This was our second visit to this members only site. Be advised, make a wide swing as you drive in. The entrance gate is sharp left, not the one you see first. This is a nice if unspectacular little site.
Fairly flat and open not much privacy. However it was kept in amazing condition. The shower block was always spotless. Credit to the wardens who were a lovely couple and very helpful.
The shower cubicles are tiny. I didn't see a play area or space for ball games so might not suit families with kids. Site seems to be quiet, we were treated to bell ringing practice one evening which was good.
Cheddar village is nice. The church is worth a visit. There is a butcher/greengrocer, a Budgens store and Tesco express. There appears to be plenty of places to have a drink or a meal.
Make a point of walking up the Gorge, it's not far but very well worth the effort with plenty of eating places and souvenir shops. Go past these and it gets really good. Tyntesfield is lovely. If you visit Weston-Super-Mare, stick to the front and old part, don't bother with the town centre. We will certainly be going back next year to do some walking. All in all this is a nice site, you can even hear the sea-lions at night.

This was our annual visit to this lovely CC site.

Large pitches, especially the hardstanding pitches. Barrier card system in and out and keys to the toilet blocks (handed out on booking in). Lovely toilet/shower block - pristine 24-7 - showers are pretty small though! Separate laundry room and washing up room, again both spotless at all times. Minimal re-cycling - glass only on site.

The site offer cream teas (take away) and discounts off tickets into the caves.

Easy walk into the village with it's array of shops and eating and drinking houses. Plenty of doggie friendly places to eat and drink too. Can recommend The Galleries for its cider alone (!) and the Riverside for its bar food (£10 for two meals served between 10am - 7pm!).

Hoping to go back at Easter for a longer stay this time.

Had a 2 night stay at this site and it was lovely. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The facilities were lovely and clean, you couldn't fault them.

The site is very close to the village centre by a short walk over the bridge. We did go the road way at first because we weren't aware of the bridge and this was very difficult as there is no pavement in places and it is on corners.

Visited the Caves and Gorge, which was very interesting. You can purchase tickets from the site reception at a discounted cost. However, we bought them from the main office in the village and were still given a discount as we mentioned that we were caravan club members.

We had a meal in the evening at the local indian restaurant, which was very nice. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.

I would definitely visit this site again.

The site is really good for access to the Gorge, which is within walking distance. Access to site is a one vehicle track, however you have to depart by 12 noon and cannot access the site till after 1pm therefore the narrow lane will not be a problem. The owner was quite rude both to myself and my parents on arrival, we had been routed by our sat nav through Bristol. She got out the Caravan Club book and waived it around very close to our faces telling us to READ the book!, she also told my child of 12 'what do you want' when he went in the shop, then got angry with me as the iron stopped working and when I went to tell her, she abrupt and rude. However I would return to this site because of its wonderful location.

What a lovely site.Well kept and lovely friendly wardens.Who seemed to work very hard to keep this site looking lovely with all the flowers and well kept grass.

We found a grass pitch as no hardstanding left and had loads of room.

The toilet block was kept spotlessly clean by the wardens with excellent showers.

We sampled one of the wardens cream teas which was very yummy.

The walk into Cheddar was pleasant and took us about 15 mins. We were a little disappointed with the town seemed a little run down from when we last visited five years earlier.

There is no dog walk on site but plenty of places of site a walk away to walk the dog.

Stayed on this site for a week, the toilet/shower/washing facilities are immaculate and can't be faulted. The lane to the site is very narrow as others have stated. There were no hard standing pitches available when we arrived so had to pitch on the central grass section, which would be fine if it had not rained for the whole 7 days, the pitch became flooded! The site is ideal for Cheddar Gorge (2 min drive, 15 min walk) which I highly recommend. There are many other attractions and places to visit within 45 minute drive from the site. Budgens supermarket and Tesco express conveniently located in the village. There is also a massive carboot/market on the Sunday which is a couple of miles up the road and well worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. The children all played together around the site, was a shame there was no play area for them. The site wardens are pleasant enough however, did feel that we were on inspection every morning as he rode around on his mower, overheard a few people complaining about the military style running of the site. Having said that it is a very pleasant site but for us personally we feel it is more of a stop over site as opposed to staying for a weeks holiday.

A lovely site and not too far from the Motorway system, so ideal for a stopover for a couple of days or longer. Access to the site is via a very narrow road, hence a 1pm book in time. The hardstandings were large gravel with plenty of room.
The toilet block was clean and modern, my only criticism was the shower cubicles were narrow. There is a good dishwashing facility and laundry, also a good information room.
Access to Cheddar Village is easy via the railway bridge, bit 'hairy' by road. Cheddar village has large well stocked 'Budgens' close to the site, in the car park is a display board of cycle & walking routes. There is a bus stop by the market cross with hourly buses to Wells & Weston-Super-Mare.
Cheddar Gorge and its attractions are a 15 min walk from the site, get your tickets from the Caravan Club reception (saving of £3 per person also valid for 10 years if not used!) next to the site is St Andrews Church which is worth a visit. There are War Graves in the churchyard, their book of remembrance is inside the church.

This is a great site and worth a visit. Cheddar is dog friendly and many on the site had dogs, however the warden was very unhappy (quite rightly) as some owners had allowed their dogs to foul the site and not cleaned up!

Well what a lovely site, wardens are just so friendly and helpful. Have cream teas for sale at reception every day, and free range eggs, lovely. Dogs had an absolute ball, rabbits all over the place.
Turn left out of site and walk all the way to the field alongside the stream, well river yeo, and huge space for dogs to run about. Went to Wells what a lovely place, cathedral stunning.
You have to be off the site by 1200 but cant arrive til 1pm, and you can see why, the lane to the site is only big enough to get one vehicle width down, so the hour gives leeway to all parties. Went to the Mousehole Cafe in the gorge, which is only about 5 mins walk from site, and this cafe is highly recommended, lovely staff and great food, all light and airy and you can see your food being prepared and cooked.
Everywhere in cheddar is dog friendly, even cafes, and the caves. We spent a week here but would have stayed longer if we didn't have to go back to work boo hoo. Facilities are immaculate, will defo be returning.
Went to Burnham on Sea, wont go back there, no dogs allowed on beach at any time of year, no way no how, but you can leave your dirty nappies and litter on the beach and you don't get penalised, not sure how that works. So that is one place that has lost our custom.

A Caravan Club gem! Friendly and helpful wardens. Hardstanding pitches are really big. Toilet block spotless and plenty of everything for the size of the site. Indoor washing up area.
The site is a short walk to Cheddar Village and Gorge with all its cafes / tearooms / pubs and interesting little shops. We ate in the Galleries Inn (right in the centre of the village / gorge) as they are doggie friendly. Home-made Lasagne was excellent. Proper Cheddar cheese used of course!
There's a Tesco Extra on approach to the village from the site (open until 11pm most nights!) and a Budgens in the opposite direction. Some noise from the football club next door but nothing too intrusive. We'll be back in 2009!

What a delight this little gem of the CC is. It is only a small site to CC standards but it is well presented and the new amenities block is spotless. Each of the EHU boards has TV hook up which enabled us to pick up Freeview.
The site is a short walk to Cheddar Village where you will find a Tesco Express, a traditional butcher with a great selection of sausages, a pub open all day and a great and cheap little café run by the church! A 15 minute walk takes you to the gorge. There are plenty more eateries here, and you are really spoilt for choice. You can buy 1 ticket that lets you in all the attractions, and this is valid for 10 years if you fail to cram it all in. We bought our ticket on site and saved £3 each!
All in all a cracking little site with loads to do on your doorstep.
