Wonderful place to stay, where we had a wonderful time this Easter. Large spacious site, with lots of space, and no problems with our huge tent! Very friendly owners and Charles was very happy to give us a hand putting up our tent when the wind picked up.
Drainage is excellent, with the very heavy rain of the first night not affecting the ground at all. While we took our wellies we had no need of them. Lovely springy grass. Whole field was well cut, and our pitching area was cut even shorter for our arrival. Wonderful views, and while a little exposed, not badly so. Very well placed for Braunton, Westward Ho!, Saunton, Woolacombe, Coombe Martin etc, and plenty of amenities in Barnstaple, including nearby bowling, Cinema etc if whether gets bad.
Facilities are new and in great condition, heated and solar powered (with gas backup). Swings and rings for the children, and a field we were very happy to let them run around on, and pop down to the bathrooms themselves. We highly recommend.

Just returned from Brightlycott, and the site now has a nice new toilet block, with showers and washing facilities. The only problem we had was with it being a working farm and the weather not brilliant a pair of wellingtons would have been handy. Access to our plot, at the top of the field, was very muddy and got worse over the weekend.

After an incredibly wet week in Cornwall in July 2007, we decided to chance our luck with another week under canvas in Devon instead. We chose this site because they would take bookings unlike a lot of the other sites in the area, and the owners were so friendly and helpful when we called that we knew we'd chosen the right site!
Unfortunately, we arrived fairly late and just as it started raining, so putting the tent up wasn't much fun, but it was easy to chose a pitch because the field is large, even and only very gently sloping. The facilities were fantastic and quite newly built so the showers and loos were clean and there were plenty of them, plus they were really easy to get to from the field. We don't have kids so the children's facilities were not something important to us, but there was a small play area on the field and an indoor play area too.
The site is nice and close to Barnstaple so it's easy to get food etc, and it was really easy to find the site. The only downside for us was that there was no pub near by. We had a really lovely time in North Devon and would definitely recommend this site - we had a pretty damp week but we still really enjoyed our stay.

We discovered this site by accident in 2005 and found the site very peaceful and friendly and have been back a couple of times since and each time have been welcomed by the owner and his very friendly dog. He is very keen on recycling as he has a small area to segregate old tins and papers and alike.
The fees are very good although he has put up the price of the hook up a whole 50 pence a night this year 2006. My only criticism is the shower and toilet blocks are to few and the water is a long haul up hill back to the caravan (only one tap) . The site is ideally suited to small children as it is very secure and a beach not far away. We shall be visiting again this year for the second time in august it is so central to a lot of attractions and different beaches.

May 2005 Very quiet friendly site - a welcome for dogs but shame the owner does not provide a field for dog walking, this means you have to get the car out at least twice a day in our case just to take the pooch for a run. The nearest place we found to do this was Braunton Burrows @ a cost of £1-50 car park each visit!
There is only one shower cubicle and one toilet for each sex which could prove awkward if you do not have your own toilet and wash facilities.
