A fantastic and easily accessible campsite with a very helpful owner! Farm food was easily available, as was advice on directions (we got lost but called up the owner who directed us back!). Loads of firewood available. Lovely atmosphere and setting. No hassles whatsoever; great value for money. Would camp here again; definitely. Thanks!

Lovely campsite, bit of a slope and slightly rocky ground but great area and most importantly a short walk to pubs and shops in town! Most importantly to note that the toilet block is fairly new and tidy, but there is only ONE shower for each bathroom, one for ladies and one for men. Not a huge problem but its nicer to know beforehand so you can be prepared to either wait, or go bush and stay dirty. We went on the bank holiday weekend and it was very busy so it was a big wait for the ladies!
Terrific location to go on a Snowdon hike, you can catch the sherpa bus (sit up the top if it's a clear day!) up to one of the passes and then walk back all the way down a different trail past the cafe for tea and Welsh cakes.
Would go again for sure!

This is a lovely campsite even though it's a tad difficult to find. The facilities are a little basic but then again I have seen far worse. Me and my fiancee spent the weekend there and as it was her first time camping I couldn't have asked for a nicer place really. The family that run this site were very helpful with anything that we needed. All in All I would say 9/10.

Drove a long way from Brum and found that they did not answer the phone or there was something going on with the phone. Managed to find Capel Coch Road by looking at the map at the mountain railway station at Llanberis.
Owners very friendly, said to us to camp where we liked, found a nice spot under a tree at the bottom of the top field, big boulder useful as a windblock for cooking! Although, be warned do not drive your car down there as it may be difficult to get out of that spot if grass is wet / you have a crap car. View is truly awesome all the way to the top of Snowdon you can see the Llanberis tourist path pretty much all the way up, until it went into the clouds that is. Beats the BT tower hands down!
Youth Hostel not too noisy, toilet block little small in top field and hard to find a pitch not on a slope but all in all for 4 quid I was more than happy where I was and would not hesitate to return, notices up say they are going to put in some flat pitches. Dogs are running loose and were very interested in my burgers, would be nice if owners were able to contain them - bit of pest. Did not try shower block.

We were here on August Bank holiday and just turned up hoping for a space. When we asked if there were any available. The friendly owner laughed and pointed to about five fields! Most of them vary from slight slope to steep slope and at the time the bottom field was muddy. But it wasn't too bad sleeping on the slight slope for a night.
There were sheepdog pups but them and the dogs all seemed to be shut in an area by the house, out of the way of the tents.
There were quite a few people having fires so I asked the owner if he was okay with them. Much to my delight he was and even sold me a box of good firewood for £5.
For anything else you require. Its only a short walk down the hill into the town.

Easy to find from directions given on phone, 'just follow the signs for the youth hostel, we are further up the road'. Owners friendly. One shower each ladies and gents, but they are planning on more for next season. Basic toilet/ shower block, it was cleaned at night. 50p a shower, apparently there has been a pump fitted recently to push the pressure up, the ladies shower was nice and warm and an ample 5 minutes. There seemed to be 2 fields used, we stayed on the lower field and parked on the car park, just in case the car got stuck! you can park by your tent on the top field, but it seemed more sheltered and nearer the hot water, and showers on the lower field. No problem with soggy ground. There are dogs and they are friendly enough, there were chickens roaming about, and there were also some sheep in the field! There are signs saying about building more facilities and flat camping bits and work is in progress to do this. Really close to the village, so handy for popping down the pub or shops etc. Nice views from the site, you can see Snowdon and can walk it from the site. Lots of routes can be walked from here, just ask the owners, they have maps up by the reception too. It was quiet when we stayed, mid week, with about 5 other tents on the same field. More suitable for the 'earthy' outdoor type, not really suitable for people who like a football pitch field and a clubhouse type campsite. Will stay again next year.

Perfectly placed for visit to Snowdon, Llanberis only a 10 min walk down the hill. Stunning views down the valley over Llanberis and the lake. Basic site with mostly sloping pitches, so can be quite hard to find a flat pitch to set up. Showers, toilets basic but functional - but then you are paying £4 a night so cannot complain at value for money. There is a room set up for dishwashing, laundry etc with freezer, fridge, microwave so some thought has gone into providing people with what they need. Dogs on site were a bit of a problem for my young son who was a bit scared of them as they tended to follow us everywhere we went, and we were woken at 5 by the sheepdog puppies who had invaded the porch of our tent! Basically for the price you get a good deal.

We have friends in Llanberis so didn't hang around the site much, but it was great for 1 night. The owners seemed friendly, it is convenient for Llanberis and it had a nice feel, with good views. At the end of the day, it is a farm campsite, which the owners seem keen to stress is in the process of being developed- there were signs saying this and that new facilities were on the way. Otherwise, loos were basic and we didn't bother with the showers. Some sloping ground but lots of places to camp. The owners say they are planning ot level the ground out, but it's obviously a work in progress.

Lovely views from this campsite down onto the village of Llanberis with its lake and beautiful mountain views all round. About 10 minute walk to the village.
There are 3 fields on which to camp and toilet block on top field. At the house there are toilets, showers, laundry and fridge/freezer facilities, which are basic. There is only 1 shower in the ladies so can be a problem in busy times.
The owners are very laid back which adds to the feel of the campsite. They sell free-range eggs as they keep chickens. Fires are allowed on the top field.
The site is rather exposed to the mountains and was very windy when we stayed.
There are several walks to do from the campsite, including the walk to the summit of Snowdon.

Llwyn Celyn Bach/Hafod Lydan are the same place (but there are 2 listings for historic reasons). It is located 250m up the hill from the Youth Hostel on the left hand side which makes it easy to find.
Good * Friendly and helpful owners * Nice new shower/toilet block (very tiday and clean) * Hot showers! * Tumble drier * Microwave (I think) * Washing up sink * Work in progress to improve/develope campsite
Bad * Ground very wet and muddy, mainly because it rained a lot. * Campsite is quite exposed (particulalry for wind).
Clearly this campsite is in the process of being developed to improve amenities and conditions. It is a nice place in a handy location though in heavy rain it was somewhat waterlogged (as many places do). I would happily return to this site.
