May 2005 Just returned from 2 nights camping over the May Bank holiday weekend. Came across the site from just driving around Ulverston.
Camping area situated at the front of the site right next to a secondary road. As we arrive late and unannounced the only pitchers that were left were either next to the football goal posts or on a slight embankment under trees which backed on to the road. The constant noise from the traffic was secondary to the endless kicking of a football that continued until the early hours of the morning, and I mean early 1.30am on the Sunday night.
On a positive note the children’s play area was well mentioned and safe with wood chipping covering the entire area. (Slide, swings, zip wire)
A couple of toilets and showers were located close to the main reception area, these were clean and kept tidy even during the busy bank holiday weekend. The pot wash was a little bit of a trail up to the area were the touring caravans were located (500m away). They were extra toilet facilities here again kept clean and tidy also like the once near reception these had under floor heating.
A large shop mainly selling caravan and tenting equipment was located next to reception, the weekend we were there they had a tent sale with several offers available. Could have spent a small fortune!!
Local shop approx 5 min walk down the road which was well stock and at decent prices, further along was the The Old Farmhouse pub which did a large selection of food. Found the price for two nights quite reasonable 15 pound per night for one pitch, 2 adults and 2 children.
Would consider staying again but maybe in a caravan as these were away from both the play area and the road.

July 2004 We have spent several weekends camping here and enjoyed it every time and its only a couple of miles from Ulverston town centre, the toilet and shower facilities are excellent, we all loved the underfloor heating and the family shower rooms are great for taking the kids. The onsite shop is well stocked with camping, caravan equipment and spares. There is also an on site cafe which do great breakfasts if you can't be bothered cooking.
