Many have mentioned how friendly, helpful and welcoming Mike & Cath are - it's certainly true.
Nothing is too much trouble for them, they even waited at the entrance of the site at 9pm in the evening to make sure we did not drive past! there had been a 'deviation' and we were approaching from another direction
The site has very large pitches, good facilities and many trees.
Sadly we only were passing through and we saw that there were lots to do and see around Obterre - Loches is a medieval city not far away and Chenonceau our favourite chateau near bye as well.
We really disappointment to move on but we had to meet friends further on. However we have booked to return in October 2011 and cannot wait to be back there and enjoy all there is to offer
Thanks again to Mike & Cath for a wonderful stay - we'll be back.

The site is well kept and pitch sizes are excellent with countryside all around. It is very peaceful and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. There is a small games room with table tennis and a dart board for campers to use, also a splash pool to cool down in. Facilities are kept very clean and tidy, there is also a lovely gite on site. We stayed for a week and there is plenty to visit in the area, beautiful chateau's and a lovely town called Loches that has an excellent market weekly. This site is ideal for couples and families with perhaps slightly older children as there is no play areas which does mean it doesn't get too noisy. We enjoyed our stay on this site and would use it when visiting this area again.

Others have mentioned how friendly, helpful and welcoming Mike & Cath are - it's all true.
Nothing is too much trouble for them, they even waited at the entrance of the site at 8.30 in the evening to make sure we did not drive past!
The site is in a great spot with huge pitches, good facilities and great surroundings.
Lots to do and see around Obterre - Loches is a medieval city that's well worth a visit especially on market day; Chenonceau is a beautiful chateau; the 1000 Lakes are peaceful and tranquil and offer some realxing walks; and the towns/villages of Montresor and Angles sur l'Aglin are beautiful.
Only disappointment was having to lift our corner steadies to leave the place!
Thanks again to Mike & Cath for a wonderful stay - we'll be back.

This is a magical place to get away from it all.
Mike, Cath and daughter Jackie made our six day visit a great success.
You must pay a visit to the Auberge de la Source in nearby St Florier. Monday to Friday they serve an 11 euro four course lunchtime menu which is to die for. (wine included). Make sure you book in advance.
Good biking country.
Fabulous plunge pool for cooling off.
Grounds kept to an exceptionally high standard
Toilets and showers spotless
We shopped in Chatillon sur Indre (15 mins by car}where there is a reasonably sized Intermarche and Netto.
Visit to Loches is worthwhile and the lakes visit must be high on your agenda.Mike will guide you on where to go.
Make sure you take Eco friendly sanitation fluid for your Thetford!
Booking essential in peak season generally.
What more can I say. 5 Star all the way
A bargain at 17 euros a night during August.

Just returned from a fantastic nine days at this site. Almost scared to shout about it too much in case I cant get booked in myself next year.
Pitches are HUGE mostly separated with trees, toilet and shower facilities good and a barn with table tennis and darts that also offers a cool retreat when gets to hot outside. Mike and Cath are fantastic hosts and work very hard to keep everything ship shape and are always on hand making sure they have happy campers. We went before the schools broke up so there were no children until our last day, if you are a family that enjoys being entertained then this is not a site for you. Its a case of pouring your own wine and watching the world go by reading a novel and chilling out in the tranquil surroundings.
The neighbouring town has a good restaurant and a good bakery where you can watch the bread been made through the window. Supermarkets are further a field the nearest been 15 minutes which opens on a sunday morning. Freezer blocks frozen and during our stay there was a fridge available for us to use also. Lots to visit in the local area, a safari type zoo within 8 km and the lakes of the brean parc a little further. Lots of pretty local towns as well with markets.

Mike and Kath and their family were just lovely, the most welcoming hosts we've ever experienced on a campsite! The weather was pretty awful, but had it not been we would have been happy to just hang round the campsite, it's a lovely peaceful place with plenty of room.
The barn with table tennis and darts came in handy in the wind and rain. My kids loved going and talking to the chickens and sheep (and Mike and Kath, they were lovely to the kids, and the eggs were yummy).
Big pitches, plenty of hookups, pretty surroundings round the barns and pond, well-maintained, excellent value. They seem to get a lot of regulars who I can imagine will come back every year.
Overall a very nice campsite.

We cannot agree more with all the comments about the friendliness & the warmth of the welcome provided by Mike, Kath & the whole family.
If you want a peaceful site, which is easy to get to, with good access even for large units. If you only call for a stopover on your way south expect to stay for longer, we did, booked for four nights & stayed for ten & will be returning later this year.

Well - what more can we say? It has all been said by other lucky visitors and it hasn't changed. Every comment is true.
Mike and Kath are attentive hosts and were especially helpful when we had problems with our caravan and, together with other members of their Family, were more than welcoming.
Large flat pitches, peace and tranquillity, loads to see and do (a visit to the Brenn National Park is a must for country wildlife lovers). Add to these attributes beautiful villages, loads of Chateaux and above all quiet roads. If you like fresh produce, there are local producers who call with fresh bread, croissants, meat and other types of food requirements - all brought to your doorstep (well nearly!).
We will return for a much longer period.

This was the second year that we visited Le Cormier at Christmas time and the second time that we had a welcoming and relaxing stay.
We even had seasonal weather, waking up to a blizzard, but Mike and Cath kindly lent us a map and guided us to a safe road for our journey. We are looking forward to visiting Obterre in a different season and exploring the beautiful countryside surrounding the campsite. Our dogs would also like to say thank you for the stay and sorry for eating all of the wild bird food!

Le Cormier is an absolutely wonderful site set in beautiful peaceful countryside. The site is immaculate with very well kept pitches that are level and the majority are separated by bush / trees that give shade when needed and privacy. The toilet and shower facilities were always immaculate. Our 8 year old son enjoyed the splash pool which was big enough for him to swim around in and he also loved going to the barn to play darts and table tennis. The owners are extremely kind and helpful and went to great lengths to make our stay really pleasant. They charged our phones free of charge, supplied fuel for our lamps, loaned us a fridge free of charge for the week, made sure our car was all okay before we left. Both Mike and Cath were ever so welcoming to us and our children and would regularly check to make sure everything was okay. Infact, when we arrived it was dark and there was torrential rain - they put us up for the night in a gite free of charge.
The local restaurant in St. Flovier was delightful and they welcomed our 3 children of 8, 3 and 2. The meals were delightful but children's choice as often is everywhere limited to burgers or nuggets. The local supermarket in Chatillon had everything we needed at very reasonable prices - be early for fresh milk. The go kart track near Chatillon was amazing and very reasonably priced - 7 euros for around 10 minutes of fast and furious fun. Its so refreshing that the French are not over health and Safety concious. The Chateau at Azay le Ferron was very interesting especially if you are interested in animal trophies. The garden is enormous and has nature trails. The local safari zoo is great but I would recommend you hire or bring a bike to go around the centre part as the walk is rather long. The seaside lake in lakeland was also good fun with pedlos and canoes and swimming, although its not quite the sea.
Finally I would say the site is great for couples, old and young and families who are looking for a more peaceful and tranquil setting. The only late night lights are those of the shooting stars. A great site run by a lovely couple.
