WOW what can we say! Loved this site and the owners. It is exactly as stated a lovely clean welcoming 5 star site. Facilities were superb! Toilets and showers were immaculate. All the facilities and the owners were excellent and cannot wait to get back here! The only downside is you need to travel by car to get anywhere (no footpaths or pavements). The owners are very helpful with directions and the dog field is a very nice extra. All in all a lovely place. Children are not allowed to play near the camping areas which was excellent and they have a field of their own.

This site is quiet, well maintained and organised. The owners are always very helpful, friendly and able to offer advice about things to do and see based on a very good local knowledge. Each pitch has plenty of space and the overall feel of the site is always calm and peaceful meaning you can fully enjoy the stunning views. The facilities are always clean and regularly checked by the owners. The extra facilities like the fridge, freezer, tv, phone charger work well. There is a separate playing field and dog walking so other campers are not disturbed. The situation of the site means that you can readily explore the peninsula. There is a bus stop at the end of the road and many footpaths you can take.
If you enjoy a quiet relaxing holiday in a stunning area just waiting to be explored then this site is well worth visiting.

The site is well signposted and roughly 400 yards from the quiet through-road bringing you down a lane to the entrance on your left.
Upon arrival you will be greeted by Anna and Miles who are the most friendly couple you could wish to meet. They give you all the information you need about the site and local area. There is a security barrier which is activated by a swipe card that you will be issued with. On the entrance to the main park there is a Summer House on the left which has a TV. There are also leaflets of local attractions and sample menus from selected restaurants.
The site has a number of hard-standing pitches with waste water drain points which are extremely level and are perfect for driving your awning pegs into. All pitches have 16 amp hook-ups.
There is plenty of width for your caravan and awning and space to park your car. The garden is beautifully kept with a flower bed island in the centre of the field.
There is a playing field next to the main park where children can play, it has a fantastic view of Hells Mouth (a popular surfing area)and on a clear day you can see the South Wales coastline. Adjoining this field is the large dog walking area.
On the other side of the main park is the field which houses the the 2 Hobbits and tents. From the top of this field you have a glorious view of Mount Snowdon and the Snowdonian Mountain Range and the coastline including Pwllheli out towards Aberystwyth, .
The shower and toilet facilities can only be described as immaculate.
There is a fully equipped laundry room and a drying room for your wetsuits. There are also charging points for your mobile phones.
There is an abundance of countryside to explore by foot. If you enjoy cycling there are plenty of challenging rides to absorb. There are decent bikes available for hire from The Willows.
There is a Post Office/General Store within a 5 minute walk, a Londis mini supermarket in the nearby village of Llanbedrog and there is an Asda at Pwllheli if you need to do a full shop.
A couple of miles away is Abersoch which has lovely beaches and varied restaurants.
We have been coming to this site since 2007 and love it because of it's tranquillity. The children's play area is in the next field which means the main park area is peacefully quiet.
We like The Willows so much that we have decided to leave our caravan in local storage so we can return every year without towing the caravan on a 300 mile round trip.

We have just returned from a 5 day break at The Willows. First impressions are excellent, we were greeted by the owner, who showed us to our pitch and told us to get ourselves set up, have a cup of tea before returning to reception to sort out payment and passes etc. Which was nice and laid back and a very friendly way to handle things.
The weather was shocking, but we were 'sans enfants' (thanks grandfolk) so for us the freedom was enough! I would say that even though we are parents, we did choose this site because although they accept children, because of the site rules there wouldn't be so many (call me a hypocrite). Personally I wouldn't bring my own kids here, as I like to supervise my children's play and with the play field (which does have football nets and a basket ball net - plus tons of space) being out of the way this wouldn't be possible and they are too young for this level of independence just yet.
The facilities are absolutely immaculate, much attention to detail everywhere - I don't empty the toilet but its a first for me to see an elsan with a sink and handwash next to it! We are 5 star camp site regulars but the showerblock is of the highest quality that I have ever seen, the fittings are outstanding, they are spotlessly clean and there are cloths and mops to help you keep it that way!
The owners treat you like old friends, nothing is too much bother and they seemed genuinely interested in our stay and that we made the most of it.
There are walks, cycle paths and recommendations of where to dine, takeaways and food delivered. In our opinion avoid Tremfan Hall, very very pretentious, despite us telling them well in advance it was our 10 year wedding anniversary service was dismal and their focus was entirely on their Warren regular customers ho hum!
The only downside I can mention about this site is that some of the pitches are quite small, but then you have so much space in front of you then this probably wouldn't matter (we just didn't get the weather to spend any time outside). A bit of a quirk here is that you get grey waste disposal but not water hook up so do bring your aqua roll and 'handle' which we forgot! [At this point I should also remark on how friendly this site is, our fellow caravanner next door lent us his aqua roll handle and everyone passed the time of day or chatted to each other which was lovely!] There is a tap very close to most pitches. Some pitches may need an extension lead to hook up (25m).
Another slight gripe for me is that there are hair dryers in the ladies showerblock which I think charge 20p - I can understand paying for them because they are quality hair dryers and wear out very quickly if in over frequent use. However, I think in a 5 star site, there should be free power points for other vanity items or even to plug in your own hair dryer which I have encountered at other sites. As after all when the showerblock is as good as it is at the Willows you want to use it instead of your own caravan!
I've given this site an 8 out of 10 only because I feel it could be a little more child friendly without detracting from the peace and quiet site they work so hard to achieve, but I understand that it is a hard balance to strike! For couples though, its pretty hard to beat.

