Not a lot to say here only that it is one of the best sites in Northern Ireland. Clean toilet block and brilliant showers, safe for kids to play and fantastic forest walks for the dog. The main site sits on bit of a slope but nothing to really complain about. Rosstrevor is only a few minutes drive away with everything you would need close at hand. The family had a fantastic time over the 3 nights we stayed, it was just a pity about our glorious Northern Irish weather!

An amazing place, I couldn't fault it, the pitches were spacious and free to select your own spot. The toilet/shower and utility rooms were clean and tidy at all times.
My son had hours of fun playing in the adventure playground, the tennis court and the massive field that was minutes away.
It was very secure with a keycard security system, We so loved the fact that they stick to the quite time at 11pm, the lights dimmed and the security guards do a walk about to ensure people adhere to this.
Rostrevor town was lovely but we spent a lot of our time in Kilkeel. There was plenty of shops and the lovely harbour
We have already made enquiries for 2012, cant wait to go back.

The facilities really couldn't have been better. The toilets, of which there are plenty, and the showers were absolutely spotless. They were cleaned regularly throughout the day. The utility room for dishwashing was also spotless.
With three children to occupy everyone was happy. Cost for a tent is £12 or £16 with electricity. The tennis courts at £2.10 per hour were excellent and the playgrounds were lovely. Also, our pitch had EHU and water supply and a waste drain.
Campers make note most of the pitches are not level so staying in a tent we were definitely on a slope but caravans could probably be more level.
There were plenty of staff around during the day and security patrol at night. Overall the experience was excellent and I am returning in a couple of weeks for another stay. It really is a stunning location and well worth a visit.

Having returned to this site for the first time in this season of caravanning I was very pleased to see that my review of last year has stood the test of time.
This site remains in my view one of the best in Northern Ireland due to the friendly staff, the location and the facilities that it has to offer.
However, I did see that things both inside and outside of the park were starting to become a little worn and dated. The district council needs to repair the road leading up to the park as it is full of potholes and the height of the speed ramps need to be reduced. Inside the caravan park a bit of hedge cutting and tree pruning would certainly improve the look of the place.

This has to be one of the best camp sites in Northern Ireland. The whole place is just fantastic. We stayed at the end of August and the site was full but the staff were always on hand to help. Facilities were spotless. The area is beautiful with loads for my 4 small chidren to do. I would recommend this site over and over again. Newry is only a 15 minute drive away which sort out all your big shopping needs and Rostrevor only a 10 minute walk through the stunning park. There are no bad points to this site!

Excellent Site, the best we've ever been to, the site is kept to a standard second to none and the people should be recognised for this.
The toilet/shower block is exceptionally clean and is cleaned every 2 hours. There are security guards that patrol the site at night to make you feel very safe and the entry / exit card at the gate and toilets also helps to do this.
I would most definitely recommend this caravan site to anyone and we have booked and all for 2010!

Stayed in Kilbroney for 10 nights in August and had a fantastic time.
The setting was beautiful, very peaceful. Lovely walks up the mountain and in Rostrevor village.
Toilets and showers were well kept and clean. Cafe on site was convenient for breakfast or light lunch. Play park great for both older and younger children (mine are 1 and 9) both loved it. With picnic benches and barbecue areas, you can cook in an evening and watch the kids play.
Very family friendly and children roamed around in the evenings, security also very good.
Got a bit muddy after a lot of rain but no one can help the weather!
All in all a great spot and lots to see and do locally, will be staying for 2 weeks next time.

It's in a great spot. Just at the south end of the Mournes, right at the foot of Slieve Martin and on the shores of Carlingford lough.
It's very cheap at a tenner a night.
They take security very seriously - there's cameras dotted around the site, security guards doing hourly rounds during the night and you need a pass card to get in or out or to use the washing facilities. As my wife said 'It makes you wonder why it's necessary' but I know it helped me sleep better than any other public campsite I've been to.
There's a good public play park and tennis courts, but you don't want to waste too much time on man-made fun when you're in such a spectacular location.
We didn't use the laundry, but there is one if you need it. There's only one toilet block with dishwashing and waste facilities, but it's kept very clean and it's pretty central.
The cafe's only opened from about 11 to about 4, so we were never in it.
The 'No Open Fires' rule isn't strictly enforced.
The site is right in among the trees. We were pitched facing the road, but if we looked out the back of the tent we could easily have been in the middle of the forest. There's plenty of wee trails and streams and tracks for the kids to explore, and Rostrevor Forest goes on for miles, so if you didn't have toddlers you could easily use it as a gateway to the Mournes. If you've got a canoe with you, Carlingford Lough is great for flat water paddling. I didn't go all the way to Newry canal, so I don't know what access is like there.
There's aren't many bad points to note. The main one is that the ground slopes (it is a mountain after all). Even the hard stands for caravans aren't flat (how do you pour concrete on a slope?) and although they've made some effort to level off sites, none of them are spirit-level flat.
Drainage isn't perfect so it got a bit muddy outside the tent, but when the rain stopped the ground did dry out reasonably quickly.
It's a good site, and I'll be back when the kids have grown up a bit.

We arrived on a wet rainy day which didn`t help things. The general maintenance of the site seems to have been neglected. The grass hadn`t been cut and the gravel hard stands had more mud on them than 'gravel'.
Cars were allowed to drive wherever they liked, even though the place was soaking which created long, deep tracks of mud throughout the site.
On a slightly positive note, security guards patrolled every hour, on the hour and the entry/exit system was very good.

This is an excellent site, in both location and facilities. The toilet block is cleaned twice every day. The pitches are a combination of grass and hard stands, the hard stands are a little uneven but not too bad. The site is very secure with electronic barriers at the entrance. There is an excellent children's park on site with a cafe, Killbroney village is within walking distance and has all the services you could need.
Overall a great site for families with fantastic views of the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough.
