What a GEM. This site is tucked away in a little valley between the Market towns of Ashford and Faversham in Kent. The site is small with 2no showers which are kept immaculate at all times. Pitches are flat with 10amp electric and T. V. Points. The owners are very friendly and cant do enough to ensure your stay is a memorable one. The site is close to the City of Canterbury(15mins drive) and all of the Kent Seaside Resorts. Would recommend for long or weekend breaks.

We just spent two days at monks farm to try the fitting of our new awning to our van before we head out to Devon on Monday, and despite the weather we thoroughly! enjoyed it! so did our dogs!. For dog owners kings wood is a 5 min drive away, its brilliant for dog walking/ biking etc.

As for the owners of the site they are fab! people very helpful and friendly and laid back. Its a very peaceful place just the way we like it, and in a very beautiful location, its a very flat site, I didn't have to level up the van, its easy to get to as well. We will be returning again for a couple nights again soon.

To the owners thank you for having us!

See you again soon.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this gem of a campsite.

Arrive when you like and leave when you like.

The owners made us feel very welcome.

The site is really well kept, and the pitches are generous and hedged between pitches.

The toilet block contains two showers and wc's, the loos are in with the showers though. Showers are a £1 for 6 minutes. There is a separate disabled WC. The site is very peaceful.

Challock is nearby, for a small shop and a Barn shop selling local produce, beers, ciders, meats cheese's fruits and veg. Ashford very close, as is Faversham. A real pleasure to camp here. Not much for the kids to do, except run and play.

We will be returning as it is great value at £18 per unit per night (motorhome's a pound or two more) including electrics TV point and erection of awning.

All in all a superb little site!

Really good site for adults very quiet and peace full.

Great for a relaxing weekend away.

Toilets are good, site very well maintained. Owners very relaxed and friendly.

Pitch where you like for as long as you like!

Surrounding area very pretty with good pub (Wagon and Horses) Charing, Ashford, Faversham, Whitstable are all worth a visit.

Only negative is that you have to take your refuse with you! but we can live with that.

We stayed at Monks cottage over the Jubilee weekend in our touring caravan.

We have been here before many times as it is a lovely quiet site that is very well laid out.

The grass is immaculate, there are only 2 unisex toilets and showers, but they are always clean.

The price per pitch has gone up a £1 this year to £16 per night, if you have an awning it`s another £2 per night, and the showers are £1 for 6 minutes.

So if there are 2 people having a shower a day, plus awning and caravan it totals £20 a night, but the good thing is it`s that price all year, it doesn’t matter if it’s a bank holiday or school holiday, the basic site rent per night is £16, and also there is no minimum stay over bank holiday like some sites have, if you want to stay one night over a bank holiday it will cost £16.

We will continue to use this site.

This is a very quiet campsite with the best mown grass we have ever seen! We stayed here for 1 night following crossing the channel and it was only £16 per night including hook up. The showers are £1 and this gives 6 minutes, we did notice that the water made the shampoo really “bubbly” so don’t use too much!

The owners are very friendly and accommodating to late arrivals and early departures. They do not accept card payments but there are plenty cash machines not too far away.

Dogs are welcome and although no rubbish facilities there is a bin for dog waste.

Just had a wonderful 3 nights at Monks Cottage.

Peaceful site, absolutely immaculately kept. Lovely views over the countryside. A little traffic on the lane that runs at the bottom of the site, but not enough to both you.

Large grass pitches, with 10amp electric points, and tv point, bring your own lead.

We arrived after it had rained for 36 hours, but the pitch was fine, grass short, and being on chalk, well drained. We had the choice of pitch as there was only on more caravan on site, which left the day after we arrived.

The owners were very helpful and worked hard to make this site a lovely place to stay.

Just two little comments, only one water tap at the site entrance, and no rubbish disposal, but we got a pitch near the tap and managed to get rid of our rubbish each day when we went out.

If you stayed on site for any length of time this might be as issue for families. As there are no facilities for children I would say it is more suitable for adults, but that is only my opinion.

Don't let this put you off, it's a smashing place to stay.

This site is a gem and I would highly recommend it, being close to Faversham, worth a look, (plenty of takeaways of all sorts) Whitstable, (lovely) and ofcourse Canterbury.

And the price of a nights stay is really good value, so all in all 10/10.

A superb small site close to many attractions.

Toilets and showers (£1 coin required) are spotless. Good EHU with additional TV sockets.

The grounds are kept immaculate and a credit to the owner, who is always on hand to assist.

Not a site for children due to lack of facilities but in a way this adds to its benefits for those requiring real peace!

The only downside is that you have to clear your own rubbish off site which can be a problem for some, although local rubbish centre is only 3 miles away

The campsite is beautiful and beautifully maintained (spotless toilets/showers). We only stayed for one night, but we turned up without food for the evening, hoping to find a pub in the vicinity to walk to. We called Mrs Derby, the owner, and she not only made a booking for us in the excellent 'Halfway House' (great food at reasonable prices) but drove the four of us (me, the wife and two young children) the 3 or so miles there and collected us later that night! On the Sunday morning, when we found our water hose wouldn't quite reach from the tap to the inlet, Mr Derby came to the rescue with a hosepipe for us. All this for £16 for the night!

Fantastic little site, a short drive from the M2. We only stayed 1 night on our way back from France,

We were all very impressed with the site.

Facilities were very clean. There is not much for children on site, no cycling.

You do have to take your rubbish away with you but there is a local recycling place nearby we were told.

A few pubs a short drive away. We did'nt get chance to explore the surrounding area.

For directions enter the post code and trust your satnav, you do go down a narrowish road and hill to the entrance.

We will certainly use again
