Just returned from a ten night visit with wife and two young children and none of us wanted to leave. An exceptionally well run site with fantastic views. New bathroom facilities are first class and the best we've seen on any site.
We loved the local area and the beaches in particular. Abersoch is a lovely place with great pubs, cafes and restaurants although they can be very busy.
We will return to the area and the site without any doubt at all and would have stayed longer if work hadn't prevented it.
Not the cheapest site we've stayed on but worth paying the extra.

Stayed at the willows for 5 nights (31stJuly-5th August). Was looking forward to it as this was to be our annual holiday and was encouraged by good reviews on this site.
We are seasoned campers and have camped in Wales, Cornwall/Devon Anglesey,France, for the last 10 years but have never paid as much as we did to stay here. The Five nights cost us £150 plus £2.50 for paying on my debit card, £30 a night for 2 adults, our daughter aged 9, and a 3 man dome tent!
We could of moved to the one field with the fantastic sea views but this was an extra £2 a night. My wife thought I had paid for an extra night on booking and sent me to reception to see if this was the case but not so.
The site has not got a play area for the kids just a designated area of the dog walking field and ball games boules etc are not allowed on the camping fields. On the plus side the owners are very helpful, the site and toilet block and washing up block are immaculate,
The food at the Ship inn is fantastic, 20min down hill, 30 up, Walk to the ruined wind mill above the site (20mins) the view will move you to tears.
Owner's comments: We would like to comment that, there is a dog exercise area and a specified and completely separate play area for children. Our dog exercise area [3 acres] is being landscaped to accommodate both a play area and a dog exercise area, it is not currently a play area as this review suggests. The tent was a Coleman Bispace 400 on an large pitch, not a 3 man dome tent: all our prices are confirmed before booking, there are no surprises. There is a 2.5% charge on credit cards, not debit cards; the customer was advised of this before paying.

We had 4 nights at the Willows and had a grass pitch in with the caravans, ramps required.
The facilities were second to none, I've never had so many showers.
Anne and Miles were friendly and are very proud of their 5 star rating.Good WI/FI connections, local P.O / shop a mile away for papers, can get cold up on the hill, lots of good bird watching, local Buzzard family kept me entertained in between the world cup matches.
As with previous reviews you need lots of 20p's with you, £3.00 for a washing machine token etc. Owner's comment : 20p's are ONLY required if you want to use the site hairdryers, microwave or kettle. If you are in a touring unit you do not actually need any as you have electric all inclusive.
A bit pricey for me a £28 a night, however you cannot find a fault,.
Aberdarron is well worth a day out, will be back to visit the area next year.

This was our first camping trip as a family so we were a bit apprehensive. Bought a cheap Aldi tent and off we went.
Found the site quite easily but arrived in a quite a strong wind and as the site is on a hill and exposed it was quite a a task putting the tent up. It could be mentioned that this site is high up and potentially exposed but hey so is the whole peninsula so what do we expect?? The views are great though and in good weather there's not many places to beat it.
The owners offered there help and once we got sorted we realised this site is really good.
The owners are really friendly and helpful and obviously take a lot of pride in what they have achieved with the site. The facilities are excellent and toilet/shower block is of a very high standard.
You need a car to get to beach/Abersoch but it's very quiet and family friendly.
Thanks and we'll be back, oh and tent was ok for the price we'll upgrade when it falls apart which will probably be quite soon!

We're just back from camping at the Willows for a week and I want to let everyone know what an out-standing site it is. On a sunny day the views were magnificent. The owners Anna and Miles were always on hand and were friendly and efficient.
The new shower block was luxurious with plenty free hot water and hair dryers for 20p a shot. The new washing up chalet had four sinks with free hot water and use of a microwave oven or kettle, again for 20p in the slot, also a fridge free of charge.
In the summer house there's a fridge freezer for campers to use at no charge, and maps, local info and books to read and return. There's also a TV in there. You can order local eggs, bacon and sausages and 8oz beef burgers on site.
The local shop is well stocked and in walking distance. The Ship Inn in Llanbedrog does good food. There's a security barrier and you get a card to operate it, for a deposit of £10.
We heard the cuckoo and the sound of curlews every day. The only problem was the midgies, so take some Jungle Formula.
Looking forward to returning.

