Just returned from White Lodge and had a very pleasant stay. When we first arrived, we were a little unsure where to go but asked in the cafe and was told our pitch number. As it was raining, the paths were very muddy but we managed and set up without a problem.
The site itself is flat and is easily accessed off the main road. The only problem we had was driving through Brynsiencyn which had cars parked on one side of a particular road and we had traffic coming towards us so they had to try and pull to one side. Not sure what we would have done if there was a car and caravan coming in the opposite direction and this was the way the sat nav took us?
As the previous reviews have said, the owners were extremely helpful and we doing the utmost to ensure that the visitors enjoyed their stay. They are making improvements to the site which weren't quite finished but should be soon. There were new ladies showers being improved and they even sent out a questionnaire asking if there were any improvements that could be made. This is how all owners should be! They even gave the kids Easter pictures to colour in and display in the cafe. They then received a cream egg.
There is a small park for the children and they soon made friends. There is plenty of space for them to run around. They also have a table tennis hut to keep them quiet if it was raining. The views are also stunning - looking out over the mountains first thing was fab!
You do need a car to get the most out of your stay though. It was a five minute drive to the nearest shop so make sure you stock up before you arrive. It was also a 5 min drive to Newborough beach. A £3 toll allows you access to a fantastic forest and beach which was great for the kids and the dog - well worth the drive.
All in all, it was a very relaxing break and we would return in the near future but would be more aware of the facilities in the surrounding areas. We would love to see the finished improvements and have more of those delicious home made chips.

Toilet/shower facilities need improving only 2 showers. But kept clean.
Childrens play area.
Small cafe serving good food (especially breakfasts!)
Electrics need upgrading ampage very low kept tripping.
Nice walk to an estuary kids played safely in water there.
Would go again.

We stayed here In a tent. B/H May
The site Is only small. 'But a little gem'.Toilets adequate clean & tidy. Tent pitches flat and spacious. Lovely cafe. Good food reasonable prices.Campsite family orientated.
Lovely views across menai straights to Snowdonia. Lovely forest walks at Newborough and local beach. Chris Barrie and family make you very welcome and are very helpful. They had just bought the site and were updating & renovating to acquire good standards.
I would recommend this site. Its In a nice hidden area of Angelsey.

Just returned from white lodge a small site (what we prefer ) the owners very friendly and helpful, ownly 2 shower's ( inside ) but very clean and lots of hot water, two WC's outside also very clean, and a little cafe great food and great value for money, a covered area outside to eat and a small play area for children. All in all a very good site, there is a lovely walk to the beach, turn left and keep going through the wood about two miles, or ten mins by car through the village costs three pound to park but you will not be disappointed FAB!

- Small site with limited toilet shower facilities, but in good condition.
- Located near Newborough nature reserve, a beautiful area of coastal dunes where rare wildflowers grow.
- Very good value at £11.50 a night.
- Site has own cafe, shop and laundrette, friendly helpful staff.
- Stunning views across to Snowdonia.
- Showers FREE, go through cafe to get to them. Toilets in sheds but well maintained, warm and clean.
- Some distance from amenities, but peaceful walks all around.

We spent our first ever camping experience here. The facilities are basic but serve the need. There are only two bathrooms but for such a small site it wasn't a problem. You have to queue for the bathroom in the cafe so why not have a cuppa whilst you wait. The food in the cafe was cheap and lovely. Our two sons (6 and 2) loved it. The play area was small but the kids mainly played in the middle all together. The site was lovely and we will definitely visit again.

Again very poor facilities. Two showers for men and women. Not very clean either. Seemed a very run down site. We didn't try out the cafe although it did look cheap and cosy. Wouldn't go back sadly.
We thought it was a bit out of the way too.It does have a local village in walking distance but is a drive to the nearest beach.
Seaworld and anglesey riding school10 minute drive away.

The site is clean, cheap, well situated & basic. If you're after fancy facilities, this is not the place to come. If you want friendly, helpful staff, clean facilities & a well laid out site, this is your campsite! It is cheap (even though we have a HUGE 8-berth tent, because there was only 3 of us in it, they charged us 3 man tent prices!) & well situated. It's a mile drive through Newborough village to a blue flagged beach through a forest (ideal for hikers & mountain bikers), you have to pay £2 to get into the forestry commission car park. The shops in the village are well priced for provisions & the chippy is lovely! The site is well maintained, & although we were there on a busy weekend, it was kept clean. There are free hot showers, but only 2, but never had a problem with that. There are only a couple of outside loos as well, but never had an issue with that either. The shop was well stocked. The kiddies play area was alright, small but with enough equipment to keep my 3 year old son occupied. Everyone abided to the 11pm noise cutoff & because it's a site aimed at families, it isn't a place for those that like to lie-in as kids don't do that & signs of life appear at about 7am! I unfortunately didn't get round to sampling the much rated apple crumble, but there's always next time!

Visited the site beginning September and the property was for sale so there will be a change of ownership soon. Facilities were disappointing only 4 toilets and 2 showers, and I dont think they had seen muchof a refurb as was stated in their web site. However the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Here's looking forward to another year of visits to the best site on the island, AND more APPLE CRUMBLE !!!! We visited here five times last year, so it must be good !!. This site is very well run by Anne & Tony & their family. They are always friendly & helpful. The shop stocks everything that you may require. The facilities are clean & tidy. (:-)
