Small well maintained site situated on the brow of a hill overlooking Hay.

The lovely little town is 10 min walk away, but uphill on the way back! Hay is, of course noted for its bookshops but there is also a good range of cafes & pubs.

Site is tidy with pre-allocated labelled pitches, facilities as listed, well-kept and spotless, 50p gets a long shower with loads of hot water.

No feelings of overcrowding, highly recommended.

Steve welcomed onto his very special small campsite which far exceeded our expectations. The view over Hay was superb and the site had ehu and excellent modern clean washrooms.

It is just a short walk into Hay down the hill to the bridge over the Wye. The cost of two of us with electricity was £20 per night which we thought was good value.

We loved this place and will certainly return.

A small, well maintained site with good views and friendly owners. Facilities are clean - 1 shower and 2 WC's per gender. 50p for the shower.

There is a small play area in one corner for kids. Not far off the road into Hay so a little road noise. If you want somewhere quieter with more space there's a nice CAMC CL site next door!

For us the pitch size was a bit small but we were there at a busy time and it may feel very different when it's quiet. Our pitch had been allocated prior to arrival so no choice. Vehicles are parked in the middle patch of grass as there's limited space next to your pitch. There was a mix of tents, campervans and tourers there but all a bit cheek by jowl.

We appreciate a bit more space and privacy than this site allowed so would only revisit low season.

My husband and I have been visiting this site for years, we started in a 2 man tent and now have a caravan. Steve and his family are always so friendly and accommodating. Its only a small site but a great location for exploring Hay. The toilet and shower block has been newly refurbished, its a very well kept clean site, with fantastic views over the valley. Its a 10 min walk into hay and over the river. We will continue to visit this site, wouldn't stay anywhere else. Great for family's, couples, and solo travellers. Well behaved dogs welcome.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very chilled and friendly owner. Lovely little park which our 3 year old loved, nice views and flat pitches. Facilities were fairly clean (50p for shower and 20p for hairdryer) but the site was really reasonably priced. Close to the town (maybe 15 mins). Would recommend.

We spent two nights at this tiny site in early August. I loved the quiet, grown-up, business-like atmosphere; the primary users seemed to be lone walkers in tiny backpacking tents and it was interesting to talk to them and find out about their route (a big contrast to the family-holiday type campers with huge tents in the site we'd stayed on previously). Most of our fellow campers seemed to be walking Offa's Dyke or here to cycle in the hills.

There was a small play area on site but no more than about 20 pitches and if it was full, very little room for children to run around. You may also struggle if you have a very large tent / camper. We were three in a medium sized tent which was one of the larger units on site.

Two toilets and one shower (50p) for each sex which didn't seem much but I rarely / never saw anyone else using them. Perhaps I was advantaged by being female as most of the walkers seemed to be men! Also on site were three washing up sinks, a drinks machine and a tumble dryer, all inside. There was a portakabin with a table and chairs - no doubt very useful if you're in a tiny tent and it's raining!

There is the most beautiful view from the site down to Hay and beyond (but as always beautiful views can equal windy hillsides!). The River Wye is a few minutes downhill from the site; head across the bridge and you're in Hay - no more than ten minutes walk.

A very nice, well-kept site which I would use again.

A small, well equipped camp site close to Hay-on-Wye. The pitches are a reasonable size and electric hookup is available. Ladies & gents toilets/showers were clean but only one shower each meant the possibility of queues during busy periods, there is a hair dryer in the ladies for a small charge. Facilities also include chemical toilet disposal, pot washing and a hot & cold drinks machine in the portacabin, along with a table & chairs. A fridge freezer is available for guests to use and there is a tumble dryer in the toilet block. The site is close to the road into Hay-on-Wye and you can hear the traffic but very little passes at night. Barbecues are allowed, which is great when the weather is nice.

The town centre is just 10 minutes walk and there are some nice pubs and restaurants, although they tend to be a little on the expensive side.

I would recommend Wye Valley Canoes in Glasbury-on-Wye if you fancy a few hours on the river. There is a nice cafe on site where you can treat yourself to a full English breakfast before you start your journey.

In early August there is an annual steam & vintage rally which is well worth a visit and it is right next to the camp site.

This is a small, peaceful site with splendid views of the Black Mountains. The ablutions area is clean and fresh. This is a well maintained site with many thoughtful inclusions for the comfort of visitors. It is ideally located for booklovers visiting Hay-on-Wye or those enjoying outdoor pursuits. A snip at £6 for the night. This is now added to my short 'Favourites' list.

This site is in a lovely location, just off the road that leads into Hay-on-Wye and has nice views across to the town. The owners of the site were very friendly and the site was well kept, toilets and shower very clean. It is a fairly small site and I did feel the pitches were quite close together, but for £6 a night I really cannot complain! Hay on Wye is an interesting town, lots of shops to wander around, good selection of pubs that serve food and nice walks along the river. This campsite provides a good base for exploring this very pretty area.

Lovely small site, toilets and shower very clean. 50p for shower but it lasts ages, 20p for hairdryer.

There is a portacabin situated in grounds which has tables and chairs if it's raining and you have a small tent, it also has a drinks machine (hot & cold). Plenty of hot water in the washing up station (washing up liquid supplied) as is the hand wash in toilets. 5 minute walk into the town centre which has plenty of places to eat and drink. Owners are nice and friendly, we all loved this site we would definitely return. Child friendly, little area in corner specially designated for them.
