This is our third year at Globe Vale and this must rate as one of our favourite sites. The details in this review are in addition to my previous reviews on the site having tried not to repeat information from previous years.

We paid £25 a night for two adults and one teenager on a hard standing pitch with electric hook-up, water hook-up and drain away. For a site in Cornwall during the peak holiday period, this is a very competitive price.

This site is certainly worth a visit from anyone who wants a central location to visit all areas of Cornwall and I can thoroughly recommend it. The site has just been granted a 12 month licence, so I expect it will soon be open throughout the year.

On the surface, the site remains very much the same, but the site have spent money and time laying electric to the very top field where they have also installed a small toilet block.

Paul has also almost completed more ‘hard standing pads’ in the static caravan area as well are replacing the floor of the main toilet block because of a problem. There is a new information centre this year located near the reception.

The site now has fields that can and are used for rallies without and inconvenience to those who are not part of the rally. The site also has a storage facility for those who wish to leave their van here all year round. For information, when selecting a pitch ‘Fully Service’ pitches (Electric Hook-up, Water Hook-up and drainage) are available as hard standings and grass pitches. Electric Hook-up only pitches are also available and here are call ‘Premier’. There are no restrictions of how you place the van/tent on your pitch. You can pitch the caravan across the pitch if you wish.

All facilities are first class and are kept immaculately clean, even at busy times. For those who want the facility, there is even an outside area dedicated for wet suit washing/hosing down. The site has all the facilities one might expect at a caravan/camp site and the small bar continues to serve good food.

The bar is generally closed on Sunday evenings so a visit to the Treleigh Arms will also provide a very good meal. At other times, I found the beer good at The Bridge Inn (at Bridge), with a selection of real ales. If you go to Globe Vale as part of a group, a polypin of beer (36 pints) can be purchased directly from the Coastal Brewery (on the Cardrew Industrial Estate) – I can recommend the Poseidon!

A top class site immaculately looked after by Paul and Louise, and without a doubt, our first choice for Cornwall.

We visited this site for a week after reading the reviews here. What a great find!

This site is perfect if you plan to tour Cornwall, with its position right next to the A30 you can sprint up & down to all locations with ease (no miles of winding backroads to negotiate first!)

Despite its location there's no road noise, views are great too-rolling countryside across to St Agnes Beacon. Portreath & Pothtowan are both nearby. Other places worth a visit are Lappa Valley Railway & Healeys Cyder Farm!

The site is immaculate & split into 3 areas. Statics, fully serviced & touring field. We had booked into the touring field but as it was quiet / early in the season, were given a free upgrade to the fully serviced field- hardstandings, water pipe, ehu & waste drain to each (level & very free draining) pitch!

Paul & Louise take pride in their site & it shows!-The area we were in was sheltered by tall trees, the touring field by bushes with a slight slope to the field-grass was bowling green short!

Washblocks /washing up area like everywhere else-spotless! Bar/eating area was nice with great food. Outside is a new decking area which would be great on a warm summer evening!

There is no pool. There's no amusements so the kids wont be after your cash all the time-its good old fashioned footy, kite flying, kids play area etc for them- which makes a nice change!

Paul has been trying to get the Highways agency to improve signage from the A30. We had a little problem finding them-if you do too look for North Country-its sign posted from there!

Should you need camping/caravan spares there are places nearby. See the leaflets next to reception (also for nearby attractions)

Please be aware. If any of your party is in a wheelchair-all paths are gravel-great for drainage but a bit of a struggle to push on-if you go to Newquay with a wheelchair-go to the Aquarium-u can hire a beach version that can even go in the water!

To sum up- you wont find a better base for touring Cornwall. No, do find a better one-we want this one for ourselves!

This is a great campsite. Beautifully clean facilities, fab showers and generous sized pitches. Great play-area for kids and if you stay you must try the food, all homecooked. Recommend the beef curry and very reasonably priced too.

Staff and the owners are very welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Great location for cycling right on the coast to coast trail.Lots of Cornish heritage all around you.

I have no hesitation in recommending this campsite to anyone and everyone young or old couples or families.

What a wonderful surprise! You never really know what a new site will be like the first time you go - although UK Camp Sites give you a good idea! The views over the countryside from the pitch were amazing, and you knew you were in Cornwall by all the tin mine chimneys dotted around.

The owners Paul and Louise were so helpful and cheerful even though according to Paul he worked non stop day and night!

They have ploughed a lot of money into the Park, everything is clean and well kept, and they have an excellent although small bar/restaurant with great food. The meat used is from a local butcher and it was so good I called in and bought loads to bring home.

The site is very quiet and you feel you are in the middle of nowhere but it takes only a few minutes to get into Redruth for shopping or into Porthreath for the harbour and the beach and also, via the same country road the Park is on, its the same to get to Porthtowan - a lovely, sandy, family beach.

