Situated in Valley the two field site was calm and free from gusts like other sites in the area which we liked.
Very warm friendly welcome from James and Sarah. The reception is attached to their house with a small shop that stocks the bear essentials only. Could do with maybe stocking a few more things but there is a local shop down the road and with Truro few miles away its easy to get what you need.
The facilities we found excellent, always clean. Adequate washing up facilities, washer, dryer and even an iron and ironing board. Male and female toilets separated by showers which again were always spotlessly clean.
A nice information room filled with books and local information was nice too that has a local area map so you can plan your day.
The site itself was peaceful, well laid out. Two fields devided by a row of trees and bushes. A slight slope from top to bottom but nothing that a few blocks for caravans couldn't sort out and careful placing of a tent.
We had a large tent with electric hook up which was accomodated very well with plenty of private space around us.
Some more private smaller pitches are provided around the edge divided by hedges.
All very peaceful with the sound of local birds of prey and owls in the evening.
Owners didn't allow fires which we like to have at night. Even though we only ever use self light logs in packets placed in an off the floor BBQ.
It wasn't a problem but its nice to sit out at night and the tendancy then was to shut up early and go to bed.
All together one of the best, most relaxed holiday we have had. Wonderful friendly warm atmosphere, no noisy groups.
Thanks to James and Sarah for being so friendly and making our holiday.
We will be back !

Good layout and friendly to people with small tents who want privacy. Very helpful and welcoming hosts.
It was good and I would recommend it. The grass was green and the bushes sheltered from the wind.
The atmosphere was relaxed and there were no intrusive signs forbidding you from this and that.

Wonderful site. The site owner was really helpful and was always around for a chat giving the place a really personal feel. We were a group of 4 couples with 3 children and stayed for 7 nights.
There is lots of space for tents and caravans, and even with a pretty full site we did not feel like we were on top of each other. There are loads of electric hook-ups and water points around the site and he ground is pretty much level. The very slight slop on the site means that even with all the rain that we had, the ground drained well.
Luckily for us, the site is lined by some very mature trees that served as very good protection from the very changeable Cornish weather.
The facilities on the site, although not the most modern I have come across, are beautifully kept. Showers were are hot, spacious and clean. There is a spacious indoor washing up area, with dedicated sinks for washing up, veg prep and clothes washing. The laundry facilities are fast and efficient which was a great help with the weather that we had!
Even with the very changeable weather we found plenty to do with loads of great National Trust sites near by as well as great towns such as Padstow and attractions like the Eden Project all in easy reach. We had a great week at this lovely site and we will definitely be returning soon.

Easy to find site just outside Truro. We met James the owner on arrival - he was very friendly & helpful.
We were able to chose where we parked & the utility area consisting of dish washing sinks, vegetable sinks, washing machines shower area & toilets - all very clean and tidy.
A lounge area with information leaflets & books as well as Wi-fi was good for those waiting for washing or to meet others.
The site was quiet with no traffic noise at night & pleasant country views. Handy for most attractions.

We warmly recommend this site.
The location is excellent, it is clearly signposted, and allows easy access to most parts of Cornwall - so it was ideal for our first visit to the county for many years.
The site is on a gentle slope, which means that it is very well drained (rain is not unknown in Cornwall!). The pitches are generous by UK standards - especially the clearly marked pitches on the sides (no electricity in these areas, although there seemed to be many electricity hook-up points in other parts of the site).
The shop is small and basic, but seems to offer the essentials. Truro, with a good range of shops and restaurants, is just a few minutes away by road - but the site is in the middle of the countryside.
The shower and toilet block is generally very good. There was rarely any need to queue for facilities. The showers are excellent, spacious and have very good supplies of hot water. The facilities are kept clean, although the older materials of which the block is constructed make this a harder job than in more modern facilities, where the washing and toilet cubicles are generally a little larger.

Lovely site, in an excellent, central location for exploring Cornwall, which tends to attract quiet campers rather than noisy groups.
The site is well sheltered by mature trees yet retains views of the surrounding countryside. Only a couple of miles from Truro in one direction and the A30 in the other, we found it to be an ideal location from which to explore yet secluded enough for traffic noise not to be an issue.
Toilet and shower facilities are ample and kept clean. Not once was it necessary to wait for either nor were the showers ever found to be cold. Showers are free of charge which means no fumbling for change. Plenty of sinks are provided for washing up, laundry and food preparation. A coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer are also available. There is a common room for reading and sheltering from the weather and it's well stocked with local tourist information.
There is a basic on-site shop, and also a Post Office and general store along with a pub serving a decent pint of real ale both a short walk away in Shortlanesend.
The site owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. What they couldn't answer immediately they were more than happy to find out.
Electrical hookups are available in most areas of the site and a free Wireless LAN internet connection is provided.
The site itself is partitioned into two fields with surrounding hedges allowing those who prefer a secluded location to pitch around the edges of the site whilst large tents and groups would be easily accommodated in the centre of the fields.
We very much enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to use this site again.

We have just stayed for a week whilst walking some more of the Coastal Path in Cornwall.
James and his wife have been at the site for the last 3 months and we found them most helpful and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and the site was very clean and the whole shower toilet washing block was wonderfully kept. The large dryers came in very useful on a couple of days for the wet gear !
Very peaceful but bus stop just up the road and a very good local Pub.
Would thoroughly recommend to one and all.

We were met by James who explained he had taken over the management of the site just six weeks before. We were offered a pitch anywhere of our choosing in either of the two fields, but those for tents were best around the perimeter where the ground is most level.
It is in a very peaceful and pleasant location, easily accessible from the A30 but just three miles from the centre of Truro. The toilet block is relatively modern and was kept spotlessly clean, as were the sinks for vegetable preparation and washing-up.
There is a hair dryer, washing machine and tumble drier which require 20p coins but the showers are free. There is also a day room with an extensive library of novels for the wet days.
We found this a very pleasant and well run site and would not hesitate to recommend it as an excellent centre for touring the area around Truro and the North coast beaches.

What a lucky find! A quiet peaceful site within easy reach of many beautiful coves and beaches and only about 3 miles from the lovely city of Truro. Plenty of variety of eating and shopping facilities. Well worth a visit.
Friendly young couple now running the site.
The site is well kept and the facilities are cleaned daily. Toilets and showers are exceptional.
A small on site shop providing minimal daily requirements.
A comfortable day room with helpful information and leaflets.
We had an enjoyable meal at the local put about 1 mile away.
Would we visit again - most certainly.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice friendly welcome from new owner. Peaceful rural site central for visiting all parts of Cornwall. Site was dog friendly ,well kept, and the facilities were clean and tidy.
There is a day room with helpful information and leaflets of attractions and places to visit.
The dog walking area is a bridleway next to the campsite.
There is a village pub one mile from the campsite with a good menu at reasonable prices.
The children's play area was nicely situated in a corner of the campsite.
We would not hesitate to stay there again.
