Welcoming, friendly, relaxed, scenic and immaculate. All the things we look for in a campsite. The owners cannot do enough for you and even set us a rounders pitch up as there was a big group of us. The dogs provide excellent entertainment for the children. Stunning surrounding area and combined with the charm of the campsite makes this a must to visit! The barn conversion is a real attraction and we quickly felt very welcome on the site. We will be returning this weekend for the 3rd time since our first stay in May.

We stayed here for 5 wonderful nights.
We initially chose this site because of its proximity to Alton Towers, an easy 3 or 4 miles away.
What can we say about the hospitality that hasn't been said. We have never met such friendly people on all of our travels. And like all previous the attention of Poppy and Dodge, my shoulder's still sore with throwing balls and sticks.
Cheadle about 4 miles away hosts a Morrisons, Asda's and Coop, or there's a small shop in the village of Alton however parking is very limited.
The walks around the site are breathtaking with continuous views of rolling hills and a short walk to Croxden Abbey.
If you have an interest in history Nick has a dearth of knowledge of his farms Stone-age history with some fascinating historical finds, we were fortunate enough to have a guided tour of some of Nicks finds and able to see where the history lies.
An absolutely fantastic week, already planning to visit again.
My only advice is follow Nicks directions and not your sat-nav, DO NOT take your touring caravan along the Croxden Abbey route (its tight)

Everything about this site is fantastic, great facilities, lovely location, friendly people and dogs. Lots to do in the area, especially convenient if your going to Alton Towers which is only a few miles away. Would definitely stop again, highly recommended ! There is lots of archaeology interest in the area, so if your interested in history lots to learn about. Also some fantastic vibes in the area if your interested in anything of a spiritual nature. Lots of nice and pleasant walks to do. All in all 10/10 at a very reasonable price. Hope to go back again one day.

We stayed here for two nights and really didn't want to leave. The owners as said on the previous reviews really are lovely, also the now famous Dodge and Poppy. We can't wait to go back to see the fantastic views that surround the site. We didn't fish on the site but went to a fishing place called 'Blackhall' and what a day we had, brilliant. There are no strict rules, even where dogs are concerned and our dog loved the site as well being able to be let off his lead in one of the fields.

Love this place!
Stunning views with fantastic hosts Nick and Sue who can't do enough for you.
Toilets and newly installed shower are always very clean.
Lovely woodland walks and kids get to visit the goats and see chickens, ducks, and the ever present and friendly Dodge and Poppy (the farm collies).
Decent pubs nearby if you want to venture offsite.
We regularly visit and never want to leave.

Only stayed for a couple of nights with friends as we were going to Alton Towers which is less than 4 miles away, thankfully the weather was bright throughout our stay and all had a wonderful time.
The site is in a very quiet location with picturesque views in every direction and is ideal for the no thrills camper.
The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
All enjoyed playing with the poppy & dodge (the collies) who hardly left us alone as we were virtually the only ones there.
Would recommended this site to anyone and look forward to going back in the future.

Great location and fantastic views. Owners Nick & Sue are so helpful and absolutely lovely. The farm dogs Dodge and Poppy are very friendly and love to have a little play, but are very obedient.
Toilet & wash up area is very clean. The shower room and other toilet was closed off due to renovating work that was being carried out the following week we stayed there, but that wasn't an issue for us experienced campers.
Nick and Sue were always on hand if we needed something and they were very willing to accommodate us with activities in the converted barn if the rain got too much for us. Will definitely be going there again.

Torn between leaving a review about this site and keeping it a secret so we can always get in! We stayed for the weekend with the other reviewers (Wardles) and had a great weekend - company excepted obviously ;)
The site is lovely - grassy flat pitches with plenty of space and well sheltered by trees so even though we were on top of a hill the wind didn't cause us any trouble at all. The drainage seemed good too - we had quite a lot of rain on the last night we stayed but the ground didn't become boggy at all. The pitches themselves are mowed short but the grass in the rest of the field left longer so the kids had hours of fun playing in the meadow and making dens.
The site has an events barn that can host parties and rallies and it was used one night we were there. While we could hear the music from the pitch it wasn't too loud and didn't affect us at all - the only drawback was the extra people using the loo but as the site owners are putting more in (and showers too) that shouldn't be too much of an issue. The site owners are really friendly and on hand to check everything is ok - they recommended a local carvery (Peakstones Inn) that was lovely and told us where the nearest shops were. They also helped us out with a battery charging pack when I killed the car battery!
There's no play area for kids but with the woodland walks and long grass ours really didn't need one - there was plenty of room to play football and cricket too! There is a lovely walk to see the goats on site (in an enclosure!) as well as chickens and a couple of dogs that are really friendly. We also visited the nearby Croxden Abbey which we drove through on the way to the site and is steeped in history. It's also near enough to Alton Towers to make it a useful stopover - and is really good value for money too.
We've already booked again to go back!

We stayed at wood farm for three nights and found it really nice with wonderful views of the rolling countryside.
The owners were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you nothing was to much trouble.
The village of alton is right next door with its quaint shops and pubs and Cheadle is very nice with plenty of character and it as three supermarkets.
On the farm there is only one toilet and a sink for washing up but no shower but the owner says they will be putting in a shower block next year.
There are two lovely collie dogs called poppy and dodge who love to play and escort you to the toilet and back and go for country walks with you.
On the whole it was a lovely weekend.
