This is my second visit ideal for walkers and cyclist, electric hook ups available,
this campsite backs onto a canal and is very near to a cycle path which is very flat and goes on for many miles.
The owner is very helpful and you are not rushed off the site on your day of departure.
The toilets and showers are ok and clean.
There are no near shops so take what you need
This is a quiet campsite and I will return again.

The road upto the site is very full of potholes and if you are pulling a trailer or caravan you would find it tough going, however the road is only about 250 yards long so its not a big problem.
The site is a very quiet one with caravan pitches at the top working down the field where I was directed to at the base of a small incline. The pitch was firm and after a good splashing of rain that had continued for well over 7 hours the ground still seemed firm and not mushy and at only £7 per night,
Toilets are old but clean and function perfectly, two toilets in gents and two showers in gents and as I was travelling alone on this occasion I assume there was the same for the female toilets.
The grass was cut and had no problem with stones and was able to get by with just standard hooks, electrical hook ups are available and looked like plenty room between units,
I would go again due to the peacefulness of the site, basic but had what you needed and ideal for a relaxing time.

This site is well situated if your looking for a rural area with easy access to Manchester and surrounding area. There are some lovely walks along the canal and a lovely walk along the old railway line, now a wildlife sanctuary.
The are two lovely pubs within walking distance, one by the marina and the other in the local village. When you visit you must visit the Boars Head in Higher Poynton and sample the homemade pies, Paul, the landlord / cook makes the best pies I've ever tasted, and I've eaten lots of pies.

We had great difficulty in finding this site although we had passed it 3-4 times. They need to put up a decent sign. The road or should I say track was very badly maintained large holes.
The site backs onto the canal & was very peaceful and well maintained.
The site is dog friendly although there is no exercise area.
There was plenty of hot water and the toilets/showers were cleaned daily.
There are shops close by should you need to get any supplies.
Would not recommend for a long stay.

Just wanted a quiet site near to home for a quick weekend break away with friends - and we found it!. This site is tucked away in a peaceful area close to Lime Park. On arrival staff unsure where we were supposed to pitch, but were helpful in locating a suitable pitch for a touring caravan, campervan and tent so that we could all pitch together. The site was lovely and quiet, well kept and maintained and the toilet and shower blocks are more than adequate and were clean and tidy (remember to take a torch though at night). There are some lovely walks around the site. We walked along the canal for miles, and also walked to Lime Park. It took us all around 40 mins (mainly uphill) to get there but it's a great walk and worth it for the spectacular views on route. The site was great for our 2 dogs and the 2 dogs on site were friendly and harmless (although our dog didn't like it when one of the resident dogs stole his bone!). If you don't like dogs though they could be a little intrusive. There was space around the site to play outdoor games but the nearest park is just outside the site so younger children would need to be supervised on route. The static caravan area was very well kept and complimented the site and is separate to the touring area. We would definitely visit this site again for a local weekend away, it really doesn't feel like you're just a few miles away from Stockport town centre.

Great little site.
Beside the canal so great for walks, kids playground and pubs nearby. Staff friendly. As are the dogs and the facilities were satisfactory. The weather caused the toilets to become dirty though they were cleaned daily.
Would go again for another short stay.
Quiet site and the long stay touring people where also friendly and gave us info about local things to do.
Plenty of hot water included in stay fee's.

Just spent the Whit Bank Holiday at the Elm Beds Site, was rather wary when I saw the approach road, cobbles and pot holes and was very glad to be in a Landrover Discovery would not have liked doing that approach in the old Vectra estate, although other makes and models had ventured up and none seemed to be loosing their lower appendages.
The site is very tidy, a mix of tourers, motorhomes and caravans. Then there are statics around the rear of the site. A very charming quiet site, and the peace was only puntuated by the site quad going about its duties.
Copious amounts of hot free water for a shower, clean toilets. A very nice pot washing area with hot water so hot it sterilised your hands if you were not careful.
Nicely mown site, a nice array of greenery seperating statics, tourers and tents.
Council playground for children just outside on the lane. Walks along the canal towpath to the rear. Shops not obvious but most folk seem to be there for the surrounding countryside and drove off for walks or days out. Dogs were welcome but must be kept on a lead, but not it appears the site collie who seemed to think it was her job to escape her lead and play cricket with the children at every opportunity she could get, not a nusiance, but, some non dog lovers may not be so forgiving.
Very nice coffee shop/cafe along the road, very friendly staff too, considering they were packed but still found time to make a pot of coffee and a pot of tea for me to take outside so I could sit with the dogs.
All in all a very quiet site, a very good central return spot. Long stay? perhaps too quiet and not very many amenties in surrounding area.

This was our first try at camping so we wanted to try something close to home. The site was basic, with toilet/shower block and dishwashing area, nothing else. We paid £11 for 1 night, at the time not knowing if this was good or bad, but we were okay with it. Toilets and showers very clean, plenty of hot water and the showers were free.
People were very friendly and we were made to feel welcome. Children's play area just outside the campsite and shops and pub a few minutes walk away.
Have to say all in all we loved it and couldn't wait to go camping again, although I do think that this site is probably only okay for a few days at a time.
