This was our second visit to 'the mile' after our first stay earlier in the year we just had to come back. It is only fair to be honest and accurate whilst leaving a review, I am not one bit surprised that so far everyone has given top marks and a great reviews this site really is a little gem.
The site it self is easy to find and easy to get in to (even with a 27ft caravan in tow). The site is an open field located towards the rear of the on site shop although the pitches are not marked out it is very simply set out, electric hook ups are located around the edge and they are well separated so pitch sizes vary but are very generous, wifi signal is good. There are two fresh water taps and a chemical disposal. This is a very relaxed site with plenty to do close to the site. We walked down to pocklington which only took 15 - 20 mins steady walking.
In summary a simple very reasonable site with all the facilities you need, toilets could do with a refurb but they are very clean and after speaking to the owner plans are well on the way for a new toilet/ shower block. If this goes ahead it will improve the site and I am sure will benefit from a lot more bookings. The site owners are how owners should be, very laid back very helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble.
Great site keep up the hard work it does show. See you again soon.

Just back from a 2 night stay in our Bell tent. Lovely flat grassy pitches, with LOADS of EHU points. Ample taps, and very accessible grey water & toilet emptying points. Toilets & shower were always clean, and plenty of hot water. 2 toilets & 1 shower was adequate for the size of the site. Lovely shop & cafe on site with soft play area for little ones, and a playground which was fenced, so really nice & safe. Our young boys (5&2) enjoyed looking at the horses, and seeing the tractor unload hay bales too! Walking distance into Pocklington makes it ideal for going for a meal out without needing to drive.
Be aware that the ground is VERY hard! Rock pegs and a decent mallet are really needed here.
The owner was very friendly & helpful. He told us about good places to eat, days out etc. And offered to help putting the tent / awning up.
Lovely little gem of a site. And we saved our C&CC membership fee by staying here compared to the price of bigger commercial sites.

Just had a wonderful 8 days at this site. Lovely owners can't do enough for you. Girls in cafe on site really helpful too. Food excellent and good price. £13 a night inc electric and wifi. Shower toilets in portocabin but owner Colin is going to put new ones in. Didn't really want to put a review in in case it gets to many going and no room for us. Oh and a 10 min walk into the village and food in the Feathers is superb.
We will definitely be returning.

Wonderful small spacious site, pitches are not marked out but there is plenty of room for everyone, if there isn't there is another field to which ' you can go where you feel most comfortable ' so we did and had one of the best most relaxing weekends. We paid £13 per night with electric and wifi, small shop with cafe on site kids play area in doors and one outside. 50 mins from scarborough.
Although we came from leeds? sat nav told us to go A64 (but as the yorkshire show was on) I went along the m62 to howden and found it a much better way in ( sat nav added 6 mins on), daughter came through on the sat, A64 way, and took her 1hr15 longer than us.
Great site well located good sizes plots great staff.

Came here for a quick weekend for the in laws to get used to their caravan. Chucked it down most of the weekend but the ground was solid even with our large motorhome.
As said, really helpful owner, free wifi, (good speed as well), and a nice level field.
Close to Pocklington to walk into with lots of shops and pubs. A good base if you are not in the area.
It has a portacabin with toilets and a shower but we use our own. Nice Café and a little shop which was always busy.

Mile Farm at Pocklington, very nice site,
• toilets and showers are basic, the owner is on with it though and says he is updating them soon.
* I've got to say The owner is a really helpful guy and couldn't do enough for everyone even went and got us an extention for our electric hook up.
•The camping area is very flat and well kept and looks to be great drainage.
•A good gateway and easy access to Pocklington - Malton & Thornton Dale etc
•Kids and dog friendly
•Nice little on site tea room and shop.
•Kids play area
For the money you cannot beat it.
Oh forgot to mention free wifi.

Not sure why there are no reviews for this site unless people want to keep it too themselves. It's behind the Smile Cafe and Farm Shop and it's very quiet so you will get a good nights sleep. There are two water taps and the Elson and grey water are under an open ended unit. Plenty of electric points. There are horses in an adjoining field. There is a small portacabin which contain two unisex toilets, one shower and two urinals. As a lady I had a shock entering the building as the urinals are not behind a wall but luckily the man using one had his back to me but didn't lock the main door. I only used this facility once as we have our own which are warmer. I was told by the young girl who booked us in that they are going to build new ones.
The man who owns the place, sorry forgotten his name, came over when we had settled and said the water was Yorkshire water and good to drink. I told him we didn't drink the water in the caravan but had bottles to put it in. He went off and came back with 8 bottles of water he had been given when they had the water off in the own. Really appreciated this.
Not too far into Pocklington where there are independent shops, Sainsburys and Aldi and a garage. We haven't eaten out in the town yet but have been recommended The Feathers which will try in a few days. The cafe in site do snacks, panni, breakfast which we had and include tea or coffee, and burgers. There is an inside play area in the cafe for little ones which I think cost £1 and a guieter area in the shop. Bread, milk, chops, bacon, veg and lots of other things are sold here too.
We went to Hornsea, Filey and Bridlington and tomorrow off to Whitby if the weather is kind. So far we have struck lucky with the weather as its been sunny with just a little shower today, very windy though. We have had little rain luckily and other sites we tried to book were closed due to boggy ground. This site however looks like it would drain very well as though it's grass, it's clean underfoot and the ground feels quite hard. We were told they do not take tents here.
A must place to visit is Yorkshire Lavender where the walk round the lavender fields is free and in the cafe they do delishous lavender scones with blueberry conserve and cream.
We were charged £13 a night plus £1 per day wifi which for us was excellent and no drop in connection. The wifi aerial is on the outside of the large farm shed.
Great little place to visit and would come back if in the area.
