This site is worth the drive out and is the C&CC further northerly site. The setting is perfect at the head of the loch and with just a fairly quiet road between the site and loch. Site is kept beautifully with flowers growing around the site and well cut grass.
Toilet / showers were clean but as said before in need of a refit. Water in showers was hot and good pressure.
Shop in reception seems a bit pointless as very little for sale and a really good village shop only a couple of minutes walk away.
We found the wardens helpful - but have to say lady who booked us in was business-like rather than welcoming or friendly. After a long drive a smile and a nice welcome go along way to your impression of a site.
Inverewe Gardens are 10 minutes walk - £9 per adult we thought could value as you can spend all day walking around. There are also a couple of well marked NTS walks from the gardens - stunning and worth the 50 minutes.
This is a great site and would recommend - when facilities are upgraded will be perfect.

Usual Camping and Caravan Club site although perhaps the facilities are getting a little tired and are due a revamp.
Toilets/showers were as usual on club sites immaculate but a little local difficulty with the water supply during our stay meant that water was often unavailable either for domestic use or showers (not a long term issue I'm sure).
Why oh why are the site shops so poorly stocked? this perhaps was a little better than most but still not good there was however a well stocked local shop just a couple of hundred yards away.
Nearby there are forest walks and of course Inverewe gardens (quite expensive) not a great deal for children at this busy site.

An excellent caravan and camping club site in a wonderful location. Although we had poor weather we did have one spectacular sunset over the loch!
Almost next door to Inverewe Gardens and in a good spot for other explorations.
A very clean well run site where the wardens work very hard to ensure that everyone is comfortable and happy and everything is shipshape.
There are good laundry facilities at a reasonable price and the toilets and showers are excellent.
All the staff were extremely efficient and considerate and we can't praise them enough in their running of the site.

Here is a site to die for. It is camping and caravan site so the facilities are good and well maintained. The site is normally packed and the pitches are not huge but it is worth putting up with that. The site is across from the sea shore and a short walk into the centre of the village. There is a small shop there and a very nice coffee shop ran by an English couple.
There some excellent walks up the River Ewe or around the bays. Inverewe garden are worth a visit and there is a bird watches hut at the entrance of the garden on the sea shore. It is free and there is lots of information about birds that visit the area and the hut is well maintained. I have visited this site on numerous occasions and I never tire of it.

The site is superbly locate looking west the length of the Loch,
Facilities are spotless but very dated and long overdue for modernisation it's high time the club got its finger pulled out in this regard.
Local shops are scare and what there is are stupidly expensive. There are a number of interesting days out such as the lookout posts and gun emplacements at the extreme western end of the loch.
All in all lovely site in a superb location but do remember to stock up on food and drink and fill the fuel tank in Inverness, the local prices are eye watering.

We left Ullapool and took a very scenic trip to Inverewe Gardens Camping And Caravanning Club Site. The manager met us and showed us where we could park, pitch number eleven. We put our Isabella porch awning up and sat back and admired the view of Loch Ewe.
The next day we decided that we would go into Poolewe and search out the area. We found a memorial to the Russian Navy at Cove we then made a journey to see the Rhu Reidh Lighthouse, well worth a trip even if the journey seems a 'little perilous', just look out for the Highland cattle they roam the hills. Their horns are big and lethal. The Lighthouse is also a hotel, a little bit off the beaten track, but worth a visit. Then back to the caravan for a fish supper. The calling butcher arrived on site the next morning, his sausages were very tasty as was his Scottish rib eye steaks, now that's what I call good service ! There are too many places to list here but Gairloch is pretty and the Millcroft Hotel is worth a visit, good food, roaring log fires a family business, well run and spotlessly clean, charming mine hosts.
Do visit one of many Smoke Houses for Smoked Salmon, Haddock, Dressed Crab all delicious.
Back to business, the site at Inverewe is very neat and tidy, nothing for children I am not sure but it maybe adults only.Lots of dogs on leads though. Washing machine, tumble drier and ironing board are in the laundry room though a new ironing board cover would not go amiss please. The toilets and showers are clean and smell fresh the whole site is very well run, We shall return next year and again no Midge bites, Yippy.

Camped in our smaller tent (without the kids!) in typical Scottish weather - hot and sunny one day and torrential rain and strong wind the next. The sunset was well worth getting drenched on day 2 and Inverewe gardens and the surrounding walks were lovely.
As we've found at other Camping and Caravan Club sites:
The Reception hours were very limited, although the staff always seemed to appear around the site if you were looking for them!
Both toilet blocks were closed for 1 1/2 hours during the day (at the same time) for cleaning
We had to pay for the 'hire' of ice packs for our cool box as they would not freeze our packs, although those provided were of good quality.
Something not mentioned by other campers are the two shelters provided for those with small tents. These were an absolute godsend to us. They are stone built with tin roofs and face the site with their 'backs' to the sea. Each had a sturdy wooden bench and one had a table, with plenty room for extra chairs. This allowed us to cook, eat and play cards until it got dark at 11pm rather than sit cross legged in a small tent while it rained!
I didn't see the kids play area if there is one? This is not a site I would take kids to, partly due to lack of things for them to do but mainly because it lends itself to a peaceful camping experience in beautiful surroundings and kids would spoil it!
I would definitely go back again.

Great location by the beach, river and near Inverewe gardens; friendly and helpful staff who took the trouble to phone us when we were running a few minutes late (and had inadvertently left at home the booking instructions).
Good information room and nice local walks. Some hardstanding pitches, some grass. Very clean and well-kept toilets and showers. Laundry area provided but quite pricey!
We ate at the Poolewe Hotel which provided a good and filling evening meal.

What an absolutely perfect location and a lovely campsite. We spent 5 nights here and could have stayed months. The plots are spacious and well appointed. The views from the site are magnificent, esp. Of the sunsets over the Loch.
The facilities are excellent and include plenty of dishwashing sinks and space, a small launderette with drying areas as well as tumble drier.
The showers and toilets are plentiful, clean and tidy, if not a little basic, but there was always plenty of hot water and never a queue.
The 'information room' had plenty of excellent leaflets and details about local events and places to visit.
We will certainly be back!

First time back on this site for several years so worth reviewing again.
The location is excellent, between Inverewe Gardens on one side and the village of Poolewe on the other and within a short walk of both. Plenty to do in the area, especially with Gairloch being nearby as well.
Facilities are good with electric showers which were excellent. Everything was as clean as you'd expect on a club site and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The weather was excellent and it was still to early for the midges (not that it's likely to be a massive problem given the site is on the coast and therefore usually with a breeze) so an excellent visit.
