Stayed here for four nights in the kids holidays and the site is very nice, ,
It is a work in progress as the owner is still building a toilet and shower block which I'm sure will be spot on, ,
Nice views from the site and fishing in with the price I'm told. £22 per night.
The surrounding area is spot on, nice little town down the road (west vale) doggy friendly pubs, do go to Elland bridge, cross it and get on the canal, this is a lovely two mile walk into brighouse all the way and you can stop off at the Colliers arm for lunch (doggy friendly)
All in all a very nice trip

We (2 of us) stayed for 2 nights on a weekend, pitched alongside friends who store their caravan here. It's a lovely site - very pretty indeed. There was a nice mix of other campers/caravanners - families, couples, and a group of younger people who had 4 or 5 tents between them, pitched down the hill from us. The whole atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed.
The owner is very friendly, helpful, and seemed to be on hand most of the time.
The toilet block is basic but clean, and the owner showed us the new block (ready in 2 weeks or so) which will contain wet rooms, pot wash and laundry area. Looks great.
Surrounding countryside is lovely, and there are some great walks and drives nearby. It's very close to Halifax and to the motorway should you need or want to go further afield. The village down the hill seems to have everything you'd need shop-wise.
There aren't any facilities specifically for children, such as a playground.
The cost was £20 per night including electric hook-up. We had no complaints whatsoever and wont hesitate to go back. Really handy for a quick weekend away for us :-)

We stayed for two very enjoyable nights at this site; the owner - very hands-on and seemingly always around - was helpful and approachable, and willing to offer guidance and advice about facilities and walking routes in the vicinity.
The site itself was attractively situated, quiet and offering a pleasing level of comfort and, it should be pointed out, soon to have a brand-new toilet/showers/washing-up facility, due for completion before the end of the summer.
The nearby village of West Vale, about 3/4 mile away was, from our point of view, best approached on foot by the pleasant streamside path laying below the bottom of the campsite, but could also easily be reached by road with pavements all the way.
This is an unpretentious village with, as far as we could make out, three cafes, two pubs and a decent Thai restaurant/takeaway. We sat in for a very reasonable 'early-bird' meal offer and it was excellent. There is no drinks licence, but I believe customers can bring their own.
However, the supposedly hourly buses we observed that can be caught from outside the campsite entrance, to either Halifax or Huddersfield, did not pass in accordance with the published timetables at the bus-stops being, in both directions, about 30 minutes awry. To be investigated.
All in all, a positive and restful experience and we will be returning.

The site is very pretty, on a slope but pitches have been terraced and are nice and level. Visited pub (dog friendly) about 15 minute walk to the left of entrance and had a good meal. Small town, other direction again about 15 mins. The site is dog friendly.
Owner is friendly and helpful. Loos and showers are in a portable cabin, rather dated but clean. Each pitch has water tap/electric. Thought £21 a night was on the expensive side though!
The only thing people will find awkward is that there is a rule of no washing to be hung out. There is a launderette in the town but with damp towels after showers I really would have liked to have been able to put up a line.

Good all round site. Toilet and shower facilities a little basic, but perfectly adequate and work is almost underway on new facilities for next year. New pitches are reasonably level, with some with water as well as electric (an unexpected bonus!). The views are beautiful, the site has a few others on but is peaceful. The sheep are quiet neighbours too. Laundrette in the village is very reasonable, and farm shop up the road (past the pub) is well worth a visit for the butchers (Far Barsley farm shop). Basic shops available in West Vale, as well as fish and chips and other takeaways (fish and chips good, not tried anything else).
Site owner is approachable, helpful and assures us he likes it nice and peaceful- its certainly has been so while we were there.

We've just returned from a weekend stay, our first ever time camping, and we found the site to be more than adequate. On arrival the owner greeted us and showed us the various pitches we could choose from, and where the electric hooks ups were sited.
The site is very basic but very clean, there were 2 shower cubicles, sink and mirror, and ladies and gents toilets - with a pot wash area round the back of the shower portacabin, there was also an area for emptying chemical toilets and a fresh water supply. The toilets had ample toilet rolls and were stocked daily - the pot wash area only had cold water, but this wasn't a problem for us.
There's a pub about 15 minutes walk away (turn left out of the field gates) which has SKY sports and does food - although we didn't eat there so couldn't comment on that?
There is currently some work in progress behind the main barn, which the owner says is going to be shower blocks/laundry etc. Will be a great improvement on the facilities as there's only 2 showers at present and are used for both sexes - we never found this a problem though, and there was never any need to queue.
It cost us £32 for 2 nights, and the owner specifically asked us how many people there were in our group - which gave us the impression that it was a 'per person' price - we since got talking to other campers there and they all said it was one of the more expensive sites they'd been to, given the basic facilities on offer. But we certainly enjoyed our stay nevertheless, it was a very pleasant experience.

Wow! What a lovely site! The owner came out to meet us, really friendly and helpful, he gave us free reign to pitch wherever we wanted and we chose to go down Into the far field next to a little trickling stream in and among trees that were perfect for our 3 kids to climb and play in. The views are awesome and the sheep in the next field are adorable! Loved waking up to their baa-ing!
The facilities are fine, the toilets are clean and well stocked with quilted loo-roll and plenty of hand soap.
We think for £15 a night this is a perfect haven! Will definitely be going back.

Lovely quiet site, amazing surroundings, being so close to a town. The owner was very up front with any information needed.
Only downside was the services, I feel that mixed sex toilets and showers are not the way to go. I understand that new toilets and showers are being built at this moment so will be much better then, and for that downfall I feel the charge of £15 per night 2 people in a caravan is a tad steep.
The area around greetland is very good for walkers, would I return yes if the price was lower.

Very friendly campsite owner. Nothing was too much trouble. He gave a full explanation of the surrounding area and what it had to offer.
The town is a short walk away where The Queens pub can be located. Great pint of beer and very friendly people. (We only went in for one and came out a bit wobbly 3 hours later!)
The campsite is not sign posted very well so look carefully for a Caravan Club sign stuck to the side of the gate post. The site is opposite No 306 Saddleworth Rd so you may be better off looking for that.
The facilities on the site are very minimal. The pot wash sink is outside and not covered and situated around the back of the portable cabin ablutions.
Electric hook up is provided, free if required via trailing lead from the barn.
The portable cabin contains two (free) electric shower cubicles and 2 toilets so it a shared facility. Unfortunately the sink in the portable cabin does not have hot running water only cold.
There is hard standing provided for caravans and a grassed area for tents. It's not huge, about the size of the average village football pitch. Once you face away from the steel barn on site and towards the greenery it's easy to imagine that you could be in the middle of nowhere. The trees along the valley are well established and provide a relaxing view.
All in all a good stay over. The £15 fee per night is a little steep, but you do get free showers and electric. It is not somewhere to remain all day unless you want to just chill but it is a good location to use as a base to visit the locality.

Nice little site! We're new to motorhoming and the friendly owner was really helpful and patient with us.
Lovely, quiet setting with attractive flock of sheep. Hardstanding pitch was pretty level.
Facilities were basic (portable cabin) and unheated, but clean and the showers were nice and hot. The owner is awaiting planning permission for new, better facilities.
We discovered an amazing architectural antiques, furnishings and 'curiosities' warehouse in Greetland village called Andy Thorntons - well worth a visit!
