Just returned from 5 enjoyable nights here in this picturesque part of Scotland. Lovely quiet well maintained site, Toilets and showers clean. Wardens helpful and friendly. Very close to Inverewe Gardens. A great base for exploring the north-west highlands of Scotland.

This is a Camping and Caravanning Club site. Very quiet; it is small, with quite good, clean (albeit old-fashioned) facilities. Water always extremely hot in the loos and dishwashing area. The main road runs between the site and the loch, however not too much traffic even in the middle of summer! The local hotel is friendly, and there is a lot to do in the area. Post Office/Shop is about 5 mins walk away, and has a comprehensive stock including fresh bread and pastries. Lots of signposted local hill walks. Fishing available in hill lochs - permits readily available. A good site for a family holiday.

Inverewe gardens is well situated a short walk from both Poolewe village and from Inverewe gardens. Poolewe has a small swimming pool and pub, cafe etc plus some lovely sea and mountain views. Inverewe gardens are well worth a visit and wandering about amongst the troplical plants and palm trees is a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
For the more active there is some excellent walking and mountain biking inland from Poolewe plus there are decent beaches nearby, for example at Gairloch.
The site itself is typical Camping and Caravaning club - smallish, less formally laid out that a Caravan Club site but with decent facilities.

June 2003 Couldn't fault the facilities - they were plentiful and very clean. Showers were free.
Site was set pitches (and the warden directed exactly where on the pitch we could pitch and facing which direction, which was a bit too regimented for my liking) - however, the pitches were of a generous size and there was no feeling of overcrowding.
Location is absolutely fantastic - some pitches have an uninterupted view of Loch Poolewe.
There's a hotel a few minutes amble up the road with a bar and restaurant which served reasonable victuals.
