Beautiful site, filled with mostly larger motor homes & caravans. I was in a micro-camper with my dog.
Context is that this was my first night camping alone since being widowed the year before. It was a hard night for me to contemplate, I needed peace and quiet and to feel safe.
I paid the same as the large motor homes, £20, but I got the same pitch size and could put a day tent up too.
Showers & toilets were very basic, but fine, Id say most of their customers have their own in the vans.
The owner was great, very relaxed. I only saw them once upon booking in.
It was a really lovely site and I was positioned by a hedge with the canal just behind. Lovely spot. The one thing that ruined it was the hostility of one of the regulars, part of a couple in a large motor home.
I would go to the site again, the surrounding location is stunning but if she's about, I would camp as far away as possible or leave.

Good pitches with caravan on two level parallel slabs, makes setting up so much more easier. Water and Electricity close to pitch. Dog friendly litter bins.
The access road to the site has two sections of cobbled stones, drive slowly over these as they are undulating!
Would we go again, yes, next year.

Stayed here to visit Lyme park & house, which is a 2 mile walk up a very steep hill.
The site is ok, next to the canal on one side and a bike / walking trail on the other.
Nearest pub is a half mile easy walk along the canal. Good beer but food a bit basic.
The site is larger than it looks with quite a few seasonal pitches, but the touring section was nice and flat with good sized pitches.
It has a small toilet block which certainly wasn't cleaned while we were there, and you'll need to take your own toilet roll.
Only one working shower in the Gents.
Access is along a narrow road which is not helped by overhanging hedges and parked cars.
We paid £20 / night.

Stayed at the site as part of a D of E group.
We were given our own space at one side of the site which was great with a tree to shelter from the rain was really handy.
The toilets are basic with little to no toilet roll. No hot water and only 1 shower open.
The wash room was also closed. Little disappointing but it was a D of E and a good way to show the kids how to manage.
Despite being quite full it was very quiet.

Location by canal, perfect. Charm of varied site- unpolished but welcoming.
Approach road would be difficult for large units.
Trusting owners - not hassling see for payment in arrival.

Wonderful location, right by the canal and Middlewood Way disused railway line. Within easy reach of Poynton (less than 2 miles) with lots of shops, bars & cafes.
Relaxed owner, who will provide as much information as you request, but won’t bombard you with rules.
Lots of electric hookups, bins & water taps. No toilet or shower facilities open due to Covid, but chemical disposal point was clean & practical.
Pubs within easy walking distance, price for camping is very reasonable too, so what is there not to like? (Only the Manchester rain!)
Can’t wait to return, with our brollies & waterproofs!

Loved it. But had to leave early as we struggled to work due to signal issues.
But it’s a beautiful location so next time we visit we won’t need to work.
