Location! Location! Location! A Greek holiday in Wales! We loved this site because it is simple and basic with no frills or unnecessary extras. The position of this site is stunning. It was moderately quite when we pitched up on the furthest field from the site office. We overlooked the sea and saw dolphins pass by every day of our 12 day holiday. The weather was exceptionally hot. The new toilet block was brilliant for us. The showers were hot and the toilets and shower were spotlessly clean. Toilet paper ran out half way through the day which is standard for most campsites but you soon get into the mode of taking your own toilet roll with you.

My husband preferred the solitude of the old toilet block. He liked sharing it with the swallows!

The rubbish shed is a well kept secret for some reason. It is in the farm buildings near the enquiries office. It has a louvred door and is opposite the holiday cottages.

Some people were upset by the teething problems with the drainage of the new shower/toilet block. Having had experienced many Greek island holidays, this problem was unimportant to us. The owners are lovely and we enjoyed meeting Meg and Mo, the chocolate labradors, who do require much fussing and cuddles. All in all, this was with out doubt, the best camping holiday we have experienced in the UK.

Visited this fantastic site during one of the best weeks of weather I can remember !

Site owner was very pleasant checking in and we were told to pitch anywhere along the hedge in second field (EHU required).

As another reviewer has mentioned the new toilet block is as they described, water pressure too much at the taps, nowhere to put toiletries during a wash and the disabled facility doubles as a baby changing unit, the disabled shower/Loo didn't drain showering water away at all and led to flooding of the room from even the briefest of showers, the facilities are however extremely clean and brand new, the potwash area outside is one large ceramic sink and there was queueing at peak times but never for very long.

Couldn't find anywhere to deposit rubbish and we looked long and hard, some campers simply left it by the new Loo block which caused some mess as the seagulls helped themselves. Having said that the bags were gone each morning so someone cares.

Ok, that's the negative out of the way ! Now for the good bits !

Location, Location, Location !

This is quite possibly the most attractive campsite I've ever had the pleasure of. Located three miles or so from the A487 Aberystwyth to Cardigan coast road and close enough to Cardigan for quick trips to re-stock the larder, there is a Tesco and a Aldi on the road into Cardigan.

The site itself is adjacent to Mwnt beach which is the most beautiful little sandy cove you could imagine, steepish descent to the beach itself past a small kiosk selling ice creams, cold drinks and beach toys, there are also toilets. The water is freezing as you might imagine and I would recommend a wetsuit for bathing/snorkelling. There were the odd jellyfish, spider crab and last but not least the Dolphin's playing at the mouth of the cove daily !

A stiff walk to the top of the hill adjacent to the cove will give one of the finest views in Cardigan Bay, it also affords a fantastic view of the campsite and a beautiful 13th Century Church at the bottom, the Ceredigion Coastal Path runs alongside the cove and across the back of the campsite.

No pubs within walking distance but a short drive away are several small villages offering food and drink, good alternative beaches nearby are Poppits beach, Penbryn and Llanrannog cove has a super beach-hut cafe that I can recommend.

Cost for large family tent, two adults and teenager with EHU was a very reasonable £16/night, no playground on-site but plenty of open space for good old fashioned fun, besides, with the beach so close, who needs a swing !

Peaceful, quiet, beautiful, simple camping at it's best, what more could a happy camper want.

Nice site. Follow the roadsigns to 'Mwnnt' and the site is on a dead end past the pay and display car park and through a gate.

The owner was agreeable and gave good advice.

There is a field of static caravans above the camping field which is on a slope facing north to the sea, with a lovely view of the little hill and church near to the path down to the sheltered sandy beach. The site is very exposed to north and west winds though.

There are brand sparkling new toilets/showers, sponsored by the E. U. , and it looks like the E. U. Designed them- amusing. In the gents there is one stall, which is fine. The plumbing needs some sorting though. There are push taps on the sinks which give a torrent of water. It's ok if you stand back and fill the sink, but if you want to wash your hands or do your teeth water sprays all around the room. The shower head is fixed into the wall with no adjustment for direction or temperature. It too is powerful and if you hang anything on the hooks inside the door it gets wet from the rebounded water from your body. The whole floor becomes awash and it leaks out into the main room too. The only solution was to leave clothes, towel and shoes outside near the sinks and urinal and leave the shower naked. No problem for me because I was the only camper on the site at the time and the floors were clean, but not ideal when things get busier.

Anyway. There are no other facilities (I couldn't find a bin) but the site is in a good place by the sea and beach, which is all the entertainment most of us need.

It's a 4 mile drive into Cardigan with its shops and supermarkets, all down little roads, so some planning is needed for supplies.

If you love peace, quiet, beautiful walks, and stunning scenery, and no phone signal you will absolutely adore this place. We do

Very basic, nothing but empty fields and an amazing beach to keep kids entertained but what more do they need!

I have been bringing my daughter here for 10 years and she cant wait til the next visit.

Very friendly site owners and excellent site fees.

To enjoy this little bit of paradise you need to be strong enough to cope with the most basic showers and toilets, often inhabited with spiders and nesting birds but it is totally worth every bit of it.
