Sorry but I disagree with previous reviews. First the good points. The site itself is very flat and in a superb location for visiting different parts of Cornwall. Also very quiet at night. Now for the bad points: The facilities are very poor considering we paid £25 per night. Generally the site needs to be updated. Only 4 showers for ladies & 4 for the gents, not enough for the size of the campsite, resulting in endless queues throughout the day, and they weren't cleaned often enough. Broken toilet seats Water in showers very often cold. No soap in the toilets Broken lock on shower door the whole time we were there. Small plastic domestic rubbish bins next to the drinking water points (not very hygenic) Washing up facilities were outdoors with no covers , so if it rained or was windy you would be drenched. People camping in the kids football field , so they were restricted as to where they could play. The worst point of all was the drinking water was brown on one particular day & we had to buy bottled water as we were afraid to drink it. Didn't taste very nice either. Also the hot water in the toilet blocks was brown all the week. When we told the owners about the water we were told that the water is like that in Cornwall & it is because they are at the end of the water supply pipe. Err no, I don't think many people in the UK drink brown water wherever they live. We found the owners to be unapologetic about the water problem and they would not take on board our complaint. The only thing they seemed interested in was telling the kids off around the site for playing in the wrong areas. Needless to say we wouldn't recommend this campsite and won't be visiting again.

We spent 4 wonderful nights at Perran Springs (2 adults & 2 kids: aged 4 & 1 1/2). The site was exceptionally maintained and the pitches were large and clearly marked; enough space for a Diablo 600, MPV and cooking area. Site shop had all of the essentials, toilet and shower blocks were kept clean and looked like they had been recently modernised. There is no club, pool or other form of "entertainment" which meant that the noise levels were low - ideal for a family with young kids. Will be visiting again in 2006!

What can I say that has not already been said by all the others. This is a well run and VERY clean site (I took a couple of moments to look around and I noticed no litter whatsoever here, not one scrap). The owners are the nicest people you could ever meet, always helpful and extremely friendly.
The pitches are very spacious, unlike a few other more commercial sites in the area that like to cram on as many as they can.
It's nice n quiet and is a great base to tour the area from. Everywhere you could possibly want to go is probably within an hours drive at most.
I have been going there for the best part of 10 years and will continue to do so.
Try this site once and you WILL want to return.

August 2005 This was the first time we had camped as a family and as such we had no idea of what to expect.
This is a first class camp site with great facilities. There are serviced and non serviced pitches (we went non hook up)all level and with plenty of space.
The toilets and showers were well maintained and free to use. Camp site shop was excellent and fairly priced. The family who run the site are helpful and help with anything they can.
There are no hidden extras on this site and ...wonder of wonders... NO PETS!. This is very much a family site with no "entertainment" - it is peaceful and people on the site are friendly.
Location: It is easy to get to everything ...Perranporth beach is 10 minutes by car, Eden Project 40 minutes...Penzance is about the same journey time. We mixed beach and site seeing and did not manage to fit it all in.
The experience was marvellous and we will be going back next year.

June 2004 There are 3 lakes on the site, which provides for great fishing. Lots of wildlife with barn owls and kingfishers present. Dogs are not allowed so the site is very clean. It is a great location for days out and close to the popular beaches.
They have lots of recreation space, and a few static caravans and tents are available to rent.
Facilities include a clean toilet and shower block, food is provided on the site.
Very easy to meet other people, and very friendly. I'm going back to Perran Springs in Cornwall this year. I went here last year, it's a great site, with great fishing, anyone else going?

May 2005 A very well maintained and managed site. Great for all the family, facilities are very clean. Licensed Shop onsite providing all the essentials. The pitches are well spaced out, and very flat
Set in a nice area with great views and lots of nature around, fishing lakes provide great fun with some very big carp. Located approx 2 miles from Perranporth beach with easy access to all parts of cornwall.
There is a village pub within walking distance with great drink, food and BBQ's. Will be going back to this site in the summer. Great value for money.

August 2004 Went last August and will be going in 2005, 2006, 2007 etc...
Its the best site I have visited in this area. Totally agree with all the goods points other members have mentioned about his site.
Very flat, well maintained pitches. Shower block is spotless and its like home from home.
Very well designed site, with hot washing up facilities all over the park.
Fishing lakes are excellent - probably the best fishing ive ever had!! and i fish a lot.
Lots of wildlife on site, family run and close to all the tourist attractions and beaches.
gets 10/10 for me

August 2004 Stayed for just a few days recently at the excellent site. The pitches are level and very spacious unlike many in this area. The owners were very friendly and the showers/toilet block very clean. The site is quite quiet which at this time of the year is great as I am not keen on the big commercial sites. Good location for days out.

June 2004 Lovely park, great for couples and families.
Amenities are top class and there are no hidden charges.
The park owners are very friendly and will do everything to help you.
This is the best camp site we have visited in the area and will be returning time after time.

August 2003 Have to agree with everything John said.
This site is very well laid out, with flat pitches, 80% of the site has electric hook-ups.
The showers and toilets are 1st class and very clean. The family that run it are very friendly and very helpful.
Its situated in an ideal location, very sheltered and nice views within a small valley.
The fishing lakes on the site are packed with very large carp, and there is a smaller lake which caters for families and children.
There are no hidden costs whatsoever, you pay for your stay, everything else if free, eg showers, battery charging, freezer pack service....
Look on their website as this gives a true reflection of the site.
Another good point is that the pitches are very well laid out, with lots of space between each unit, and there is a seperate field where children can play ball games.
