We spent 6 nights on this site and enjoyed our stay very much.  On arrival the staff were really friendly and helpful.  We found our pitch with ease and had the most stunning views.  The toilet / shower block was close by and were cleaned on a daily basis and at no time did we have to queue for a nice hot shower.
The club provided excellent entertainment for our 6 year old with different themes every night.  Although the prices in the club were expensive the food looked very nice with lots of people choosing to eat in.
There was a well stocked shop which had plenty of choice of products.
The outside swimming pool was very popular along with the indoor one, and always looked very clean.
The beach was quite a trek in the hot weather but plenty to look at along the way and quite safe for kids although I would not have liked to have taken a pushchair there.
We were able to book an extra night, again the staff were really helpful.
I would highly recommend it to others.

I was so impressed with this site. The staff were so friendly on arrival, we were given a wonderful pitch overlooking the sea. Toilets and showers were immaculate as was the whole site. Lots for the children including, play area, indoor and outdoor pool, indoor soft area, arcade, ten pin bowling and evening entertainment whilst you have a drink in the lovely bar which serves good food. I have no hesitation that I will re-visit this site. The beach and town is walkable over a few fields and it would appear that everything has been thought out and catered for. The well equipped shop even serves bacon butties incase you are too tired to fire up the cooker. My only criticism was that there was a lot of surfers on camp who wanted to party late into the night.

I stayed here with the children on my own as hubby had to work, and found being able to walk to the beach etc a big plus. The pitches vary in size, and our twin axle just fitted onto ours, just as well we didn't have car there all week! The views are wonderful. Although the sheep in the field opposite are very verbal!

The main toilet/shower block I found to be reasonable and clean, but, the other facilitiy is more like a portacabin and although clean was very dated and tatty. Beware walking down the slopes in the dark, the roads are gravel, and full of holes, twisted my ankle. Talking of gravel, prepare for a dust cloud when cars pass your unit!
we used both the swimming pools, and found the water temp just right, clean and very welcome since we had a heatwave!

The walk across fields to Woolacombe is pleasant, although it was filled with horses on our return from Woolacombe, and I am not happy around loose animals.

The clubhouse wasn't too bad, but the food not brilliant, and expensive. We tended to either eat in Woolacombe or bring back fish and chips. The shop was well stocked, bit pricey. The site is the nearest to the beach, which you cannot fault, dont forget your surfboard!

I would return again, if only for the fantastic views over Woolacombe Bay, beautiful sunsets.

I will write a report now I have remembered. We went in August 2005 and stayed at Woolacombe. The surrounding area is really beautiful and the beach is hard to beat for cleanliness etc (no fag ends!) It is privately owned by the Parkin estate group and is cleaned every evening. On the beach you will also find food and ice cream stalls, again owned by Parkin but surprisingly reasonably priced. However we were very disappointed with Woolacombe on site facilities, the toilet block's were really filthy and in poor repair, showers were temperamental and had holes in the cubicles, the indoor pool was very dirty and had thick scum all around the edges. The kids loved the facilities (kids don't notice things we do!) On the actual pitch it was covered in old cigarette butt's and I vowed never to go back to a non cc site, when we told reception they were not bothered in the slightest and just pointed out it was peak season.

This was a well located campsite, probably the closest to Woolacombe with a nice footpath through the fields to the village (don't forget to take a torch!) The facilities were average, sometimes a little dirty (a huge dead spider was resident on the toilet floor.) Compared to other sites in the area it was a little expensive, this was probably to cover the pool and clubhouse (which we did not use). However, the largest problem we had was that the site refused to allow our friends onsite because they were four males and arrived the day after we did. While we acknowledge the site's policy of 'no single sex groups', they were joining other men and women. However, the unhelpful desk clerk refused to budge. Good for families, not for groups - of any description it would seem!

Pros: Close to the beach and town. The pitches for camping in the bottom of the valley were spacious and in pretty surroundings although we were there in low season so couldn't say what it would be like when busy.

Cons: Tacky clubhouse, terrible entertainment and food, very average showers and toilets were often dirty. We were going to go back this summer (purely because it was handy for the beach - we surf), but when they quoted £16 per person, per night for camping we declined. Even though we tried to cut a deal as our party was 14 (all couples), they didn't want to offer any discount!

Although this is a reasonable campsite it is no better than average. It is a fair walk from the town and beach and the tariff of £27.50 when the showers aren't even warm is quite frankly theft!

This place is heaven, fantastic views of the sea, short walk through the field to the village and beach, very safe
site has everything for all ages.
i have been going for years, over those years my family has grown, married and had children of their own, and still come with us, we have also been joined by extending family and friends over the years, they also have gone year after year.
we have all tried other sites and also gone abroad, but nothing lives up to the time we have at Woolacombe Sands.
Very highly recomended.
