Well I am a little late putting a review on here but I promised I would place one.

First off, we thought the price was quite pricey before we got there, my view now is it is worth every penny.

If people are thinking of starting a campsite visit this site.

Staff are very obliging, the shower /toilet facilities are nothing short of faultless. One little thing I would advise, have a method of showing the shower/toilet you are using has an engaged symbol.

We had a cat with us and it was nice to know dogs are on restricted leads.

There is a pub within 5 minutes walk, very nice owner and really nice food, also a post office which despite being small seems to stock everything you could ever need. First rate thank you. We will be back, the Chew Valley Lake is a short cycle away and well worth a trip.

Highly recommend this site.

PS The hire care is a little gem

A very user friendly well organised site. The clever bit is they site your

Caravan onto a fully serviced pitch or one with electric. They even make sure your lateral level is perfect leaving you to level longitudinally.

There are a good number of individual self contained bathrooms. Sheer bliss. The welcome sign made up from winter flowers proves the attention to fine detail.

400 yards away is a general store. All you need including papers and good value wine. The Red Lion serves a good pint and enjoyable grub.

The dog walk could be better and allow do off the lead. Chew Lake is a sight to see.

16 amp electric fully serviced pitch with your own mini garden. Lovely. One for a return visit.

Visited this great site to celebrate a birthday and New Year. Access down Ham Lane both when arriving and leaving was a bit tight owing to a couple of parked cars, but not a big deal.

Access on this thoughtfully laid out and well kept site is very easy even with a 9m unit.

The pitches are cleverly positioned giving areas of a few units and a higher level of privacy than you would expect. All the christmas Lights gave the site a great festive atmoshere

The unisex toilet and showers are in large individual units which were heated and spotlessly clean and are amongst the best we have ever used.

Lots of hooks and surfaces to put things on and not have to worry about getting them wet when stepping out of the shower.

It was if someone had taken all the best parts from other sites and put them together here.

As it has been mentioned before, easy to see why this site has won so many awards.

We used the Red Lion in the village which was friendly and we can recommend the food. Bar had a good range of beers and wines and it is a 3 minute walk from the site.

We also went into Bath (25 min drive)and visited and used the Roman Baths, expensive but memorable to be in the hot bath on the top floor out in the open in December in the rain!

Easy to understand the awards this site has received.

Where do you start,

Thoughtfully laid out with excellent shrub borders between pitches, Facilities best we have have seen

Very sensible.

There is a nice walk upto the lake via the country park, cafe by the lake is very reasonable and has a wide selection of food, very busy while we were there considering the time of year.

The Red Lion a short walk away was also reasonable and very friendly. There is also a very good Indian restaurant(sutton Spice) which is at the Sutton Wick end of the village, beyond that there is a Farm Shop and cafe well stocked and varied menu.

For those like us who have to rely on buses rather than move the Motorhome, the buses are few and far between but reliable, we found the local bus travellers very helpful with finding the stops in Bath and Bristol.

We have just returned from a very relaxing and chilled out week on this beautiful and extremely peaceful site. The garden style layout with borders/trees/shrubs gives privacy and is really charming; we just loved the look of it all and it is extremely well maintained. Staff are attentive, friendly and welcoming. We are more than capable of pitching and levelling our 'van but completely happy to let them do it for you as per their rules. They have a most efficient system which works well and everything is dealt with quickly. A well-oiled machine!

The many individual bathrooms with toilet/shower/sink/hair and hand dryers are fantastic. Each one is differently laid out and they are immaculate. They are cleaned many times a day; staff seemed to get to the last one and then start again we reckon as they were always spotless! They were also wonderfully warm; a joy to use to be honest.

We had a fully serviced pitch with electric/tv point/waste and water on tap and it was just brilliant. Not having to empty the wastemaster or refill the aquaroll was worth the extra £2 pn in our opinion.

Recycling facilities are excellent and we liked the lovely utility room with freezer / handwashing sink / dishwashing sink / 2 x washers and dryers. Separate room with sink for washing out the toilet cassette. We particularly liked the small free library of books and our most favourite things were the leaflets with walks written by a local enthusiast. We followed 5 of these walks around lakes and reservoirs and the most beautiful countryside - so many places to walk it really is a wonderful location.

You can leave the car on site and walk for the day or catch a bus from the village, a 2 minute walk up the lane. There are so many pubs in the area (again another helpful guide has been prepared for you to take away) and we managed to visit a few, eating out many times. If you want a reasonably priced meal the Red Lion in the village is nothing fancy (proper locals pub) but the meals are generous good pub grub and good value for money. We ate there twice as it was nice to stroll over for dinner and then back to the site to chill. If you follow the guided walks make sure you do the one starting at the Kings Arms pub at Litton. A glorious 3. 5 mile walk around a beautiful reservoir and you can finish at the Kings Arms for a drink. It is one of the most gorgeous pubs we have ever seen - just loved it and next time we will eat there. Menu is pricey so we gave it a miss after eating out so many times already but we wish we had now. One for next time!

