, just sat on big baits waiting for the decent fish to come along, dog walking is good, there's a cracking kebab house and chippy in Elesmere.
I could go on all night about the site, but why, go there and find out for yourself you won't regret it.
We would not hesitate to return to Trench Farm

This is a great campsite and Mike & Sylvia who own it are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. Stayed here last weekend for the 1st time and have booked to go again this weekend.
Being new to caravanning we did try last time we were here to put up the awning (1st attempt) only to find that it didn't come with any pegs to hold it down (you never stop learning)
Big thanks to Ray a seasoned caravanner who, when we were leaving Trench Farm, gave us a large bag of awning pegs after hearing of our problem.
Facilities are spotlessly clean here and the showers are always hot, however if you like to linger in the shower the lights are on a timer, so you may well end up in the dark looking for your shampoo.
Fishing is very good here if your into it and despite not having a play area for the kids there is plenty of space for them to run around and explore.
There is also a pub 2mins walk up the road from the site.

Nice clean site, fishing not up to much, lots of small fish,
when we arrived we were advised to stay off the grass with the awning. the hardstanding was very precarious. then we see people driving over the grass to park and pitch their caravans, seemed a shame because our caravan was near the entrance and it was obvious nobody could pitch there next to us yet we could not make use of the grass.
There is not a lot to do if the weather is bad we ended up leaving a day earlier.
A short drive takes you to the shops takeaways etc nice site but don't think we will visit again.

First time at this lovely little site. Even though the weather was a little inclement we were able to pitch on one of the 5 hardstandings.
The facilities were spotless with an indoor dish washing area with plenty of hot water. There are only 3 showers, one each for men and women and a shower for the partially disabled. Again spotless.
The grassed area has 50% EHU and is pitched in a round field. Other reviewers have mentioned the various additional facilities such as fridge etc and these seemed more than adequate for both caravanners and tenters.
Well situated, in easy driving distance to Ellesmere or Wrexham or even Shrewsbury if the mood takes you.
All in all an enjoyable quiet few days to get back into the swing of things.

Very helpful owners who are also very proud of their site and keep it in pristine condition - we saw one camper being castigated for not clearing up properly after their dog, so beware!
We met up with my daughter and grandson for a four night stay at the beginning of the school holidays and were fortune enough to pitch up side by side, us with hook up and them without (their choice). Although there is no designated play area for children there is plenty of room for bike riding and ball games. We had some fun and exercise with a frisby and a set of boules.
Ellesmere is nearby and has a good selection of shops. The fishing was a little disappointing but that could just have been the time of year. It is very quiet at night and there is very little light pollution. All in all a very nice site which we wouldn't hesitate to return to if we are in that area.

Hi went to trench farm this weekend for the first time what a place cant fault it. The entrance is good from both directions. Toilets and showers are spotless water always hot.
Pitches are a good size with electric and water so no carrying water we only saw Sylvia as hubby was recovering from an op lovely lady very helpful makes you feel right at home.
The walk ways round the pools are a pleasure nice mown grass every bit of it is spotless. The pools are well stocked and good size fish. I don't fish much but I had 5.
Ellesmere is about 2 miles away a nice country town with shops on the high street. We thought we had found our favourite site but this one tops it.
We are going back every chance we get

We stayed at Trench Farm for a single Saturday night en-route to a longer break in Wales.
The site is easy to find and the postcode will take you a few hundred metres away from the gate - just keep going straight on.
Important note, unless you're a dab hand at reversing a caravan, don't drive right into the farm yard to check in at reception, wait right at the gate as the entrance to the touring field is almost immediately on the road.
Sylvia came out to meet us and walked us to our pitch helping me reverse. She then showed us were the facilities were - luckily for us, right behind our van :)
It's a lovely quiet site with no kids play facilities. The majority of people looked to be there to chill, enjoy the country silence and tranquillity. Many had friendly dogs pegged next to their vans.
Our three kids were desperate to get out of the car and run around after their short journey so we let them have an explore around but were wary that they were the only kids and were breaking the silence.
Before we left for dinner we hired a fire pit, bought some logs and paid our site fees for the night(reasonable).
We went into Ellesmere nearby for our evening meal and after scouting around the pubs, hotels and restaurants on offer we chose the excellent Thai restaurant and were delighted when our kids thought it was great too. Ellesmere also has a Spar and Co-op so good to get the provisions in.
Back at the site as the sun set we lit up the fire pit and enjoyed toasting marsh mallows and some snags with a nice bottle of wine. Mike (the partner of Sylvia) was making his evening rounds making sure all was well. He spent a pleasant 15-minutes catching up with us around our fire pit. They're rightly proud of the site they built from nothing over the last years.
The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate. There's one shower in the gents and a second shower in the ladies. No charge.
The kitchen area had a large table, fridge, freezer, beer chiller, kettle, microwave, lots of local literature, a library of swap books and a good folder containing details of local pubs, restaurants and take-aways that deliver.
Also available is a washing machine and tumble dryer that can be used any time by paying an extra fee direct to the owners.
There is fishing available directly on site and we had a try for a couple of hours on the Sunday morning in the pond nearest the entrance. We didn't even get a bite but it was obvious there was plenty of life in the ponds. The ponds are also well gated off and sign-posted to prevent under-16's direct access without supervision.
All in all a spotless, lovely site with great owners. I noted that everyone who passed our van also said 'hi' and gave a nice welcome.
The only downside was that there was not so much for kids to do.

Hi went to trench farm at the start of school holidays and we thought it was absolutely brill.
The owners Silvia & Mike are really friendly and laid back.
We took our two Labrador puppies and they loved all the open fields to run in. The toilet and shower block is very clean and the showers are lovely and hot.
The main field is great and very spacious it is also nice and level.
All the other people where nice and friendly and the added bonus of open fires was nice. The three fishing lakes were really good and very close to the main field.
I did fish and managed to catch a couple of decent carp. I would recommend anybody to try this site for a peaceful getaway in the countryside.

Just got back from a weekend at this site. What a great site it was.
The toilet block was nice and clean and had plenty of loo rolls the showers were always hot and the block you used for washing your pots was out of this world it had a washing machine, dryer, a large table and chairs and books on walks and the local pubs and take aways.
The owners were very nice. The fishing was very good 3 good lakes. Didn't go of the site to any of the pubs took our own.
We will go back again soon

Nice campsite with clean toilets and shower block, ideal if you like fishing as the only activity on site. No play area or park close by but we over come this by packing a variety of toys and games. The only down side to this campsite is they charge an extra £7 a night for tents than caravans and when asked response was due to tents flattening the grass!
Tesco only five minutes down the road in the village of Ellesmere so can top up on essentials easily.
