We hired a Eurotent to get a feel for camping before we splash the cash. We found the tent well equipped (full size fridge was a huge bonus) but felt we needed another table/surface for the kettle and toaster and other bits and bobs instead of having them on the floor. The tent (a Cabanon) naturally held the rain at bay and was mounted on a wooden platform. The site is beautiful, wasn't very busy when we went even though first week of summer hols. Didn't use the Launderette, showers and toilets were always clean, never had to queue. Lots of places to eat nearby, can recommend the Green Parrot in Perranporth. Kids enjoyed the adventure playground and we had a couple of walks to the nature reserve. Water and washing up faciltiies very close to all tents, but not under cover. A good base to travel out from, we went to Newquay which is very close and hired wetsuits for the kids. St Ives is beautiful. We parked at the Rugby Club and got the minibus down the hill into St Ives and back again for £1.50 (four of us). It stops outside the Tate Gallery. Eden Centre is a reasonable distance and they have done some fantastic things there.

Once again we have travelled the 340 miles to Perran Springs under advice to come down in the beginning of July. Unfortunately the British weather was typically British and it was a wash out. The staff at Perran Springs could not do enough to make our stay any more comfortable "three cheers you guys !" The new editions at Perran Springs are fantastic. The water heating system has been replaced and constant hot water to the showers is set at a very comfortable 42 degrees. The toilet blocks have also been upgraded to a very high standard ( not that they were not before ) with motion detector lighting and taps that cannot be Left running wasting water. Anyone wishing to camp in cornwall should give Perran Springs a try I can honestly say the staff are fantastic. Also the fishing lakes are improving each year ( one day I might catch a big carp instead of being beaten by the younger anglers ) We are holidaying abroad in 2008 but the year after if we go to Cornwall, Perran Springs will be the only place for us.

An excellent family run site that we have used for around 7 years. Central to all the wonders of Cornwall. The welcome and service we receive from the owners will make sure any time we visit cornwall this is the place for us. The fishing is getting better every year with new ponds being added. The amount of family's we meet year after year make it not just an holiday but a huge family reunion

When we arrived at the camp site we had been travelling for a long time and everyone was hot and tired. At reception we were met by very helpful staff who immediately took us to out spacious pitch and made us feel as welcome as possible.
The facilities there were superb. The toilets and showers were very clean and my family and I never complained that there was any problems about the washrooms. The wash and tumble dryer were quick and simple and just what a touring family would need. There was room for the children to play in and they had a fantastic time everyday down on the climbing frames. the site was very clean and tidy and there ample bins around and no rubbish to be seen.
The fishing was excellent and we are looking forward to a return visit next year. Many thanks again to all the helpful staff at perran springs.

Following the directions from their website, we found Perran Springs with ease. You book in and then are personally shown to your pitch. We were two families together and had two large electric hook up pitches next to each other, approx 50 yards from the toilet block and besides a sheltered hedge. All pitches were very large, even though the site was full, you had a lot of space between pitches and never felt boxed in. The toilets were exceptionally clean and the showers are free and have their own private changing room. Water points for drinking and washing up (hot & cold water) are situated all around the site within easy walking distance of all pitches. The shop isn't huge, but its stocked all the necessary food, like cereal, milk, eggs, bacon, break, tins, cutlery a few camping items and fishing tackle. Other facilities we saw included a laundry room, small children's play area, and a big playing field with football posts. The highlight of this campsite was the fishing lakes, although we do not fish, the lakes offered good walks and we saw lots of big fish caught by the anglers, something different from most other sites we have been on. Considering we went at the busiest time of the year, the family who run the site always had time to talk and give advice on the surrounding areas, pubs & attractions. This is a family site with no pubs or clubs. However their is a village pub within walking distance and the beach (Perranporth) is approx 5 minutes by car This was a great holiday to remember for myself and our friends. We have already booked up the same 2 pitches for Aug 2007.

Wow it will be hard to beat this site. Friendly and and in a great situation. The site had just what we wanted including washing showering and PEACE and quiet. The owners could not do enough for you with out going OTT, Would thoroughly recommend this site to couples and Family campers or they have static vans as well as Euro tents. Can't wait till next year

Lovely campsite. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Large pitches on flat well cared for land. Toilet blocks clean and tidy, if a bit of a walk from some of the pitches. No pool or bar but this meant site was peaceful. Fair prices for the area with Perranporth town and beaches close by (5 mins in car). Fishing lakes seemed to be well enjoyed by the anglers we spoke to. Will stay again.

Well here I am again, once more singing the praises of this site. Another cracking holiday. I was in the third field this year which has just been landscaped and a nice job too.
All my previous statements still ring true, as it is still my site of choice. I'm not old by any strech(38), but I do like to have a bit of piece and quiet when on holiday after a long day out sight seeing or at the beach with the kids. A bottle of wine and a great BBQ combined with the nice atmosphere here goes down very well.
I turned up this year forgetting to pre-book for electric hook up, and all the pitches with hook up were full. However, the owners of this site still managed to get me hooked up within an hour of being here. Now that's service.
Thanks to you all and see you next year

8 of us stayed at this site in early August. Mostly, we had an excellent time. The pitches are very spacious and the staff are friendly and always there to offer advice. Our only complaint is the lack of showers. There are only 4 female and 4 male showers for the entire site and we lost nearly an hour every day waiting to get showered. Despite this, we would go again.

A very pleasant site with very nice people running it, very clean and tidy, however it could do with another toilet block in busy seasons and please have some handwash in the loos, a bit unhygenic not having anything to wash your hands with after making a visit All in all a great place which is close to the best beaches in the world. BEWARE that you are not allowed to fly a kite on the beach at Perranporth, I'm 60 yrs old but was very sad that I couldn't do what comes naturally to me like FLYING A KITE, oh dear, so sad.
