Excellent site and we cant praise the staff enough! Very clean and well maintained. We had a wonderful time though due to a bad storm we had to 'abandon ship!'. First time campers but not put off and will most certainly return to Widemouth Fields.
We had no children with us but there was a play park and football pitch. The bottom field was huge and secure. Great place to let the kids run free.

The welcome you get from the owners when you arrive is brilliant. All through the stay they were more than helpful. The site is looked after really well and the pitches are really good size.
The toilet and showers are really kept clean and plenty of hot water. Showers really good and powerful. Dish washing facilities really good and clean.
Our children aged 11 and 9 thought the play park was brilliant and my son was happy cause they got a football goal. Really good field to exercise
your dogs in. They have got a mini bus which takes you to widemouth bay or bude which we didn't use but really handy if you need it. Would highly recommend this site. We will be returning again later this year.

What a fantastic site. Saw this site last year when we stayed next door and saw how nice the site looked then and vowed to try the site out on our next return. Fantastic friendly staff. This site deserves to do well.
We stayed in our caravan close to the football pitch and close to the park. Kids spent hours playing there with us able to keep a close on on them. Pitches were hardstanding and a good size. The site has a minibus which they use to take people to either Widemouth Bay or Bude. We just called them up when we needed picking up and they were there within 10 minutes we just left them a donation as an appreciation of our thanks.
Nice little shop reasonable prices and a small restaurant doing food which we did not try. Fantastic Shower block with hot water and large showers which was very clean. Wifi was available on site at extra cost which we did not use. Also was able to get a very good signal for tv as well.
Overall I can not fault this site and will be top of our list of sites to return to next year. A very big thankyou to the guys and also not forgetting the girls for a great week.

What a fantastic site!
All facilities excellent and staff were falling over themselves to be helpful. It was blowing a gale when we arrived but we were shown immediately to a sheltered pitch and although it rained a lot during our stay there was no flooding.
Play area has been designed with young and older children in mind and kept my three children (11,8 and 2) amused for ages
Amenity block was always clean with plenty of hot water and the shop was great too. Will be returning very soon

Absolutely no grumbles about the site at all we were camped near the kids play area and it rained every night with no flooding. Staff extremely friendly. Pitch area large enough for our 9 man tent (Me, hubby & 3 kids aged 17,11,8)
It was hard work to get the kids in from the play area after dark! Shop nicely stocked and a little restaurant. Very quiet at night. It'll be super once the trees have all grown. Don't believe reviews that say you can walk to the beach in 10 minutes. It's a five minute drive down the wiggly country lanes, but brilliant once there. Great for kids rock pooling and surfers. Loads of places to eat in town. Washing area & facilities best we've ever seen - indoors & bowls supplied and the lights come on and off as you enter and leave. Just wave your arms if they turn off at night when you are washing up!

We have just returned from a weeks camping on this fab site!
We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff who showed us our pitch and told us about all the facilities.
There are 2 shower/toilet blocks which were immaculate (the cleanest ive ever seen)2 dishwashing areas and a launderette with 2 handwash sinks. The shop is well stocked and not over priced and my 2 boys really enjoyed the park area where they made loads of friends.
Just a great site and would definitely return !

We arrived during a really wet spell.
We received a great welcome and were shown to a pitch in the middle of the bottom tent field. The grass was long and had not been mowed for a while but this was understandable when we were told how bad the weather had been over the previous few days. The field soon got sodden and a number of cars (including ours!) got stuck in the mud but the staff were only to willing to help in towing the cars out using their tractor. Everyone seemed to rally round and this only added to the fun! Not the best of weeks for the weather but the site and local surroundings were great. Widemouth beach and Bude are fantastic. You are allowed to take your dog onto the beach at Blackrock sands. I would recommend paying a little bit more and opting for a pitch with electrical hook up as these seemed to be sited on grass that had better drainage. Toilets were kept clean even when the weather was at its worst. The pot cleaning room lights are on a sensor which became annoying at night if you didn't stand near to the door as the lights repeatedly went off within a few minutes because the sensor didn't pick you up at the far side of the room. I cant praise the staff enough. Nothing was too much trouble and they tried their best to resolve any problems as quickly as possible.Would consider going back but only on a hook up pitch unless the drainage was improved on the bottom field.

I almost don't want to write this as its such a great site and want it to remain my secret!
Arrived early at 9am, the site owner had us set up within an hour even though we were not supposed to have a pitch before 1pm. Gave us chance to sit and have breakfast at there shop. Great sausage sandwich just £2.50 and very filling! Shop very good bread all you can want, recommend the meat for a barbecue especially the Chinese ribs and burgers.
Pitch very spacious and level, could park the car both sides if you wanted. Site immaculate, hot showers all the time and cleaned frequently.
Washing facilities for clothes and separate for dishwashing.
Large playground for both the younger ones our daughter is two and loved the swing and slide and the older ones had lots to play on also.
Only thing I would say about shower room is there are no mirrors in the rooms themselves and me being 5ft nothing and wear glasses found it difficult to see the mirror over the sink in the main area. Take a mirror maybe if your like me! Also one free I might add hairdryer mostly in use so take your own if you can and have electric.
Overall our stay was wonderful and we even booked an extra night good prices, the area is beautiful and we will be returning as soon as possible. Recommend the restaurant 'The Bay View Inn' overlooking 'Widemouth Bay' fantastic food and well priced. Best fish shop 'The Tasty Plaice' in Bude great portions and fantastic food.
Plenty to see and do round this area and all within 20 miles, Padstow lovely but very busy go early! Boscastle worth a visit gives great views out to see. For sea 'Widemouth bay' has it surf, lifeguards and plenty of rockpools plus dog friendly! £3 for 4 hours and within a mile. Loved it.

This was our second visit to Widemouth Fields - we visited Aug 2008 & were impressed enough to return this year!
We were quite late arriving due to horrendous traffic but received a very warm friendly welcome from the hardworking staff & were once again taken round to choose from the available pitches. The pitches are all exceptionally well drained & level with wide tarmac access roads. Many are hardstanding with ample grassed areas to house the biggest of awnings etc. They have superpitches which are fully serviced.
The site is immaculate & the groundsmen are always busy cutting the grass & keeping the site spotless. There are stunning views out over the fields & hills. The facilities are plentiful & were always clean. We never had to wait to use any of them. Showers were hot & powerful. There is a well stocked shop & a breakfast cafe which did a varied & tasty breakfast menu. Dogs are made very welcome and they have the best dog walk we have experienced on a campsite - a huge, secure 12 acre meadow which the dogs can run free in. A mile away is a sandy beach that allows dogs all year. Excellent surfing beaches a very short drive away. Nearby Bude is wonderful & offers everything you need. Excellent base for touring Cornwall & Devon. We extended our stay as we had such a great time & intend to revisit very soon. Two lots of visitors that we had were also greatly impressed & are intending to stay soon. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend camping at Widemouth Fields. Weather was superb which can only help but they must have the drainage sorted as our stay followed 3+weeks of rain most days yet the camping field was dry with no crusty mud in sight!
Friendly welcome, great little shop and cafe.
Toilet showers brand new and well thought out layout. Didn't queue once for the showers (amazing on an August weekend).
Only downside was a big inconsiderate group in the camping field who should have been turfed off.