So, as you will see, we loved this site and will definitely return at some point. The only small criticism I have is the price of the internet which is quite steep at £12 for a week I think but then you do not have to have it! I do like to log on of an evening so was happy to pay the price and the connection worked well and never let me down. Do try this site; you won't be disappointed at all, it is lovely.

Just returned from a week at Bath Chew Valley we thought the site was lovely and peaceful and well kept. The showers, toilets and washing facilities are all together in separate units which I think was better they were cleaned twice daily. This site is handy for visiting Bath, Weston supermare, Wells and a few other lovely places. We had a meal at The Red Lion which was very nice but we thought The Blue Basin /bowl ?pub was better value and a nicer meal. The use of the library and free internet was good, staff was friendly and stopped some people comin on late at night who obviously had no intentions of paying thank god for cctv. Overall we liked the site but don't think it warrants a five star, four definitely also thought it a bit pricey.

7 day stay and to be honest this is not a 5 Star site. The shower blocks could do with an update and taps are temperamental, hot or hot. The actual site is very well laid out and very attractive. A word of advice. When booking, ask not to be near the entrance, unless you're happy with caravans being shuffled back and forth, as all roadways are loose stones, not tarmac. This also applies to everybody walking back and forth to the toilet block, , rubbish facilities. Crunch, crunch. Would we stay again ? Probably not, as it's also quite pricey. Definitely not the Caravan Club standard. We would be happy to give it 4 Stars.

This is an adults only site and if you want peace and quiet this is the place. Site is kept immaculate and very attractive. The emphasise on wildlife is obvious and well done. The pitches are well equipped and the caravan is parked for you by staff using a tractor, very efficient and helpful in the process. Staff are very helpful but not intrusive and arrived in seconds when we had an electric problem with the caravan.

The toilet facilities are excellent and never crowded, plenty of hot water.

Tariff is a bit high but we thought worth it, get what you pay for. We would definitely return.

The only downside for some might be having to leave the car in the car park after setting up, but we found no problems even as a wheelchair user. Enjoyed our stay.

Oh dear, how do we put it nicely without being too hard? ‘Lego’ came to mind – everything very orderly, standardised and regimented but lacking personality, totally faceless apart from the very few touring campers using the site when we were there.

We were greeted on arrival, given answers to our few questions about the area, accompanied to our pitch and that was about all we saw of anyone connected to the site. Reception was always empty when we passed. There was plenty of printed tourism matter there, but no human contact. The fact that so many of the units seemed to be parked longer-term, with probably only weekend or holiday occupancy, made the site seem very dead.

The pitch spacing is good and all facilities are in good order. The surrounding greenery is very well cared for.

In principle everything is clean and works perfectly. However, there is a major design fault with the combined shower, WC and washbasin closets. The WC pedestal is located immediately outside the shower. The low step and short curtain in front of the shower results in spray getting onto the floor outside, so subsequent WC users having to lower their trousers get them wet unless extreme caution is used.

The ‘roadways’ are made of deep shingle/pebbles, so every person and vehicle movement can be heard. We had a wheelchair user with us, and it proved impossible to move it through the shingle. We suspect our mobility scooter would have suffered similar problems.

The 800 yards quoted in their literature to get to the Chew Valley Lake is only true if you can go down a muddy footpath to the shoreline. With our wheelchair user this was impossible so we had to drive to the Visitor Centre car park, about 1 ½ miles away (a slightly closer car park on the lake isn’t suitable for caravan-towers or larger motorhomes). However, the Visitor Centre is well worth a visit.

Ultimately I suppose this site is going to please many people but for us it didn’t do it and campers with mobility problems should be made aware of its limitations. Disabled facilities are of limited value if access to them is restricted by the way paths and roadways are made.

All been said by the others. Great site, lovely pitches - ours was serviced pitch winch included tv point.

Shower/basin/ toilet cubicles were wonderful. Plenty of them lovely and warm with plenty of hot water.

Red lion was great. Came here several years ago and it had a young and loud crowd, now it is a lovely pub with a great sensibly priced menu and some great wines and ales.

A convenience store / post office nearby which is well stocked with all you would need and a big tesco about 15mins away.

Had a good 3 and O2 network but poor vodaphone!

Free wifi in reception along with a library and good information leaflets.

Highly recommended.

Can't avoid rating for child friendliness. Adult only site! So gave 10/10 to avoid bringing average down!
