Just returned from 3 night break at this site.
Site is very well looked after, the campsite is very clean and tidy.
The area for tents sits at the far end of site right next to the large play area which was great for the kids while I erected the tent in peace for a change !
Toilet and wash area were more than adequate and pitch sizes were very large ( our tent is 7m x7m and still plenty of room )
Plenty to do on site and if needed Hull is only a short drive away.
It's hard to think of any negatives on this site in fact if any they are so minor they are not worth mentioning.
Lovely view of the hall on a night and great walk round and about the lakes

First visit to this site and certainly won't be our last. Beautiful location, very well maintained site, great size pitches. All staff were very friendly. Good little shop, toilets and showers kept clean & tidy with a radio station playing over the speakers all the time. Fantastic lake great for fishing and a gentle stroll around. One of the best playareas we have seen so far.
Asda superstore a couple of miles up the road if needed. Great views of Burton Constable Hall especially when lit up at night.
The only downside was the weather on our visit, very very windy had to take the gazebo down and many caravan awnings were torn & collapsing.
Would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning.

This was our first visit to Burton Constable despite it only being only 15 mins from home. We were really impressed, the site is just lovely. An absolutely fantastic setting beside a beautiful lake, made for a lovely relaxing week. The pitches were a very good size and we were pitched right in the far corner next to the field with the cows, who came to say hello every day.
The toilets and showers were kept lovely and clean and I often bumped into the cleaners in there who, like all the park staff, were very pleasant. The only thing I would suggest is that more than one key is given to families, there were times when one of us had gone for a shower and another needed the toilet, so an extra key would be good.
Overall this is a lovely welcoming site that we will definitely return to, being just down the road is an added bonus!

One of the great things about this site is that you feel that you are right in the middle of nature; there are cows in the next field (restrained by wire fencing) and the site is the daily home to geese and ducks which wander round between the units. The huge lake is split into a boating lake and fishing lake by a very pretty, stone bridge.
We (the wife, my daughter and myself) were guided by a man in a golfcart to the tent field where he advised where best to put the tent and showed us where the EHU points were.
The men's toilets were immaculate twenty-four hours a day and the showers were excellent, each in it's own cubicle with a drop down seat and a dividing shower curtain preventing your stuff from getting wet. There was also Radio5 piped through speakers which made for very relaxing showering! We were given a key which opened the main doors to both the men's and women's showers / toilets, I think this is to stop kids from messing about in there?
There is also a dishwashing point and drinking water points and refuse skips dotted about. We didn't have cause to use the laundry as my wife and daughter brought enough clothing for a three week trip to Vegas!
The on-site bar was a welcome stop after a day of driving around Yorkshire and had a family room. There was an age restriction on the main bar so we didn't get to go in there because of having our 13 year old daughter with us but we could drink in the family room and the beer was fine. There were also free issue games and playing cards in the kids room to keep them occupied.
We were surprised at the size of the kid's playground which was enormous and had all of the things you would expect to find in a playground. This kept the kids on site occupied and less likely to throw footballs, frisbees and boomerangs into your tent or caravan!
The shop was small but well stocked and we were buying the main ingredients for camping breakfasts for a few pounds. It also had a good selection of sweets for the kids.
The site is part of what used to be a huge estate and the entrance to the site is through one of the old buildings which feels a bit like a border crossing with it's office and barriers but is a smart building and re-assuring that only people staying on the site or visiting friends etc can get access. The barriers are controlled by a swipe-card given to you when you arrive.
The mansion house is a fifteen minute walk across the fields on the opposite side of the lake but a word of warning: when we were there the field had bullocks in it which was fine on the walk to the house because they were in a far corner of the field but on the return journey they had migrated and gathered around the gate that we needed to get through to get back onto site. We thought better of taking on twenty bulls so we walked back to the mansion where we were shown another, safer route back to the site. My advice is drive round to the house and avoid the livestock! We were given a discount ticket for site occupants for entry into the mansion and it is well worth a look if you are into that sort of thing, admission was £9 for the three of us with the discount ticket. Not far from the tea room in the old stable block there is a field of alpacas which brought instants gasps of 'Awww they're so cute!' from our teenager!
There is a pub (The Bluebell) a few minutes down the road (by car) in Sproatley which does a decent pint of Stella amongst other brews. There is an Asda a bit further on and was very handy for the usual 'we forgot to bring' moments!
The staff on site are fantastic. Everyone we met greeted us with a smile and a friendly 'Hello.' The service throughout was impeccable.
The negative bits (and I really had to think hard for these): It would have been good if the site bar had been open at lunchtime, even if just for a couple of hours, especially while it was so hot and sunny, it wasn't opening until 8pm when we were staying. My wife reported that the women's toilets/showers could have done with an extra cleaning on Friday / Saturday but in saying that, we did see the cleaners going in as we left on the Saturday and there had just been a rapid influx of new campers so perhaps that's being a bit picky.
All in all it's an excellent place and I would have no reservations in returning for a future stay. Two very big thumbs up!

