Most of the recent reviews hit the nail on the head, the owners James and Delyth simply cant do enough for you.
I even saw James on a number of occasions help people with tourers to position & level their caravan up. Nowhere else have I seen this amount of input.
Its a lovely 'old fashioned' site and I mean this in the best way possible. The fire pit idea is great for people relaxing and chilling out, but ALL safety aspects have been covered in the way they are controlled.
This is a site to keep kids happy, without the little 'loves' running riot.
Enough said, we have already booked to go back for the Bank holiday weekend and I will 'sneak' another one in as soon as possible before the end of season.
Well done to both of them for keeping things real, holidays to remember.

Just arrived home from a fantastic 5 night stay at Tan Llan. We were a group of 3 tents with kids ranging from 4 to 14 years old. We were able to set up in an enclosed group so this made it feel very relaxed.
This campsite really offers something for all ages. James and Delyth organised fun games in the evening for the kids and on two nights there was the offer of a bbq with produce from the local award winning butcher. What's better than sitting around with friends and enjoying great food and a campfire?
The facilities were good and always clean. The hosts were friendly and helpful at all times even helping us to put our tents up.
This was our 3rd stay here and we will certainly try and sneak in a short break here again before the kids go back to school in September!

We stayed at Tan Llan for the jubilee weekend. It was one of the only ones available, but have no idea why, as it is great!
The pro's and cons of a stay here, Pro's
James and Delyth are the heart and soul of this place, as I said to Delyth you do too much, you never stop!
I have been to sites were it's top notch and places were you're in a pitch black barn with a torch to see were you aim! None of those sites have had warmer, more helpful people than James and Delyth.
What is here? everything you need for a good camping holiday:
Beach a stroll away
Hot showers (I'm too daft to use my own)
Nice toilets
Outside washing with hot water
Play area for kids
Electric hook ups
Fire pits dug for you (amazing never thought of digging down makes wood last longer)
Refund on shower tokens not used
Drying of wet clothing and bedding (offered more blankets)
I can see where this site is going and its up up up, all sites start somewhere and this site is great and can only get better with James and Delyth at the wheel
Now the cons!
We had to go home.
And British weather (not the sites fault).

My wife and I stayed at Tan Llan with 4 other friends for 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay overall but there were a few things that we felt let it down from being outstanding.
First of all the positives: James and Delyth are really friendly. James helped us pitch our ground sheet and allowed our friends tents to create an 'enclosure' for the stay rather than a regimented 'in a row' style.
One thing to be aware of is, if you pitch without them there, they may make you move it as we saw happen twice after people had set up a metre in the wrong direction. This was due to new fire regs that had been put in place.
The views are beautiful, overlooking some hills out to the sea. It is a little windy but nothing really to worry about. The open fire pit is great to have on an evening and James will dig a pit out for you at a charge of £2. 00 and fire wood is £5. 00.
Electric hook up is in a great location, as is the water point. There is good access to the site and is on a good road. While we were there, James put on a communal barbeque with music that was a great social event.
What we thought let the site down was the rubbish and toys / items /junk left around as the other reviewer has written. It really does stop the site being neat and tidy. We were disappointed with the showers and toilets.
Although clean, they are built within a barn and have holes in the ceilings with spiders, bugs and webs in. There is one female shower on the other side of the washing up stand with a 'wet room' set up, all tiled and sealed. If they were all like that, it would be perfect.
Although a farm style campsite is great, a farm style shower is not my wifes idea of fun. The tokens are 50p for showers and as a man that doesn't take long, they did not last a great amount of time.
There is a washing machine at £2. 00 a cycle and you do have to pay for recycling which we found strange as we were asked to do that, it wasn't an option.
Night time is quiet and round the fire we were asked to be aware of kids asleep which is fine.
Overall though a nice site.

This site used to be owned by a lovely man. The views from the field are amazing but the electrics constantly trip as they are only 6amp. The showers are hot but very expensive. There is a good little shelter for campers to wash up and a few swings for the kids. Tudweilliog is an amazing place but there are better sites further down the road. It can get very windy on this site so make sure you have good pegs and a good tie down kit there have been a few occasions where we have seen awnings and tent blown away. There is a lovely pub within walking distance down the road and a little post office. The beach is beautiful and a 5 minute walk from the site. There is a little shop that sells buckets and spades but the path down the cliff is quite steep in parts.

