This was our first camping trip, and we were unsure what to expect of a large family-oriented campsite such as this, but we had a lovely time and were very impressed with the facilities and staff.
The impressive gateway on arrival was a hint of the overall quality of the site. We were greeted warmly and taken directly to our plot by a helpful man in a golf buggy.
As we drove through the site, we were struck by how lovely the park was - very well kept, noticeably clean, with well tended grass, flowers and hedges.
When we arrived at our plot, the man checked we knew where all the facilities were, and gave us a card with site security's number on it, and said to call if we had any issues at all with other guests, such us noise at night. He assured us we didn't have to put up with any bad behaviour.
However, we didn't need to use the number at all, as throughout our stay there was no bad behaviour and we had no cause to complain about anything. The toilets and showers were very clean, and we never had to queue. Even at the furthest point of the site, it was only a very short walk to the facilities, and the showers were free. Fresh drinking water was available every 50m or so, and there was a large playground for kids that was obviously well kept.
The fishing lake was around 50m from the main camping area, and the lake was well stocked and the fish were biting. Day passes are available.
On our arrival day, we didn't feel like cooking dinner, and we found a local pub with friendly staff that served good food. There's an Asda supermarket around 3 miles away, and a small shop on the site for the essentials.
We will certainly be going back again, and would recommend this site to anyone.

We stayed for a couple of nights and was very satisfied with what we saw.
The site was kept immaculate and I was impressed with the routine drive rounds by the staff to check everything was OK.
The amenities were of high standard and kept extremely clean.
The location was a big draw as it is set in the grounds of Burton Constable House with a beautiful lake and surrounding fields.
If you like a spot of fishing then this place is for you, it was great to see all ages tabling in a bit of angling.
There was a bar on site although we never used it, they also had a shop which was good enough for the kids sweets! the staff were extremely friendly.
The park area more than entertained the kids for hours with swings and sand pits etc.

We used a visit to Burton Constable Holiday Park as a little practice run for our first proper camping holiday to Cornwall later this year. All I can say is very impressed. I live in Hull and never imagined such a place could exist just half an hour north/east! Security is good, with electronic passes to operate the barrier. The staff were very helpful showing us our pitch. The site was very tidy, immaculately kept as was the shower / toilet block. The club was reasonable although it did not serve food, but with 2 pubs in the village which did meals this was no problem. I recommend the Blue Bell though for the food. Kids were kept busy in the park. The shop is well stocked and all the static and lodge owners kept they plots very well managed. For a first visit anywhere we were over the moon. Only problem was you can't choose your neighbours can you! Going back in a fortnight.

A lovely little site. Offers large pitches and the toilet/shower block is kept very clean at all times.Beautiful lake to walk around and has a very good play area for children.
I read another review saying the site was very noisy at night, I found this not to be true - people were obviously enjoying the fresh air with bbqs and sitting out but the noise wasn't over the top. The site is patrolled regularly.
A fish and chip van arrives on the site on certain evenings and provides very good food, however the queue gets very long and food get sold out quickly.
Overall a very well kept site, we have now visited twice and will definitely return.

I have visited this site for approximately 20 years and was totally disappointed in what it has turned into! I used to escape to lush green surroundings in peace and quiet and to enjoy the natural habitat. Concrete roads, hardstandings, static caravans everywhere and noise of late night drunken yobs and music blaring out from other campers. It is sad but because the pitches are so far from the main offices etc many people just go to get drunk and let their kids also in a drunken state chase geese etc and cause riot for the rest of us. The wardens do try and patrol but to say it is noisy would be an understatement! Toilets etc remain clean, shop is good. Didn't venture into the club but apparently it was very reasonable (maybe half the problem?)