Been a few times in a tent but this was my first time with the caravan. As always the kids loved the playground (it is huge). Burton Constable is a lovely site, we weren't told where to pitch so could go where we liked. Toilets and showers all nice and clean. Nice shop. Site very secure as you need a pass to get in and out and a key to use the toilets. Very scenic and they also give you a voucher to visit Burton Constable Hall for a discounted rate (well worth it). The only downside is that it is the most expensive site we have been to though strangely enough it cost more when we went in our tent???

What can I say about this site, it is beautiful, we love the location, the safe feel and the kind of quality you would expect at a caravan club site.
As we have a motorhome we were placed in the 'motorhome section' adjacent to the bar and lake. We felt a little out of the crowd with our 23 year old dented and slightly well used camper at the side of the £50000 newbies but another 23 year old motorhome just like ours turned up and we felt a little better.
The on site shop and bar were excellent and offered what we and the kids wanted, the toilet facilities were also excellent and very clean but unsure of the key system for the door, as you only have one between male and females in the party one had to wait before the other. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and are returning this weekend for a week.

Nice clean park, clean tidy toilet blocks, on site shop is a bit small and understocked for the large size of the site. Clubhouse is very reasonably priced for a drink.
One concern is when you build and design a campsite of this size why would you build the children's play area directly next to an unfenced lake? and to the reviewer 2 down from this one we were not spoken to by security, but apologies for the rather loud arguments our party had that evening

We booked onto this site last minute for the Easter Break, usually we prefer smaller sites of say 50 to 100 units, the price per unit was £27 a night, which we considered to be expensive but because of the place had high expectations.
First the good points, we could arrive anytime after 9am on Good Friday and didn't have to leave until 2pm on Easter Monday, the staff were very friendly. The facilities were kept clean but there wasn't really enough for the size of the site.
Now the bad the electricity is only 10amp supply and because there was so many units packed onto the site it kept tripping, the wardens came very quickly and kept moving leads about so eventually ours was ok, we used the kettle on the gas hob so this may have helped us because it still kept happening elsewhere on site, even though there was a rather noisy generator near by.
The place is beautiful its just a shame that so many units had been packed on, they were all in a straight lines so you felt hemmed in and any views you might have had were blocked by the rows of caravans, we also had noisy neighbours, you could hear most of their conversation even when we were in the caravan.
The place is ideal for visits to the coast and Hull, we found several child friendly museums in Hull which are all free. The Blue Bell Inn in Sproatly serves home cooked food at reasonable priced and the service is excellent they are very child friendly. I wouldn't visit this site again because of its size and facilities, but really liked the area, so will look out for another smaller site.

Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Difficult to get on and off some tent pitches, especially when wet. Had noisy neighbours, were spoken to by security, I think, as the next night they seemed a lot more subdued or they were hungover!
Tent area at the far end of the camp could do with an extra toilet block as it's a bit of a walk to the toilet block, especially when you need to go desperately. However, would use the site again as I've stayed at much worst sites.

We have been to this site several times over the past 5 or 6 years and have always found it really enjoyable.
Staff are friendly and hospitable and do periodic checks to see if everything is OK
Toilets and showers are good and clean, with potwashing sinks - never seem to have to queue for anything.
There are two lakes - one for fishing and the other for boating and fishing. We haven't ever caught very much, but I think that says more about my angling skills, rather than the facilities !
There is a shop on site with a reasonable range and a supermarket a short drive away.
Will probably visit again this summer to see if we can catch a bit more - my son did hook (then lose) a large carp last time.
