This was a pleasant campsite, with spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean and the showers were free. The only downfall was that there was no shop.
The site was in a excellent location for surrounding tourist attractions for example Trotters world of animals, which was less than half a mile away and Keswick about six.
We will definitely be returning in the future.

A very scenic and quiet site, and reasonably priced. Lovely views and sightings of buzzards (ospreys if you are lucky!). However, the showers did not drain properly and the lights were defective. The toilets would also benefit from soap and paper towels or hand dryers. A hairdryer would be nice! The facilities are rather a long way from the camping pitches. On a more positive note, the showers and pot washing facilities were hot and plentiful - and, most importantly, free! There is plenty of space for children to play football, cricket and ride bikes, but there is no designated playground - parents of younger children beware. The nearest two pubs are smart hotels and priced accordingly, but within 2 miles there are excellent pubs with food in Bassenthwaite and Embleton. There is no shop on site so be prepared: the nearest milk and bread is in Cockermouth or Keswick - about 6 miles away. You can get fishing permits for the lake and your freezer packs at reception. A very relaxing holiday.

This site was very clean. The views were out of this world, only downside are that there was only one toilet block, which was next to the statics and only one wash room, also there was no litter bins close by. Unfortunately we will not be returning. It is a pity because this site has lots of potential. If i was to give marks out if 10 it would be about a 5 sorry

A lovely well run campsite a short walk from the lake. The tent pitches are on a gently sloping hill. Around the perimeter of the hill are touring caravan hardstanding pitches with electrical hookup. These can also be used by tents requiring hookup as the grassed areas between them are large enough to fit even the largest of tents. Toilets and showers,2 male and 2 female, were clean but unfortunately located a long way from the tent pitches.

We stayed in a static caravan so I can't comment on the camping facilities. However this is a well run and maintained site, situated in a beautiful location. The caravan we hired was new and well equiped. A large expanse of grass was well used by all the children to organise games of frisbee cricket and football. It is only a short walk to the river and Lake Bassenthwaite.