WOW! Yet again a fantastic long weekend we had. The weather was great for a change. We have stayed here a few times now and will definitely keep coming back. The staff are fantastic. If you have any problems they sort it out for you straight away. They are also very friendly and chatty. The toilet blocks and showers are immaculate. They get cleaned at least twice a day. You need a key to be able to enter the blocks which I think is a good idea so it can deter kids from messing about. The shop is small but well stocked. My kids love to walk there to spend there pocket money. The small club house is good too. One side is for adults only and you have the other side for familys also there is seating outside. On a friday and wednesday the chipshop van arrives at the main gates, and we have had some from them and they are really good. The playground is very big and great fun. My kids love it. Also the fishing is good there too. Both my husband and son go fishing every time we come and always catch the fish.If you want to visit the old hall it is just a short walk through the fields and you get in with a discount voucher which you can get from the campsite reception.
Really all in all this is one of the best and cleanest and most friendly sites we have visited. We are now thinking of a seasonal pitch there.

We have just stayed here for 3 nights and I cannot fault it. Granted we had glorious sunshine which always adds to good times and we ended up staying an extra night as the weather was so good.
The site is spotlessly clean and the grass was lovely and lush. It was not very busy when we were there as the school holidays had finished so not many people about. This may have been why the site stayed so clean as it was not busy.
The toilet block was nice, it had about 10 toilets and 6 showers it is a big site so I am not sure if this is enough in peak season.
There was a nice playground for children but we did not have any with us so don't know if it was good or not! we never tried the bar out either.
There is a short walk to burton constable hall through a field so I would advice good walking shoes and I wouldn't fancy taking a pushchair across, you can of course drive round. It is £6-00 per adult to do the hall and stables.
Hornsea freeport is about 10 miles away and it has all sorts of retail shops if you fancy a bit of shopping, we got some waterproofs from the regatta outlet at a good price.
We paid £17-50 per night which I thought was ok as the site really was nice. We will definitely go back and it will be sooner rather than later.

Stayed here over the Easter weekend 2009.
Weather was dull, damp, drizzle most of the weekend but the campsite held up very well. We had lovely grass on the pitch and not a sign of mud.
The toilets were cleaned pretty much constantly it seemed and were good showers with music piped in as well.
You do have to give £10 deposit on the toilet room key and electronic gate pass.
There are a couple of shops and a bar onsite, we didn't use either though so can't comment.
Kids play area was nice and we had a walk around the lake and through the woods.
I walked around the outside of the house one afternoon whilst the girls had a nap. This was free for me, not sure if I should have paid but didn't go near the car park and shop.
We had a meal in the pub in the village, not the 1st one which wasn't serving food when we were there but a few mins walk further up the road. This was lovely, booking is recommended.
The site is easy to find and well sign posted.
Due to the weather a lot of caravanner's were using EHU for heating etc and staying indoors so this was tripped out a few times over the weekend but was also fixed quite quickly.
There is fishing available if that's your thing, we stayed and watched a few people pull out some fish and someone launched their own kayak into the bottom lake as well.
All in all a good stay, it was quite expensive and a 3 night min stay over bank holiday.

We made last minute reservations for here at Easter 2008 and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the site as normally the good ones are booked up. We were impressed by the drive up to the site itself, it looks lovely and really inviting. We were given a pitch on the back row behind the loo block. The toilet block was kept clean even though it was very muddy after the snow! The snow was a nice surprise and made the views across to the house even better. The kids thought it was great. We visited Hornsea and the Freeport, The Deep in Hull and out to the coast to the Nuclear Bunker Museum, still loads to do in the area and we are planning a return visit this summer (2009) to visit Fort Paul. Shop was ok and a chip shop van visits and they were not too bad. Had a drink in the pub in the village and was nice and inviting, highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night. Site very posh looking, grounds immaculate, lakes, noisy geese etc. Then we were shown to a 'motorhome' area which was basically a square car park with electric hook up points. Luckily we were the first ones there so had the pick of positions. There were 5 of us parked on there for the night with no problems.
Unfortunately when the close of the bar (very nearby) happened later on that evening, we were awoken again and again by passing crowds.
I used the shop the next morning to buy my weekend paper, gave back my shower block key, which I did not use once plus the barrier thing and got my £10 deposit back. A nice site but I didn't really get a wow from anything and would not return.
