We spent 10 days at Globe Vale at the start of the school holidays. We were amazed at how quiet it was and couldn't figure out why! It only got busy on the second Saturday of the holidays.
Important stuff:
Staff - very friendly and helpful
Pitch - well marked and a good size
Showers - well planned (your clothes didn't get wet!)free, but with push buttons. I never had to queue.
Shower/loo block - always clean
Washing up area - 4 sinks under cover with double glazed windows!
Playground looks good (no kids ourselves so can't comment further)
Location - good access to the A30, to get further afield, but plenty to do near site.
We'll definitely be going back, but not for a while as we've seen everything in the area (although we were sad to go home)

We stayed for our wettest holiday ever at this site thanks to the great British summer! First impressions were excellent as we received a friendly welcome and were shown right to our pitch. The site was lovely and level and, as we found during the whole week there, very well drained so no boggy bits developed. The pitches are a decent size and the centre areas left free for people to use for games which gave it a nice open feel. There were plenty of water supply pipes and the shower / toilet block was new and kept very clean and well maintained, even when the site was full. Although there was only a small number of showers, we just changed our usual showering time to outside the peak times. We also used the disabled facilities as our son has special needs and found them to be very well laid out and accessible. Access to the site itself is good and not far from the main A30 and this made reaching other parts of the area extremely easy. We visited Dairyland, Flambards and Lappa Valley Railway - all excellent day trips enjoyed by both adults and children. There are at least two large Tesco supermarkets within about 10 minutes drive, one being open 24 hours with outside cashpoints. The site itself has a new bar and they have also just started serving excellent meals and breakfasts at reasonable prices. The children's play area is in full sight of the bar so you can keep an eye on the little darlings whilst having time to relax yourselves. We had some problems with a couple of things that broke on our unit and the site owners were only too happy to help us out and actually got both things fixed for us. They made us feel like we were staying with friends rather than just being customers and this has been the nicest site we've yet stayed at.

Our first visit for 3 nights and on May Day Bank Holiday.
We were the only 'Tourer' on site, others were 'Seasonal Vans'. The entire site is pristine, grass lush, green and well cut - all borders are timber edged. There is a new Toilet block with roomy showers, wash basins, urinals and toilets [with toilet paper]. The chemical disposal is a work of art - immaculate. There is a lot of hard-standing pitches fully serviced with water and drainage - what a luxury at £11 per night including EHU. Grass pitches around the field edge are well spaced with water nearby, leaving centre free for games. The childrens play area looks very safety concious and interesting for most youngsters.
The site has good access from A30 even for large outfits. It is very quiet and well away from any road noise, all you will hear are the birds.
I would say that this site is as good as any CC site that we have visited. Tesco [grocery & Fuel] is about 5 mins. Away by car. We enjoyed a coastal walk at Godrevy [near Hayle] to see the seals playing on their beach [National Trust].
Globe Vale Proprietors Paul and Louise Owen are very friendly and make you feel really welcome. We ran out of gas and were delighted that they were able to supply us with a replacement 7Kg Cylinder.
We are looking forward to going again when we come back from France.

We stayed at Globe Vale for a fortnight this summer. The site is secluded and quite, on a slight slope with wonderful views across the countryside and of St Agnes Beacon. All pitches are marked out with boxes, and there are plenty of water taps (about one for every 2 caravans) and electric hook ups in the field we were in. The fields were mown regular and the overall condition of the park was very clean and well managed.
Facilities on Site are second to non, warm clean toilet blocks, with free showers, a washing up area for the campers, laundry room, baby changing and one of the poshest Elsans Ive seen! There is a recycling area, and a large skip for general waste. The play park is up by the statics, so a short walk from the camping/caravaning area but our kids were happy just to play out on the field. Although we went in the high of summer the Site does not feel cramped, and there was plenty of space (away from 'vans/tents) for a football game, volleyball etc. Good central location for exploring the whole of Cornwall. Tesco is about 5 minutes away in Redruth, and easy access to the A30 for those wanting to go sightseeing. There is also a farmers butchers 1 minute away handy for getting quality supplies for the BBQ! Closest beach is Portreath, with a pay and display carpark, large clean sandy beach, cafe, shops, rock pools, harbour and good surf - all the ingredients you need for a fun day. This beach is also patrolled by Lifeguards. Overall an excellent campsite with friendly helpful owners who seem to care and want you to have a good stay. We hope to return soon!

First time we used this camp and have to say it was quiet! One caravan and us on the pitch! The new toilet block is not finished and we had a route march through the camp to go to the well outdated toilet blocks. Pay for the shower with a token which costs 25 pence and is on a timer. Told that it gets very very busy in July August so be prepared. NO bar, it was closed and looked as if it was ready for pulling down :-) No complaints other than the long walk to have a wee!

We stayed here in August for one week and we had a wonderful time. It is in a wonderful location for exploring all of cornwall. The kids loved the playarea and the site was small and safe. The facilities were dated but are all being replaced for the 2007 season. Would visit again.

July 2002 We camped at Globe Vale for a week and had a brilliant time. Ron and Lesley really are the most hard working, friendliest people. The site was spotless, with constant hot water and there was always a lovely atmosphere in the bar in the evenings.
The children loved the playground area (this gave us a bit of peace in the evenings) and we always felt that they were in a safe, friendly environment.
We will definitely be staying at Globe Vale again!

I just had to add my comment to this site. We could not recommend it highly enough!!! We managed to visit on the only week this summer where it poured with rain but we still had a lovely time. Leslie and Ron and a lovely couple and can't do enough for their guests. We camped there and it was clean and beautifully looked after. The bar is lovely and Sherbert (our German Shepherd) was allowed to drink from an ashtray (the novelty value really pleased him!) and he thoroughly enjoyed staying in the kennels for a day (Leslie and Ron used to run a kennels so took good care of him). In fact (so I don't appear TOO simpering) the only complaint I have about this site is that the shower curtains appeared magnetically attacted to me! So all-in-all, I'd say book up now!

I feel I must pass some comment about this site. We have had an excellent week in a static caravan at the site. The vans are very nice, all you need to do is bring along your bedding and food and your off. Everybody does look after you, any problems and somebody is there to sort them out.
There is a bar, now that is a good place to pass a peacefull evening, with bar meals available. Having tried the snacks, which are made locally ( actually about 1/4 mile from the site) and are delicous. We treated ourselves to a bar meal, it was excellent and great portions. The site is in "Pets Welcome" which is why we chose it and it is true pets are welcome, with dog walk and even under the table in the bar.
Excellent site, clean and tidy well lit of a night. Well recommend it to anybody.