The park is in an ideal spot as it is just off the A30 and you can get up and down the coast very quickly also as this is in the 'narrow' part of Cornwall its only 9 miles from Falmouth on the east coast. The site is dog friendly and there were a lot there but unfortunately the beaches aren't.

Paul has maps in reception which give you all the information as to where and when you can take you dog on the local beaches. I cannot find one thing negative to write about Globe Vale in this review even though the weather was not good whilst we were there. We will return again.

We stopped at this site as part of the Midland Centre Caravan Club on the rally field. The pitches are of an excellent size with electric hook-ups and a water point between three caravans.

Not only are the pitches of an excellent size but they are arranged round the edge of the field leaving the centre free giving an impression of not being all closed in as at many sites. The shower/toilet block is of a very high standard and always spotlessly clean and I never had to wait.

The showers in particular are very well thought out, your clothes never get wet! Similarly the Elsan point is well designed. Access is ok for all sizes of unit and the site is only 10 minutes from the A30 which is the main road through Cornwall.

There is a bar/restaurant on site which serves excellent food, large portions and competitively priced with friendly and efficient staff. It is also centrally positioned for touring Cornwall. All in all I cannot fault the site and would recommend it unreservedly to anyone.

The only thing that surprised me was how quiet it was, which is fine for the lucky people who know about it. We will definitely be back!

A brilliant site. Our first visit to Cornwall was very worth it. We are new to camping and this site was 5* for us. Very clean toilets and free hot showers. Owners are really friendly and are always happy to assist you. We will defo be returning next year but for 2 weeks instead of as the site is central to most attractions and we run out of time!

Large play area on field to play games with the kids and the kids said playground was great. The owners 2 children were very well mannered and were happy to make friends with my daughter.

We had another good stay at Globe Vale. On the face of it little has changed here in twelve months, but I know Paul has spent time improving the drainage on the hardstandings at the bottom of the tourer section.

We met some familiar faces from last year, so obviously a site that folk return to. The site still had it's share of spaces, from time to time, even in the main holiday season. This surprises me, as the site is really good and worth a visit.

Paul and Louise are very welcoming and friendly and have done a wonderful job with this site. Absolutely well worth a visit.

What a beautiful, tidy and clean site. Pitch was nice size with a view of the country side. Showers and toilets spotless. Lovely play area for the children which is viewable from the outside decking area just off the small bar.

Friendly at reception and made sure we were happy with our pitch. Lovely walks just off the park around Peever mine, also you can access the coast to coast cycle path which takes you to Portreath, just across the lane. All in all a lovely site and would visit again very soon.

What a lovely site. We stayed here last week of July and first week of August. Pitches were of a good size. We were at the bottom end of the field and very heavy rain resulted in some flooding in the awning, but drainage was excellent and it soon drained away. Paul and wife were really lovely and helpful.

No shop on site, but gas available. Nice bar area close to children's playground which do meals at reasonable prices. Toilet block was good and were cleaned well and often. The site is kept very clean and tidy and is obviously very well looked after.

Globe Vale is in a central position for visiting most places in West Cornwall. Supermarkets (Tesco's) available in Redruth, Pool (24 hour), and Cambourne (5, 10 & 15 min. Away, respectively). Nearest beaches = Porthowan and Portreath 3 miles. Parking at both can be difficult at peak times, so we tended to travel down a bit further onto the Lizard, to Kennack Sands - it's about 40 min, but we never had problems with parking and it saved messing about at Porthowan and Portreath. Cinema at Redruth (& Truro). Camping / caravan spares available at Penrose Caravans, Scorrier (2 miles). Plenty of pubs around (of different types and ambiance).

Globe Vale is a new site - now about three years old. There were empty pitches available throughout our stay, but I suspect there may not always be when this site becomes better known. Cost was £24 a night: for caravan and awning on a full service pitch with EHU, water connection and drainage on hardstanding; 2 adults and one child age 11.

We were on a serviced pitch (water, hook up and drain) which was of an excellent size, the site is excellent and couldn't fault it at all!
The staff were great, we had forgotten our air pump for the air beds and the young lady who worked in the bar kindly lent us hers (sorry forgotten your name), the same young lady also put our tent back up after a pole broke while we were out one day! The food served from the bar was very nice and reasonably priced.
The site itself has a field with some hook up and a smaller field with a gravel road and some hardstanding for caravans etc, also static caravans for hire I believe. The shower block is fairly new and always clean and tidy they also have a family / disabled bathroom which is very handy (push button in all showers), The washing up area was covered too which came in handy as in our 5 days spent there the weather got worse by the minute.
The play area is good too, my 5 yr old and I had great fun on the seesaw after I'd had a couple of shandies lol.
Loads to do in the area the Eden Project is a must see and the gold centre about a 5-10 minute drive away is pretty good too (I think that's what it was called).
Overall considering the weather a good holiday!
