 This was our 2nd stay at lower hyde, our static caravan was situated in a lovely spot, with a large grass area to the front for the kids to play, the site itself is of medium size with wooded walks and plenty of room around pitches, the club has a great kids club, our kids were made to feel very welcome, all staff from the shop to entertainment are all friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Shanklin is a 5 minute walk away, it has a wide array of shops, we can highly recommend pearly boise ice cream parlour! a little further on but within walking distance is shanklin beach, one word to describe it is 'gorgeous' it has a small promonade with shops and arcades, we spent many an evening here. Sandown is a short car or bus ride, this is a larger busier town but equally as nice as Shanklin, there are good public transport routes to the whole island, the island has attractions to suit every member of the family we stayed here for a fortnight and were never bored once! the only downside to lower hide is the small indoor pool, but if the weather is anything as good as we had the indoor pool is not required! we cant wait to go back to lower hyde

Hi all, just returned from our first visit to this park, we had such a good time we are going back next year.
On arrival you go straight to the touring area reception, were you will be greeted by very friendly staff. The pitches are huge and most of the ehu pitches are level. The pitches are set on the highest point of the site and it can be very windy (take advice from staff before you pitch on wind directions).
The toilet block was built last year and is kept to a very good standard (they were cleaned at least twice a day). Both the mens and ladies have a family room which consists of a bath,shower, sink and toilet as well as several single shower cubicles.Their are 2 pools on site however the indoor pool is a bit on the small side. The shop sells the usual provisions but their is a lidl next to the entrance to the park and a morrisons 5 mins down the road. The club is reasonably priced and has some good entertainment.
The beach is about a 10min walk.
Overall a very good site and we will be going here again.