There are 3 main things that make this site very appealing to return to;
The owners, The short walk to an absolutely amazing beach and the views of the sea from the fields (lovely sunsets too!)
These all make this site very appealing.
What we didn't like was the 'farmyard' feel that there was stuff lying around everywhere. (Not on the pitches where we were camping, but around the owners home, and soon to be holiday cottages.)
We said to each other, and the other family with us that it was a shame that also litter was left to blow about (this is a very windy spot) and even encouraged our children to do a litter scavenge one day when walking back from the beach.
The 'tidy-up' that this site would need to action, might only take a couple of hours maximum and this would really make the difference to our decision to return again. It would just 'look' nicer.
Having said this, the toilet blocks are v clean and you get a nice long (and hot) shower for your 50p token, the owners are constantly 'around' and are extremely helpful, James will dig you out a hole for a fire and his wife is monitoring loo blocks which as I say are clean & tidy inside.
Their dedication to ensuring you are happy is brilliant, which is why I am confused at the clutter left lying about. But perhaps I am being too picky? The area I am referring to is around their own home, (it could also be 'work in progress' and is not on the actual camping area - but this does have to be passed through to get to the loos etc.)
Beach - 10/15 mins walk from site is wonderful. Shop in village (bit closer 5-10 mins walk) has good stocks of basics and newspapers and treats !
Our children loved the swings on the site and played there a great deal.
Windbreak might be a good idea if considering this site, as its a bit of a windy spot !

Excellent family run site, the owners cannot do enough for you. This Easter weekend was our 2nd visit here, toilet blocks/showers cleaned regular, they ran some field games for the children egg spoon race, tug of war etc, good play area for children with 2 swings a wendy house plenty of sit on ride toys. Lots of regulars very friendly.
Short walk to beach with excellent coastal walk stunning views, beach area clean beach shop near beach selling ice lollies beach toys.
Lovely local pub short distance walk serves good food. Local post office shop within walking distance very basic also short drive away there is an off-licence. You can have a fire pit which is all done to high safety standards. On this visit we arrived very late due to traffic the owner James couldn't of helped us enough helping us set up in the dark with electric and awning most grateful as we did it in no time especially James guiding me into the pitch and helping us level out. The only down fall for us is it is too far away to visit more often

Just arrived home after a wonderful bank holiday weekend at Tan Y Llan. The owners can not do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble.
The toilets are always clean and stocked up with loo roll etc. James, the owner will dig out a fire pit next to your tent and you can purchase a sack of wood for a real fire.
It was Easter when we were there and there was a tug of war and egg and spoon race organised for the children, also on the Easter Sunday they came round with Easter eggs for all the children. There was a BBQ organised where you could take your meat along to be cooked and sit round together.
There is also a football pitch which was a big hit with my son and husband!
The nearest beach, shop and pub are just a short walk away.

We visited this site recently with our 2 girls aged 4 and 6 for our Summer Holiday. We had an excellent holiday! The site is well laid out, has plenty of room for the kids to play (football field, 2 swings and a few little tikes type houses), friendly, helpful owners and a beautiful view of the sea and mountains.
The shower/toilet blocks were kept clean, and the showers all have plenty of space. We never had to wait even though the site seemed fairly full. Showers operate with tokens (50p), and give you plenty of time (unless you want to shave your head too, then you need another token!).
The local shop 3 mins walk away is tiny, but well stocked. Local beach gorgeous 5 mins drive, free parking, small beach hut type shop. Local pub 5 mins walk, park, great food. Within 20 mins drive there are countless beaches, all offering something slightly different.
Almost every night we had a campfire. Pit dug by James, and firewood available on site. Sitting out after dark enjoying a campfire with friends put the icing on the cake of this holiday.

We stayed here for 4 nights with friends, my sister, her husband and 13yr old twin daughters (who suffer with slight c.Palsy), it was their first experience at camping. We chose this site as the reviews were quite good and catered mainly for the children.
Even though we never saw a sports day/bbq, even hardly the owners during our stay. Upon arriving first appearance was 'were not staying here' it was like a farmyard, there was nobody to greet us and show us to our pitches so having a walk around eventually came upon James the owner who was providing temporary EHU (which we paid extra for)to our pitches which ended up being in the dog field as all other fields were full with caravans / tents. This wasn't a problem as we had 2 dogs with us, even though the grass needed cutting.
We found the toilet/shower block amenities, and soon realised these were communal which when you have young female 13yr olds with you is a bit much. The new toilet block needed finishing off, no hand drying facilities, the old block renovating, also you need tokens for the showers and take your own loo roll as they kept running out.
The good side of it was the pub (great food)post office were two mins walk away, the beach about a 20 min walk not very good access for the disabled. This site has got loads of potential and the views to die for.
