One of my favourite campsites. Even though I live nearby and in the countryside, this site offers the best peaceful and relaxing camping I've experienced so far. Yes it does get busy at the height of the season but it is beautiful: woods, stream and moors. The twinkling campfires along the steam at night make up for the midges.

Visited this campsite in 2004 and 2005. Loved it. A very peaceful and calming site. Sid, the owner, or his daughter visits daily to collect payment. Very friendly and helpful. A fab site for children. It is in a valley with a stream running down one side of the site. Lots of woods etc.for the kids to go exploring in. A small site, with not a lot of room for playing cricket, rounders etc. But excellent for campfires, wood carvings and getting back to nature. Only downside is you can't book in advance, and as campfires are only allowed on the streamside of the site, fingers crossed you get the pitch you want! Can't wait to return this year!

Although this site gets very busy it is fantastic. Has a good atmosphere & perfect for walking. You are able to have fires near to the river. There are toilets & a shower. Large outdoor sinks for washing up. There are recycling bins. They accept well behaved dogs as long as you pick up any dog mess & bins are provided. There are a lot of families here but I noticed it is a place for those who like to be close to nature.
If you are expecting a club house & play area then you won't find it here. If you are looking for somewhere as a base for some good walking or sightseeing, somewhere animal friendly, a place with a good atmosphere then here is the place to be.
I have visited Pool Bridge 3 times now & I am going back tomorrow. It is best to get up early for the showers if you want a hot one & avoid meal times for washing up as there can be a queue. School holidays & bank holiday weekends are very busy. There are some quieter areas further down the field.
The owner comes about in the morning to collect payment. A dog called Tammy visits from a nearby farm & loves kids. Try it!