Management response: Many thanks for your review. Just to clarify, our play area is directly behind the touring field, parents of young children do supervise their children there, it is not impossible to do, they go with their children and play with them.
We do charge 20p for hairdryer and straightener use. We do not charge for WIFI unlike the £6 a day charged by many other 5 Star sites. |

This is a splendid site, it is costly but the facilities reflect this.
We visited as a couple with just one of our three children. The site is very quiet and peaceful. The washrooms are magnificent
I do, however, think we would feel uncomfortable if we had the three children (age 18 down to 8) with us. The site rules are very strict concerning noise. The owners (to their credit) enforce those rules.
We had considered coming here for a weekend with my sister and her family. A quick chat with the owners and we were told this was not possible. They do not accept bookings of more than one tent at a time. If you do try to book separately then meet up on the camping field, then you may be asked to leave. This is because of the noise potential. To be fair this is clear on the website.
All in all a fabulous site for a quiet and relaxing time, just be very quiet after 9pm !

Just got back from a week tent camping here. We had heard how fantastic the site was from reviews here and personal recommendations and the reality didn't disappoint! The facilities are spotless, the toilet block cleaner than most hotels, the dishwashing area clean and tidy and a very useful information hut with info on local attractions, magazines, menus of local restaurants etc. The site was very quiet, indeed we had the tent field to ourselves, with it being early in the season, but I can't imagine the site being overrun and we had no problem with letting the children walk over to the large play field. The grass pitches are bowling green quality and the views towards Snowdonia are amazing!Anna and Miles are very welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home here. Thank you for such a lovely week and we look forward to coming again!

Wow a fantastic site, fantastic facilities, fantastic location and fantastic greeting from the owners who have obviously worked so hard to create such an exclusive and luxury caravan park, all of these things made our stay so perfect, although we could have done with just a few more days of sunshine!
We thought the new toilet and shower block well thought out and the information chalet a good idea. Local shop which we could walk to for the little things we needed was good and Abersoch is a nice little town with a few good restaurants, thanks again, we will be back

Stayed here in August, just me and my teenager daughter. Originally for 7 nights, but loved the place and area so much booked for another 3 nights.
The site is lovely and the views are amazing. Fantastic toilet block with hairdryer (pay extra). You can plug in your own hairdyer / straighteners. Never had to queue for showers and the water was always hot. The wash up area is under cover and has a kettle (pay extra) and a fridge. Both are kept absolutely spotless.
Site is set over three camping fields and the caravans are in a fourth field. They tend to put families in one field. There is a play area but no playground.
The fields are very well drained and no mud anywhere, also seemed more sheltered than some of the other sites in this area.
There is a well stocked shop about five mins away and a mini market type shop a few more mins away down the road
The owners are very friendly and gave us lots of local information, gave us directions to a lovely beach that was well hidden, you would never find it if you did not know where it was! The site has a summerhouse also packed with information, and a TV, games and books.
The location of this site was ideal for us, only about ten minute drive to Abersoch and all of the wonderful beaches within this area could be reached within half an hour drive tops. Whispering sands, Hells Mouth, and you must visit Ty Coch Inn at Porthdinlaen, pub on the beach. All had something different to offer. You feel miles away from the hustle of Abersoch, yet in reality everywhere on this peninsula is only a short drive away.
There is a great little art gallery at llanderog Plas Glynn –y-weddw. The food in the café there was good value for money and really nice. Also some lovely walks start from this gallery. People have campfires on Llanbedrog beach at night.
Abersoch is very busy and we made the mistake of driving there at about seven to eat. However, everywhere was fully booked, and I mean everywhere! Could not even accommodate us two. The trick is is visit Abersoch during the day and book then. The Mexican restaurant was very popular, and although it did not open till six, people started queuing at five just to book when the doors opened at six!
Lovely site and worth a visit. It deserves its 5 star award. The owners have worked hard to make this a beautiful site.

We booked this site for three nights over the August bank holiday. What a wonderful site it is, well deserving of its five stars.
It's a small site, and absolutely immaculate. The tent field we stayed in was flat and each pitch area is large and well marked out. Views across the bay to snowdownia are stunning.
The toilet block was without a doubt the nicest and cleanest I have stayed in in the UK. I wish other campsite owners could come and see how it can be done properly. An absolute pleasure to go for a shower here with mops provided to keep the area how you found it, as everyone did. Was so pleased to see a little step has been provided at the sink area to enable children to access the taps and soap dispenser. It's little touches like this that make a good site into a great one.
Pot wash area also very clean (according to my husband).
Large play field available for the children to run around on, and as the site is private with a barrier we had no worries letting the children (7 and 8) head off to play here unsupervised.
Very, very quiet in the evenings and overnight which suits us.
Site owner was extremely helpful and welcoming and even provided us with spare pegs as we had left the groundsheet peg bag at home.
We will definitely return.

Had a great time at this campsite. Nice open pitches with plenty of room.
Very clean shower block and handy phone charging unit, £1 a go.
Miles was great craic and very helpful, will definitely be back again next year.
The site is a 10 minute drive from Abersoch and Hell's mouth beaches.
Site also has secure entry which gives you peace of mind and a cracking big field with football goals for the kids to run about in.
Site was quiet after 11 which suited us as we had our 4 year old with us.
