Have had a wonderful visit at rickels. Arrived in wet weather but managed, myself and hubby to put up tent before thunderstorm! very well run clean campsite. Was immaculate, we stayed right in the corner near the rookery, which, I have to say, when they came in to roost was fantastic to watch (only woke me up once) in the 4 nights we slept there. As this was one of the complaints from previous review, you can always get ear plugs or catch up on your sleep by having a nap! owners were available if needed but left you well alone. My husband is 6ft 8inches tall and had plenty of standing room in the showers (not always the case).

Ideal location to visit all nearby attractions. This is a 'true' adult only site as even visitors were not allowed to bring children on site (which has happened at other sites). Have a very old dog and was really impressed with dog walk as you can let your dog off lead as completely enclosed. Will definitely be returning again.

Just returned from a very good weekend at The Rickels, the adults only policy certainly made the site very relaxing.

We had EHU and the pitch was roomy, the shower block was very clean, with plenty of hot water.

The enclosed dog field was a bonus. TV lounge for those who need a fix.

Visited Bircham Mill and purchased some freshly baked bread, cheese, cakes and tea also available. Sunday lunch was taken at Sculthorpe Mill which was very tasty.

The site is positioned nicely to explore all of the North Norfolk seaside resorts. We did a walk around the Burnham's.

Fantastic place. Owners couldn't do enough. The sanitation facilities were spotless and the washing up area had plenty of hot water.

There is also a washing machine, reasonably priced, and drier as well as a whirly gig. The site is quiet (apart from the nearby rookery which is entertaining!).

It's adult only as some parents couldn't be bothered to train their children properly so the owners decided to exclude them.

Lots to do in the area. Good local Spar in Docking, excellent bread from Bircham windmill and from Grooms in Burnham Market. First class fishmongers, Gurneys, in B.M. As well.

Only downside is that the site is rather exposed and Norfolk is a windy county so be prepared. Puts many more expensive sites to shame. Great value at £13 per night for caravan incl. Electricity.

Have booked to go back to this site in July with some friends.

An exceptionally well maintained and organised site. All the facilities you would expect and more besides. The dog exercise area was a god send.

Lovely clean shower/toilet block with plenty of hot water whatever the time of day.

A warm welcome from the owners with clear instructions on how and where to pitch. Large pitches - we had a tent with hook up and were sheltered form the wind by the hedge.

The site is ideally located for exploring the north norfolk coast - one of our favourites. The Duck at Stanhoe serves lovely food - probably best to book.

Looking forward to our next trip.

My wife and I have visited this site several times during 2010.

I have to say that every visit that we have made to the Rickels site we have really had a great time. On our second visit to this site my wife and I invited our daughter and her partner to bring they van up and spend the weekend with us and they to had a really good time and they continue with return visits as well.

We find now because we have stayed here several times now we are getting to know several other regular visitors as well as becoming friends with the owners Heather and David.

The site is so well kept and we found that the way the pitches are set out you have more than ample room and you are not directly looking into your neighbours van.

The site location gives you easy access to Hunstanton, Kings Lynn and Fakenham all very close to you.

There are also many other places of interest only a very few miles away like Sandringham House, the Fakenham Glass Factory and the Deer Farm at Hecham.

The village of Bircham just a few miles up the road has a working Windmill where you can purchase fresh bread, Jam and cakes etc as well as a tour of the Windmill.

I must also recommend a visit to Holkham Hall a short drive away. There is also a Deer Farm here and to be able to drive to and park beside the meadows which are just full of Deer and to be so close to them is unbelievably great.

We hope that any of you that visit this site has as much enjoyment as my wife and I have had here.

Child free! Wonderful. No screaming kids on site, no footballs being kicked about and no cycling on site. I know it sounds harsh but we have all been there and done that and now its our time.

Well done to the site owners.

Its clean and friendly what more could you want?

Spotless facilities, tv room, laundry room, dog walk.

Nothing more to say only WELL DONE!

First of all, the symbols need updating, there is a Spar shop in Docking, 2.5 miles from site, another 100 yards is the Railway pub, with Woodfordes Wherry and decent food. Even nearer, the Duck, has reopened in Stanhoe, 1 mile from campsite, real ales from the barrel, and what looked like a decent menu, but the pub was new and very popular so couldn't book in for a meal.

Campsite, is lovely, very clean, great facilities. The roads around are brilliant for cycling, most villages nearby, including Stanhoe, have duck ponds, the lanes are full of wild flowers, The small seaside towns are very pleasant, with the exception of Sheringham and Cromer - terrible places full of cars and people wandering all over the place. 'Come friendly bombs' could have been written with these 2 towns in mind.

Exact comments as previous reviews-- absolutely spotless facilities and grounds. Very quiet and pleasant area. Good location. The crows did provide us with an early wake-up call on Saturday, but someone must have informed them it was a bank holiday weekend because they were quiet after Saturday

Only two downsides were that we felt a bit exposed to the weather as it was tremendously windy and the grounds were quite open unless you were along the far side property line where there was a line of trees. Also, because it is slightly near a main road, you can hear the traffic noise in the evening-- these are only observations to assist other people in choosing their sites and by no means a criticism.

Overall, a really nice, clean and enjoyably peaceful site.

A really relaxing well kept site, great to getaway from it all and unwind. It is adult only which may be a problem for some people but it is ideal for a peaceful holiday / weekend.

We are about to have our third weekend there this year, it's becoming a bit of a home from home.

The showers and toilets are kept spotlessly clean as is the washing up room. There is a TV room too - we have never used it as we use camping as a time to rekindle the art of conversation, far too much time is spent in front of the tv at home.

The site is ideally situated with many beaches approx 10 miles away. Brancaster is just miles and miles of sand and Hunstanton has much more going on with a fair, amusements and everything you expect from British seaside towns.

This is a brilliant site - no children, mainly quiet couples, single people or small groups. No hassle to book - I booked the day before and there was no problem at all with this.
The pitches are generous, the showers and toilets immaculate - I would describe the whole place as kind of old-fashioned, but in a really good way.
Us campers were in a different field to the caravans which was positive. Everyone was quiet after around 10pm, and all up bright and early. The site is in a great area - woken by a lovely dawn chorus and hot sun.
Lots to do nearby, beautiful coast, houses and very quiet roads. Highly recommended, and a bargain a £12 per tent in high season.