Just returned from 3 day stay @ the willows. Every aspect was perfect.Clean toilets, showers perfect Washing up area just right. Even though Bank holiday no queuing or lack of hot water. I had drained our battery forgetting our cooler box plugged in over night, the owners got on to it right away & got the battery leads out. We will certainly be going there again Top marks

My partner and I have just returned from spending the Spring Bank Holiday at The Willows. This site by far is the best we have ever stayed at and we will most certainly be returning soon.
The location is perfect, approximately a 5 minute drive from Abersoch and Pwllheli for local amenities (a smallish Asda in Pwllheli but can get very busy at peak times ) but, there is a small village newsagents / post office about 5min walk away from the campsite for all essentials and a pub about a mile away, but be warned it is a hard walk back up the hill to the campsite!
The pitches themselves are very generous in size and the ground is very flat / soft and sheltered from high winds by hedges– ideal for camping, we were very lucky with the views from our pitch but the scenery all around the site is simply breath taking on a sunny day.
The toilet / shower blocks have been very well done out, clean and close to all pitches – ladies there are hairdryers and points for straighteners at a charge of 20p!
The kitchenette provides free hot water for washing up and access to a fridge / freezer free of charge and has many windows so you can admire the view whilst washing the dishes!
The ‘summer house’ has details of all local restaurants, local amusements (We recommend the beach at Llanbedrog owned by the National Trust, approx 2min drive from the campsite, there is a lovely café just by the beach and access to beach huts but it did get busy throughout the day), taxi numbers and there is also access to a TV in case there is something you urgently wanted to watch.
The barrier access to the site is very comforting, you are issued with a card that operates the barrier on arrival at a fee of £10, which you get back on return of the card on departure.
The owners are always close by to answer any questions you may have and offer there knowledge of the area to those who are not in the know.
All in all a lovely weekend, we are both checking the calendar for when we can go again!

This was our first visit to 'the willows' and we will certainly be back, in fact we have booked two more weekends already.
We go camping a lot in the Peak District but I have to say this is the nicest site we have ever been lucky enough to stay at. The facilities are immaculate, the views stunning and the owners very helpful. There is a brand new toilet and shower block that puts other sites to shame.
The views from the site are stunning and the local, well stocked, provided all the ingredients for Sunday breakfast.
Admittedly, we did go on a beautiful sunny weekend but this site is just first class.
If it was possible to give 11 out of 10 this site would get it. I hope that if it gets busier people respect the facilities and keep the site as nice as it is now!

We are new to the whole camping experience so as expected myself and good friend did some detailed research of all campsites in the Abersoch area. I must say it was a no brainer for us once we looked at The Willows web site, the endless list of facilities that were available, very detailed and easy to navigate.
The electric security gate at the entrance was very reassuring and gave us a sense of comfort. The new shower block is amazing very well done with a clean finish. The campsite layout is well thought out with plenty of room to have your own personal space.
The facilities were clean, tidy and modern. This campsite made such an impression on us that we wouldn't consider camping anywhere else! Free hot water anytime you need a freshen up or to clean some dishes.
Anna and Miles are very friendly and make you feel right at home. They are always about if you need their assistance, directions, taxi numbers and so on.
Whether your hard campers or new campers this is the place to be.

Took a mid week break here, the sites pleasantly located sufficiently out of Abersoch for peace and quiet but handy enough to explore Abersoch if you want.
The owners were a very genuine and friendly and welcoming to campers. They were helpful in giving local information there is also an information cabin on site which is a good source of reference for what's available in the area, places to eat etc.
The pitches were split between 3 grassed camping fields level and well spaced. The toilet block was adequate (20p for showers),I understand this is being upgraded in the near future laundry facilities are also available.
Although Admittedly mid week we were impressed just how quiet the site with the impression thankfully that rowdy behaviour isn't tolerated.
Access to the site is restricted by a barrier a refundable £10 deposit gets you an access card.
A good site that offers value for money.
