We have just had our second visit to this camp site. The views are fantastic from all the pitches, the toilet & shower block was spotless & free. We took our 18month old grandaughter who toddled around, we felt she was very safe. The owners have a little shop that stocks almost everything you might need. Cant wait till our next visit as we will definitely return for another stay.

An excellent site with spotless facilities. Views were excellent and it is convenient for some lovely mountain and lake scenery, as well as the towns of Denbigh and Ruthin.
Not cheap though - I was charged £10:00 for a one man tent so I would think twice about this one again, and solo campers might do well to check prices prior to arriving.

Hi, this was the first time that me and my family have been camping and I must say that from the first moment that I e-mailed kath she has been so very helpful. When we arrived at the campsite kath and her husband were very helpful and the site it self was very clean. after pitching our tent we went to look at the facilities and I must say the standard of the toilets and shower block was excellent, clean and tidy and warm it was also a plus to have a laundry room as the weather was a bit wet and we needed it to dry clothes. the shower block was even very warm at 6.30am in the morning which was great as I was freezing cold when we had to be up and ready to go out. This first experience has been such a success and thats thanks to such a fab campsite. thanks

May 2005 Just had a great bank holiday weekend at one of the best small caravan sites there is. We only just got on via a cancellation but even though it was very busy it never got to be intrusive. Kath & Alan have to be the most helpful and friendly hosts I have ever come across. They were always milling around ready help especially as it was extremely windy on the saturday and several awnings and tents were flattened. Can't recommend it highly enough!

May 2005 Just returned from a great bank holiday break at this site, probably the best inland site we have visited. Both tents and caravans well catered for, well laid out, toilets and showers immaculate. Owners very friendly and more than helpful. Nice quiet location but within easy reach of all north wales area. Waiting for our next visit. Alan & Susan Hale, Stourbridge, West Midlands.

March 2005 My partner and I have been visiting this site for a couple of years now, and keep retuning as we love it!! It the perfect site to see the real Wales (we're not fans of the large commercial sites). The views across the mountain range are beautiful, and the sky at night is out of this world!
After reading through the other reviews, i wondered if 'Baggy' really is from Planet Zig, 3 Light years from Mars (see his personal review), or he's reviewed the wrong site! There is in fact, 4 wc's, 2 showers, wash basins, and hairdryer in the ladies, 2 wc's, urinals and 2 showers in the Gents (So my partner tells me), disabled facilities, washing up area, and all of this is in a newly built, modern building which blends in beautifully with the surrounding countryside.
We found the lights ample, and much more environmentally friendly than other sites we've been too where lights where left on all night, ruining the night sky! This truely is a lovely site, with the best facilities we've seen yet after years of being campers!
The shop has been really handy when we've forgotten some basic items, and as the owners say in one of ther humerous notes 'Theyre not Tesco's', but they do have a good selection! We must recommend this site to all, its beautifully landscaped, and theres even a play area for the kids!

September 2004 We visited this site from 29 Aug to 5 September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Prices were reasonble and the site was lovely with some lovely views. It was peaceful but placed centrally for a driveto any of the attractions throughout north wales.
Owners seemed lovely and generally this was a very welcoming site, which although very busy over the bank holiday never got too noisy.
The only negative points for us as a couple were
1. only 2 showers and 2 loos is not a lot when it was as busy as it was on the bank holiday. however the toilets were kept immaculate during that period and we never experienced large q's.
2.the tone of some of the notes was a little abrupt, 1 relating to hot water in the gents read like a telling off!
3.once the bank holiday was over we were theonly ones who stayed on really and suddenly the showers never got cleaned even after the grass was cut. After beinig kept so well when it was busy it left us a little narked that it stopped when there was only us!
That said, lovely holiday and lovely site and we would (and probably will )return (just like to point out things for improvement!).
Ps must definately book if intending to visit at bank holiday as it was fully booked.

September 2004 We visited the site a year or so back and it's got even better during our latest visit - the facility block is the best we've seen in Wales and the little shop is useful too.
Kath and Alan are the most pleasant and polite hosts we've met for a long time and they seem to be developing the site more and more and it's just an ideal spot for one night or more if you want a base that will allow you to explore both the North Wales coast and inland.
The site it quiet - surrounded by farms and sheep - and easy to reach from the A55 and the Midlands main roads and Denbigh is just around the corner with a good supermarket for your supplies.
Just take a beer or bottle of wine, turn your TV or radio off and sit outside in the evening - you'll enjoy the view of the sun going down over the nearby hills then clear skys to watch the stars. Enjoy your stay!!!

August 2004 This campsite is excellent, it offers a very quiet location, with a really friendly atmosphere. The toilets & shower blocks are very clean, & the site provides all facilities needed. There is a small shop on site & as the owners say unfortunately they are not Tescos, but they do have quite a few things in stock. This site is good for families as a small playing area is provided, it is also good for couples. We especially enjoyed it & our dog loved it too. Both myself & my husband are going back there this August Bank Holiday. Cheers to the campsite owners Mr & Mrs Welch. We hope everyone enjoys there stay as much as we did.

July 2004 This is an excellent site for anyone who loves peace and quiet and beautiful countryside, situated about five miles above Denbigh and with outstanding views of the surrounding hills all the way round the touring-field. The site owners are very friendly and helpful and provide good clean toilets and showers which are free, also a washing-up area, a small shop for essential items and a laundry service. The touring pitch is very well-kept and level with a small playground area for the children. If you haven't been to this area before I would strongly recommend it as an ideal base to explore Snowdonia and the nearby coastal areas, I would rate it as probably the best site I have visited since we started camping two years ago and we will definitely be returning.
